TAIPEI, TAIWAN, April 23, 2026– The Asian Poker Tour opens its doors again for Day 2 of APT Taipei 2026. More players are making their way to the venue, Red Space, but tomorrow the Tour splits into a double venue tournament with the Asia Poker Arena (APA) also welcoming players, so expect the numbers to balloon over the weekend! Make sure to check out the schedule for which venue to go to for the events to play for.

Today, Flight C and Flight D of the APT National Cup got underway with over 500 players registering for the first two flights of the festival opener, the guarantee might be met today, with two flights still left to play for! Our high rollers are also gearing up for a weekend of exciting poker play, with the renowned APT Super High Roller, the first of our mega lions to be given out this festival, looming in the weekend.

National Cup Almost Reaches Guarantee with Two Flights to Play For; High Rollers Rev Up for First Mega Lion

Day 2 of APT Taipei 2026 saw momentum continue to build across the festival floor, with the National Cup in the spotlight. The marquee opener has almost surpassed its guarantee, attracting 1,379 entries with two more starting flights still to come tomorrow. With turnout continuing to surge, the event is now well on track to challenge, and potentially surpass, the record-breaking numbers set at APT Taipei 2025.

That previous benchmark, which saw 2,161 entries and a TWD 21,264,240 prize pool, is now firmly within reach as the field continues to swell. With multiple entry opportunities still available, the venue is buzzing about whether a new tour record will be established by the time registration closes.

The scale of the event has also drawn a host of big names into the mix. Among them is APT Jeju 2025 Main Event champion, Abraham Ceesvin, who has already taken a shot at the National Cup yesterday and is still in search of a stack for the Final Day. Joining him in the hunt as well is APT Taipei 2025 Main Event champion Akira Takasugi.

Elsewhere, the mixed games tables continue to provide their own compelling narrative. Australian pro Mark Furniss, who currently holds the record for the most APT trophies in the New Era, has been a constant presence since yesterday, grinding through the mixed variants in pursuit of his eleventh title. Furniss remains one of the most consistent forces in the mixed game streets, and his campaign for his eleventh is well underway once again.
