JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, January 31, 2026– The action heats up on Day 2 of the APT Jeju Classic 2026.

A New Year means new records to be set, the APT Super High Roller did just that. The event became the richest APT Super High Roller event to ever be run on South Korean soil. You can catch up on all the action for Day 1 on our live coverage page here.

Meanwhile, the National Cup found a champion, while the much-anticipated Mystery Bounty Hunter concluded its three opening flights today, with survivors tomorrow looking to try their luck at pulling the largest bounty on offer. Once again you can catch all the live coverage at our blog and live stream.

The side events also saw action, with the first ladies-only Women’s Event running today, and will run daily till 7 February.

Haywood makes it three APT titles for himself

Daniel Adam Haywood continued his strong run on the APT with victory in Event #11: PL Omaha High – High Roller, securing his third APT title after topping a 22-entry field. The Australian grinder pocketed KRW 23,954,000 (~USD 16,807) for the win, a result that also pushed his live tournament earnings beyond the USD 100,000 mark.

France’s Youcef Zalagh delivered a career-best performance to finish runner-up, earning KRW 15,970,000 (~USD 11,206). The amateur also recorded his largest live cash to date.

Akihide Shimizu rounded out the top three for KRW 10,260,000 (~USD 7,200). The Japanese regular, who has made numerous APT final tables over the years, once again came close to a breakthrough title but continues his search for a first trophy.

Just outside the podium, John Charles Caridad made another final table appearance. The Australian has been competing regularly on the APT circuit since last year.

Tang makes a great start at Jeju with her first APT Women's Event trophy

Chao Tang captured her first APT title at APT Jeju Classic 2026 with victory in Event #12: Women’s Event, topping a 57-entry field to secure the KRW 4,091,094 (~USD 2,871) first-place prize. The Chinese amateur opened the women’s schedule in style, with this event marking the first of the daily Women’s Events that will run throughout the series until 7 February.

Second place went to Chi Yan Chan of Hong Kong, who earned KRW 2,970,000 (~USD 2,084), while Yang Li of China completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 1,920,000 (~USD 1,347) to round out a competitive opening chapter for the women’s events at Jeju.

Wenyuan Yin continued his rapid rise on the APT with victory in Event #13: Dealer’s Choice, capturing his second APT title after topping a 25-entry field. Still relatively new to the circuit, the Chinese player claimed the KRW 6,067,920 (~USD 4,257) top prize, a result that doubles his lifetime live tournament earnings

Second place went to Robert Andrew Sherwood of the United Kingdom, who earned KRW 4,040,000 (~USD 2,835). Takemi Munakata of Japan completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 2,600,000 (~USD 1,824) after another solid showing in Dealer’s Choice.

Yanggang Zou claimed a milestone victory with his first APT title and first recorded live cash in Event #14: Turbo. The Chinese amateur outlasted a sizeable 88-entry field to walk away with the KRW 11,451,267 (~USD 8,035) top prize.

Second place went to Tuguldur Gantumur of Mongolia, who earned KRW 8,020,000 (~USD 5,626) after a strong showing in the turbo structure. Harry Wallace Pavasko of the United States completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 5,290,000 (~USD 3,712).

Shimizu's long wait for his first APT title comes to a close

Akihide Shimizu finally converted a series of cashes in previous tournaments into a maiden APT title with victory in Event #15: Turbo – PL Drawmaha 2-7. The Japanese grinder topped a 31-entry field to claim the KRW 3,670,793 (~USD 2,575) first-place prize, marking a long-awaited breakthrough on the APT circuit.

Second place went to Xinze Li of China, who earned KRW 2,530,000 (~USD 1,775) after pushing deep but settled for second place. Norway’s Morten Antonsen completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 1,610,000 (~USD 1,129) to round out the top three.

Hayato Kitajima returned to the winner’s circle at APT Jeju Classic 2026 by capturing his sixth APT title in Event #16: Hyper Turbo – High Roller. The Japanese pro, who has amassed over USD 1 million in live tournament earnings, topped a 40-entry field to secure the KRW 17,620,000 (~USD 12,365) first-place prize, ending a title drought that stretched back to late 2024.

Second place went to Emmanouil Chalkiotis of Greece, who earned KRW 12,180,000 (~USD 8,547). Jieming Xu of China completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 7,780,000 (~USD 5,459) to round out a competitive contest.

The Japanese amateur, who entered the event with no recorded live cashes, outlasted a sizeable 72-entry field to secure the KRW 5,881,612 (~USD 4,127) top prize.

Second place went to Xiaojian Zhu of China, who earned KRW 4,230,000 (~USD 2,968) after a deep run in the turbo format. Horace Liang Yao of the United States completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 2,750,000 (~USD 1,929).
