Yasuhiro Yamamoto
The final flight of the APT Jeju Classic 2026 Main Event concluded with a total of 209 entries (169 unique) ponying up the KRW 2.3 million (~USD 1,500) buy-in to improve the prize pool to KRW 2,964,902,400 (~USD 2 million), crushing the original KRW 2.2 billion guarantee. However, late registration is still open on Day 2 and the total prize pool will certainly get even juicier.
So far the total number of entries sits at 1,492 and is currently the second largest field for an APT Main Event in Korean soil. Should the Day 2 late registration bring 202 more entries, then this edition could be making history.
With the conclusion of ten levels of play, there were only 87 players who kept their chips to advance to tomorrow's Day 2 leg. Leading the pack was Yasuhiro Yamamoto of Japan with 331,000 chips. Yamamoto has only one recorded APT cash, which came in the APT Incheon 2025 Main Event, where he placed 160th. Hopefully, his big stack advantage can bring him an even better result.
Yamamoto jumped to an early lead at level 4 when he topped a four-way all-in , making a straight.
Coming in with the second largest chips is Vietnam's Do Quang Trinh with 257,000. With over USD 330,000 in total live earnings, Trinh's biggest APT cash was for over USD 31,000 as runner-up in the Single Day High Roller during APT Summer Series Da Nang 2023.
Third in chips right behind Trinh is Jongwon Yoon of Vanuatu with 256,600 chips. Yoon's biggest career cash came from an Aussie Millions Main Event, where he placed 42nd for over USD 18,000. He has yet to cash in an APT event.
Lester Edoc
There were a lot of big names who booked a seat from the last flight, including two-time Main Event champion Lester Edoc of the Philippines, recent APT Super High Roller and APT Superstar Challenge winner Tony Ren Lin of China, former APT Super High Roller champion Quang Minh Nguyen of Vietnam, recent APT Mystery Bounty Hunter champion Yuan Shu Zhou of China plus Natural8 Ambassadors Chih Wei Fan, Kitty Kuo and Hua We Lin.
Zhou bagged 176,700, while Edoc finished with 128,000 chips. Fan advances with 106,700 and Lin returns to Day 2 with 96,300. The other notables, unfortunately, failed to find a bag.
Some of the evening's highlights include a double knockout by Jin Ze Zhang with quads. That hand saw Zhang climb up the chip leader board. However, he only advanced with a stack of 47,600 at the end of the night.
Tony Ren Lin
Lin immediately jumped in the Main Event after winning the APT Superstar Challenge and continued his momentum with a quick double-up, cracking queens.
Thanh Loung Dang of Vietnam also made some noise with a set of ladies against Alfie Adam of the United Kingdom. Dang's huge scoop would propel him up the leaderboard, where he would end the night with a stack of 212,300.
Po Lam Lun of Hong Kong was eliminated early, but his second bullet had better prospects. One of his better hands was a massive scoop against Aleksi Novoselov that helped him end the night with 197,000 chips - the sixth largest of the flight.
