INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, AUGUST 5, 2025– Cheng Huang, a seasoned Chinese pro with over USD 160,000 in live earnings, ships one of the most anticipated high roller events on the festival schedule. Huang battled through a formidable field of high-stakes players and claimed a well-earned victory, walking away with KRW 151,446,000 (~USD 108,709) and his first APT trophy — nearly doubling his career earnings in the process.
An ICM deal was reached with fellow countryman Xiang Yu Yu at heads up play, who had found form on the Final Day’s play. Despite falling just short of what could have been the biggest pay day of his poker career, Xiang walked away with KRW 132,700,000 (~USD 95,299).
Kaoru Kishimoto from Japan entered the final day among the top chip stacks. His run ended with a commendable third-place finish worth KRW 78,810,000 (~USD 56,590).
Notable among the finalists was American pro Joseph “subiime” Cheong, a familiar face on the global poker circuit. Cheong made his presence felt but ultimately bowed out in sixth place.

Chimura makes his mark on the APT circuit with his first title and largest live cash of his career
Buntaro Chimura, a Japanese amateur, took the spotlight in Event #41: NL Hold’em - Sponsored by JOPT, seizing his first APT title and the biggest cash of his poker career. Chimura outlasted a 199-entry field to earn KRW 29,288,547 (~USD 21,026) — more than five times his previous total live earnings.
Jiaxin Wang from China finished runner-up, taking home KRW 19,750,000 (~USD 14,180), while Zhiyi Wang, also of China, secured third place and a payout of KRW 13,600,000 (~USD 9,765).

Fourth APT Title for Cheung in Event #42: Dealer's Choice Masters
Cheung is on fine form this series
After three close calls earlier this series, UK-based mixed games specialist Qibang Cheung finally closed one out by clinching his fourth APT title in the Dealer’s Choice Masters. Cheung navigated a 30-entry field and triumphed to secure KRW 14,390,000 (~USD 10,332).
Tsz Fung Wong of Hong Kong put up a strong showing as runner-up, collecting KRW 9,910,000 (~USD 7,114) for his efforts. Meanwhile, Kazuhiro Shirasawa of Japan rounded out the podium with a third-place finish worth KRW 6,320,000 (~USD 4,538).

Oike Binks First APT Title in Event #43: Women's Main Event
Oike wins the richest APT ladies-only event ran in South Korea
Japan’s Emi Oike captured her maiden APT title in Event #43: Women’s Main Event, emerging victorious over a 76-entry field to take home KRW 12,061,276 (~USD 8,660). A regular face on the tour, this win marked her first in a ladies-only event, while also winning the richest APT women’s event ever held on South Korean soil.
Fellow countrywoman Hikari Miura finished runner-up for KRW 8,580,000 (~USD 6,161), while Thailand’s Wisinee Tanpichai rounded out the top three with a third-place finish worth KRW 5,620,000 (~USD 4,034).

Ogawa's sweet second came in PLO
Shion Ogawa, a regular face on the APT circuit from Japan, secured his second APT title after triumphing in Event #44: PL Omaha High, outlasting a tough field of 48 entries. Ogawa took home KRW 7,480,691 (~USD 5,372) for the win.
Daniel Haywood of Australia mounted a strong run to finish second, pocketing KRW 5,410,000 (~USD 3,884), while Zong Chi He of Taiwan claimed third place and a payout of KRW 3,450,000 (~USD 2,477).

Thanarattrakul Captures Third APT Title in Record-Breaking Event #45: Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty
Thanarattrakul blazes his way to a third APT title
Kannapong Thanarattrakul, Thai poker pro with over USD 3 million in live earnings and a former APT Main Event champion, triumphed in Event #45: Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty, securing his third APT title. The event not only drew the most entries but also boasted the largest prize pool for a Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty event ever held in South Korea.
Thanarattrakul claimed a total of KRW 96,132,000 (~USD 69,013) in prize money including KRW 42,000,000 (~USD 30,160) in bounties.
Xin Tang of China took runner-up honours, earning KRW 50,760,000 (~USD 36,443) including KRW 7,000,000 (~USD 5,025) in bounty rewards. Nutthapath Saisilp of Thailand rounded out the podium, finishing third with KRW 90,750,000 (~USD 65,159) in total winnings, bolstered by KRW 33,000,000 (~USD 23,692) in bounties.

Takada knocked out the competition en route to her first APT title
Rio Takada of Japan made many heads turn in Event #46: NL Hold’em – Bounty, which awarded KRW 300,000 per player knocked out on top of regular payouts. Entering with just USD 500 in prior live earnings, Takada made the score of her fledging poker career, outlasting a 200-entry field to secure her first APT title and a combined KRW 28,100,000 (~USD 20,175) in prize and bounty rewards.
Chen Hao of China finished runner-up, collecting KRW 20,950,000 (~USD 15,043) in total including bounties, while Misono Jun from Japan took third with KRW 14,710,000 (~USD 10,562).

China’s Yang Lu captured his fifth APT title in Event #47: Turbo - PL Drawmaha 2-7, outlasting a 53-entry field to earn KRW 5,341,356 (~USD 3,835). A seasoned mixed games player, this marks his second cash of the series and adds another title to his growing APT résumé.
Sho Katsura of Japan took home KRW 3,860,000 (~USD 2,771) for his runner-up finish, while American Dean Yongchurl Joe completed the podium with KRW 2,460,000 (~USD 1,765) for third place.

Tamura roars his way to his first APT title
Japanese amateur Hidekazu Tamura secured his maiden APT title in Event #50: Super Hyper Turbo - Bomb Pot, overcoming a 68-entry field to claim KRW 5,561,523 (~USD 3,993) in top prize money. This marks a breakthrough moment for Tamura, as this victory is also his first live cash.
Thailand’s Boonchai Jirapongtrakul took second place for KRW 4,000,000 (~USD 2,871), while Thai superpro and former APT Taipei 2023 Main Event champion Punnat Punsri added yet another cash to his series, finishing third for KRW 2,600,000 (~USD 1,866).
