Flight C of the APT Taipei 2026 Main Event is a done and dusted.

The third flight of the TWD 55,000 Main Event drew a huge 442 entries (369 unique), cramming into Red Space, Taipei, and going to war at the felt over ten levels of play.

This takes the total entrants so far to 1,837, with one remaining flight currently playing out (at time of going to press) and late registration open for the first level of Days 2A & 2B.

After nearly seven hours of play at the tables, 229 players were left standing to bag up their chips to bring through for Day 2A, on Wednesday, April 29.

It was South Korea’s Chul Woo Jung who closed out the flight with the chip lead, bagging up an impressive 306,900 chips. Hot on Jung’s heels was Malaysia’s Peng Luo Ang with 292,000 chips, and rounding out the podium in third was Jung’s compatriot Soo Bum Kim with 269,000 chips.

As expected, with the opening flights of the Main Event drawing to a close, a host of notable names took their seats to try and get a stack through to Day 2A, but most bit the dust at some point during the day. Names such as Rene von Reden, Dicky Tsang, and Kevin Hasler will need to take their shot in today’s final opening flight or take their chances and buy-in directly to one of the Day 2’s with a full 40,000 starting stack.

Germany’s Joshua Gebissa bagged up 198,100 chips in seventh place and is in the hunt for his first APT Title, and looking to crack the USD 1.5 million mark in lifetime earnings with a high finish here.

Directly after busting out of the final table of the Superstar Challenge in fourth spot, Aussie Daniel Neilson jumped into Flight C and spun his stack up to a respectable 186,300 chips, good for ninth on the leaderboard. Neilson will be looking for another deep APT run to crack through the USD 6 million in lifetime earnings mark and hopefully add another trophy to his mantlepiece, which must be needing some reinforcement soon.

Taiwan’s Charlie Chiu finished just outside the top ten in eleventh spot with 172,600 chips and is looking for the treble in APT Titles and also to crack the USD 1 million barrier in lifetime earnings.

Colombia’s Andres Vasquez bagged up 168,800 chips and will be hoping to better his third-place finish at last year’s APT Taipei in the Baby Superstar Challenge and claim his first APT Title.

Former APT Main Event champion, Christopher Mateo of the Philippines bagged up 102,000 chips and, with a big final table appearance here, could cross the USD 1.5 million threshold in lifetime earnings.

Hong Kong’s triple bracelet winner Anson Tsang is also in the mix to make it a triple APT Title as well and close in on the USD 5 million in lifetime earnings mark.

China’s Ren Lin jumped into the flight in the last level of play and tried to spin up his stack with his trademark all-in shoves but didn’t get paid off and finished the day bagging up just over starting stack with 47,000 chips.

Yan Shing Tsang made it 3,000 to play from under the gun, and action folded to Shota Mikami in the cutoff, who three-bet all in for 26,900.

Action then came to Tran Anh in the big blind, who went into the tank for a while before he announced that he was all in and had both players covered.

Tsang thought for a while before he announced, 'Lets Gamble!' and made the call to put himself at risk.

Shota Mikami: A K

Yan Shing Tsang: 9 8

Tran Anh: A A

It was looking very grim for Mikami but Tsang got some help on the 8 Q 3 flop and when the 9 peeled off on the turn he stormed into the lead.

'Pair the board' requested Anh, but the dealer didn't oblige when he flipped over the 7 river and Tsang's two pair held on to crack Anh's bullets and send Mikami to the rail.

Yencheng Huang open jammed for 13,700 from under the gun and Kohei Ikeda was nearly tempted as he asked for a count on the button before folding. Matthew Chan took the chance and called from the small blind and the big blind quickly folded.

Yencheng Huang: A T

Matthew Chan: 5 5

Huang needed to hit and the Q T Q J Q runout went his way and he locked up a late night double.

In the next hand, riding off his win he jammed the big blind after facing a 2,800 open from Ryuji Suzuki. Suzuki asked the dealer to count his new stack, and after hearing "two-eight-eight" he went into the tank. After using up a time card, he opted to fold and Huang collected more chips in one of the last few hands of the night.

Three way to the J 4 4 flop with 11,000 in the pot, and the action was checked around for the players to see the 6 peel off as the turn.

Rene von Reden led out from the small blind for 5,000. Tsan Li folded, and Marlon Laxamana raised it up to 11,000, von Reden flat-called.

On the 7 river von Reden checked to Laxamana, who bet out for 40,000, which was enough to put von Reden all in, who thought for a short while before he mucked his hand to send the pot to Laxamana with no showdown.

Yi Wei Peng opened to 3,500 from the hijack and Taieun Lim took just under his 30-second shot clock time to three-bet to 10,000 from the cutoff. Peng moved all in for his remaining 21,000 and Lim made the call.

Yi Wei Peng: K K

Taieun Lim: A Q

Peng was ahead and things looked likely to stay that way after the dealer placed the 7 3 6 flop.

Lim was left with just over ten big blinds after the 4 turn and 4 river locked up Peng the double.

Jose Colada made it 2,400 to play from under the gun, and action folded to Shinryo Norin in the hijack who three-bet to 4,500.

Colada made the call, and the flop came A T T . Colada check-called Norin's 4,000 continuation bet, and the dealer peeled off the A as the turn.

The action went check-check for the 5 to drop on the river. Colada led out for 7,000, and Norin tossed in the call and was a bit disgusted to see Colada table Q T slamming his cards into the muck as the pot was sent Colada's way.

Wutikrai Phraikhieo: A 5

The board ran out 9 3 2 4 3 , with Phraikhieo picking up a straight on the turn to take the pot.
