The Asian Poker Tour is on a roll, hosting five consecutive record-breaking festivals in a row and with the tour celebrating the landmark APT 20-Year Anniversary for the entirety of the 2026 poker season, the upcoming APT Taipei 2026 is expected to continue that trend.

Running Wednesday, April 22 to Sunday, May 3 in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club (CTP) across two venues both located in the heart of Taipei — the cavernous Red Space 多元商務空間) and the Asia Poker Arena — the festival packs a massive 172 tournaments (including satellites) into the 12-day schedule and boasts over TWD 207 million (~USD 6.5 million) in prize pool guarantees*.

Just like the recent record-breaking APT Jeju Classic 2026, the festival will be awarding seats to the USD 5M GTD Asian Poker Tour Championship (APTC) Main Event running from November 13-29 in Taipei.

With multiple tickets available in high roller events, there has never been a better time to dip your toes into the high-stakes waters and fight for fortune and glory.

Just under a fifth (19%) of the 172 APT Taipei 2026 events are high roller events, with 33 tournaments on the schedule with buy-ins ranging from TWD 30,000 (~USD 955) for the Hyper Turbo and Turbo High Rollers all the way up to the TWD 800,000 (~USD 25,400) Superstar Challenge, which comes with the biggest buy-in on the schedule.

Exciting new additions to the high roller schedule include a TWD 500,000 (~USD 15,900) Single Day – Super High Roller – Single Re-Entry, and a TWD 165,000 (~USD 5,200) Turbo - Super High Roller, in addition to firm favourites like the High Roller - Single Day - Mystery Bounty, the PL Omaha High - High Roller, and the Women's High Roller.

There are two High Roller Ultra Stacks on the schedule, with the second coming with a slightly larger TWD 75,000 (~USD 2,300) buy-in, but the same structure.

Players start with 200,000 in chips and battle over fourteen 40-minute levels on Day 1, with the survivors returning for the Final Day to fight it out over 40-minute levels for the trophy and title.

There have been a total of seven tournaments since its introduction, with the event averaging 185 entries and generating an average prize pool of over USD 412,000, with an average top prize in the region of over USD 88,000.

The tournament’s buy-in was increased to USD 25,000 at the APT Taipei 2024, which remains the largest and richest edition of the event with French poker legend Bertrand “ElkY” Grospellier cementing his superstar status and overcoming a 49-entry field to claim the lion’s share of the TWD 36,930,000 (USD 1,167,615) prize pool, banking the richest top prize the tournament has ever awarded – a sizable TWD 11,632,810 (~USD 367,770).

Event #52 High Roller Renji Mao 6.JPG China’s Renji Mao won the richest two-day High Roller top prize at APT Jeju Classic 2026

First introduced at APT Incheon 2025, this recent addition to the schedule has proved a popular draw amongst the tour’s dedicated high roller player base, with the three editions to have played out drawing an average field of over 200 players, generating an average prize pool of close to USD 500,000, with the winner walking away with an average top prize of over USD 100,000.

The inaugural event drew a field of 175-entries, with Australia’s Dylan Foster taking the largest share of the KRW 453,600,000 (USD 327,980) prize pool to earn his maiden APT title and a KRW 105,450,000 (USD 76,250) top prize, while Singapore’s Ravn Teo won the largest and richest of the three tournaments to have played out at the APT Jeju 2025, defeating a 260-entry field to claim the lion’s share of the KRW 898,560,000 (USD 641,830) prize pool, banking a KRW 148,050,000 (USD 105,750) top prize.

Chinese bracelet winner Renji Mao was the last man to tame the Gold Lion Silhouette trophy at the APT Jeju Classic 2026, overcoming a 174-entry field to earn the largest portion of the KRW 751,680,000 (USD 522,000) prize pool, claiming the richest top prize the tournament has yet awarded banking KRW 174,770,000 (USD 121,370) for his victory.

Players start with 100,000 in chips and compete over fourteen 40-minute levels on Day 1, with the survivors returning for the Final Day to fight it out at the felt for the trophy and title.

Single Day High Roller Events:

While the festival offers plenty of two-day tournament action, sometimes players just want to scratch the poker itch and play for a few hours before riding off into the sunset with a gleaming golden lion trophy and a pile of cash.

Excluding the turbo and hyper turbo high roller tournaments (which are covered further down) the APT Taipei 2026 offers the player base nine high roller events designed to be played out in a day without sacrificing too much when it comes to the structure.

These will be played out across both venues, with five at Red Space, and four at the Asia Poker Arena with buy-ins ranging from TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,100) for the Women’s High Roller, with the TWD 165,000 (5,200) Baby Superstar Challenge and the brand-new TWD 500,000 (~USD 15,900) Single Day Super High Roller rounding out the top end of the buy-in spectrum.

All the Single Day High Roller tournaments come with a 100,000-chip starting stack with the exception of the Single Day – Super High Roller, which comes with a 250,000-chip starting stack. Events #18 High Roller - Single Day, #94 High Roller - Single Day, and #162 High Roller - Last Chance come with 20-minute blind levels, while all the rest come with 30-minute levels.

The first 16 players seated before the first hand is dealt in all non-turbo and hyper turbo Single Day – High Roller tournaments will receive 50 percent of the tournament fee in cash back.

As per the APT Tournament Rules shot clocks are in play for all tournaments and in any non-Turbo event with High Roller in the name players begin with three 30-second time banks. Players will receive an additional time bank at every scheduled break - including overnight breaks.
