INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, AUGUST 10, 2025– After three starting flights, Event #83: Double Stack amassed an astonishing 693 entries, generating a KRW 400,219,142 (~USD 289,733) prize pool — smashing the guarantee and setting new APT South Korea records for both entries and prize pool in the New Era. The top 99 players all returned for the Final Day already in the money, with KRW 76,719,142 (~USD 55,083) reserved for the one who comes out on top.

Akihito Mori began the day as the third-biggest stack in the field and navigated his way through the record-breaking competition to reach heads-up play against fellow Japanese contender Kosaku Akashi. An ICM deal was agreed upon, splitting the remaining prize money evenly and leaving the trophy plus an additional KRW 3,009,142 (~USD 2,172) to play for. Mori held firm to close it out, claiming his first APT title on the final day of the series along with KRW 63,309,142 (~USD 45,758).

Kosaku Akashi, a seasoned professional with over USD 400,000 in live earnings and two previous APT titles, was chasing his third but ultimately settled for the runner-up position. Despite the near miss, Akashi adds another significant result to an already decorated poker résumé and pockets KRW 60,300,000 (~USD 43,585).

Yuan Xu capped off a successful festival for himself with a third-place finish. The Chinese player had earlier secured his first APT title in Event #32: NL Hold’em – Freezeout and returned for another final table determined to add another. While he fell just short of heads-up play, Xu can be happy with his series with another KRW 33,500,000 (~USD 24,221) in the bank.

99 runners were paid, with the final table results below:
