Over 80 percent of the TWD 10 million (~USD 308,000) guarantee was met on the opening Flight A, which drew an impressive 821 entries (693 unique) to set a new tour record for the largest-ever APT single tournament flight.

This was immediately beaten by Flight B, which saw a further 844 entries (702 unique) ante up the TWD 12,000 (~USD 370) buy-in.

The third and final Flight C drew 496 entries (430 unique) to bring the total number of entries up to 2,161 (1,265 unique) including 133 online qualifiers and 5 direct buy-ins from Natural8, setting a new event record for the largest number of unique entries for an APT opening event.

This makes the APT Taipei 2025 National Cup the second largest opening event in the tour’s 19-year history.

The tournament is the richest opening event in tour history, with the prize pool standing at a sizable TWD 21,264,240 (~USD 656,304) and the eventual champion walking away with a TWD 3,454,240 (~USD 106,612) top prize, plus an APTC Main Event ticket valued at TWD 350,000.

With only the top 14 percent of each flight making the Final Day, competition for a place in the paying positions was fiercely contested.

A total of 302 players fought their way through, guaranteeing themselves a payday of at least TWD 18,000 (~USD 556).
