INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, AUGUST 10, 2025– After three starting flights, Event #83: Double Stack amassed an astonishing 693 entries, generating a KRW 400,219,142 (~USD 289,733) prize pool — smashing the guarantee and setting new APT South Korea records for both entries and prize pool in the New Era. The top 99 players all returned for the Final Day already in the money, with KRW 76,719,142 (~USD 55,083) reserved for the one who comes out on top.
Akihito Mori began the day as the third-biggest stack in the field and navigated his way through the record-breaking competition to reach heads-up play against fellow Japanese contender Kosaku Akashi. An ICM deal was agreed upon, splitting the remaining prize money evenly and leaving the trophy plus an additional KRW 3,009,142 (~USD 2,172) to play for. Mori held firm to close it out, claiming his first APT title on the final day of the series along with KRW 63,309,142 (~USD 45,758).
Kosaku Akashi, a seasoned professional with over USD 400,000 in live earnings and two previous APT titles, was chasing his third but ultimately settled for the runner-up position. Despite the near miss, Akashi adds another significant result to an already decorated poker résumé and pockets KRW 60,300,000 (~USD 43,585).
Yuan Xu capped off a successful festival for himself with a third-place finish. The Chinese player had earlier secured his first APT title in Event #32: NL Hold’em – Freezeout and returned for another final table determined to add another. While he fell just short of heads-up play, Xu can be happy with his series with another KRW 33,500,000 (~USD 24,221) in the bank.

Shiomi Shines in Record-Breaking Event #93: Micro Main Event
Shiomi closes out his series with his first APT title and live cash
Japan’s Nagisa Shiomi turned his first recorded live cash into a huge score, taking down the largest and richest Micro Main Event ever held in South Korea. Outlasting a 384-entry field, Shiomi captured his maiden APT title and KRW 23,829,830 (~USD 17,223).
Malaysia’s Nicholas Nathaniel Lim also made an impressive debut on the APT tour, coming within striking distance of securing both his first APT title and a first winner for the Malaysian contingent in this series. He ultimately finished second, banking KRW 15,120,000 (~USD 10,927). Sho Yamada of Japan rounded out the podium, earning KRW 10,920,000 (~USD 7,893) for third place.

Fujita Clinches First APT Title in High Roller – Last Chance Finale
Fujita takes down the Last Chance High Roller
Japan’s **Gaku Fujita **clinched his maiden APT title in Event #94: High Roller – Last Chance, prevailing over a 107-entry field on the final day of the series to pocket KRW 70,874,000 (~USD 51,249).
Fellow countryman Taishi Ishibuchi came close to the title but ultimately had to settle for the runner-up spot, taking home KRW 48,810,000 (~USD 35,292) for his efforts. Former APT Main Event champion Punnat Punsri of Thailand completed the podium with a third-place finish worth KRW 32,030,000 (~USD 23,150).

Holbrook takes first APT title on final day of the series
Jeffrey David Holbrook of the United States claimed his first APT title in Event #95: PL Omaha High, pushing through a competitive 34-entry field to secure KRW 7,255,571 (~USD 5,245).
New Zealander Daniel Adam Haywood and Australian Joan Kathleen Allen rounded out the podium, earning KRW 5,010,000 (~USD 3,621) and KRW 3,190,000 (~USD 2,306) respectively.

Morita Makes Career-Best Score with First APT Title in Event #96: Turbo – Double Stack
Morita finishes off her series with her best cash ever
Japan’s Kana Morita captured her maiden APT title in Event #96: Turbo – Double Stack, outlasting a 168-entry field to secure KRW 12,514,300 (~USD 9,045). The victory marks the biggest result of her career to date, earning almost five times her previous best live cash.
Fellow Japanese player Andrew Tomoya Matahira claimed the runner-up spot for KRW 8,470,000 (~USD 6,124), while China’s Qiu Cheng Ma completed the podium with a KRW 5,650,000 (~USD 4,086) payday for third place.

Tran Good for First APT Title in Event #97: Turbo – High Roller
Tran can look back upon a successful series in Incheon
Canada’s Toan Tran closed out his series on a high note, capturing his first APT title in Event #97: Turbo – High Roller. Having already posted three cashes earlier in the festival, Tran managed to get over the line on the final day, topping a 59-entry field to claim KRW 22,944,000 (~USD 16,588).
Japan’s Emi Oike continued her remarkable run this series, adding yet another deep result to her tally. With two cashes and one title already secured, Oike finished runner-up here for KRW 16,590,000 (~USD 12,000). Fellow Japanese player Fumihiro Arishima made the most of his first recorded live cash, completing the podium with a third-place finish worth KRW 10,700,000 (~USD 7,733).
