Asian Poker Tour Unveils the Championship Event Trophies
The Asian Poker Tour is breaking new ground with the largest and longest poker festival ever to run in Asia with the APT Championship 2025 (APTC) in Taipei, Taiwan, in partnership with the Chinese Texas Hold’em Poker Club (CTP) this November 14-30.
The festival is headlined by the USD 10,000 buy-in APT Championship Main Event Freezeout, which comes with a gigantic USD 5 million guarantee making it the largest guaranteed tournament the APT has ever run – in addition to being the richest in the Eastern Hemisphere, and in Asia, and one of the top five largest guaranteed poker events of 2025.
In total, the series will consist of an unprecedented 200-event schedule boasting over TWD 288 million (~USD 8.7 million) in prize pool guarantees.
The APTC series features 20 ‘Championship Events’ and the Asian Poker Tour is thrilled to unveil a new pride of lion-themed trophies to commemorate the launch of the tour’s most ambitious festival yet.
Gleaming golden lions have become something of a tour trademark with the 24K Gold Lion Main Event trophy winning the 2023 GPI Poker Awards Fans Choice: Best Trophy.
These Championship Events will offer everything from scaled up versions of the APT’s classic tournaments like the Super High Roller and High Roller Championship alongside the National Cup, Mystery Bounty, and the Ultra Stack as well as a 9-game, Omaha, and a Women’s event with buy-ins ranging from TWD 10,000 (~USD 330) for the Micro Main Event all the way up to the giddy heights of the USD 50,000 Superstar Championship.
All twenty of the Championship Events will award the winner with an exclusive bespoke APT Championship Trophy, so let’s take a look at the latest additions to the APT pride.
The Gold Lion APT Championship Main Event Trophy

In addition to entering the annals of tour history by winning the inaugural USD 5M GTD APT Championship Main Event Freezeout, the eventual champion will tame the only gold lion of the festival, the 24K Gold Lion APT Championship Main Event Trophy!
Players can only take their shot at claiming this exclusive trophy once a year, and with no re-entries allowed, every decision counts, every chip matters, and every player has just one shot at poker glory with the five-day tournament utilising a classic freezeout format and comprising 75-minute levels for the first two days of the tournament, and 90-minute levels thereafter.
Victory here will be a true sporting achievement, with the eventual champion likely claiming a top prize in the region of USD 1M as well as all the accolades that come with winning the inaugural APT Championship Main Event.
The Rose Gold Lion APT Championship Trophy

To claim one of the two Rose Gold Lion APT Championship Trophies, players will have to compete in the USD 25,000 buy-in [Event 7] Super High Roller Championship and the USD 15,000 buy-in [Event 13] High Roller Championship.
In addition to claiming what is likely to be close to a seven-figure USD top prize, any potential champion will have to battle against some of poker’s top professionals to emerge victorious, with the likes of Danny Tang, Joseph Cheong, and Erik Seidel already confirmed for the festival.
The Pewter Lion APT Championship Trophy

The remaining 17 Championship Events will award the Pewter Lion APT Championship Trophy, with the first of these available in the TWD 13,000 (~USD 430) buy-in [Event 0] Asia Gaming Industry Championship Freezeout.
This special Championship Event is limited to casino employees and poker industry persons – which include organizers/operators, media personnel, and celebrities/influencers in poker.
The TWD 15,000 (~USD 500) buy-in [Event 1] National Cup Championship is a great way to kickstart the series, and with past Taiwan-based National Cup tournaments drawing an average field of over 1,700 entries this is likely to be a popular draw.
Then there is the USD 3,000 buy-in [Event 6] Natural8 Cup Championship Freezeout, which offers entrants a great opportunity to work on their freezeout game as a prelude to the Main Event.
Those with deeper pockets can duke it out against some of the game’s greats in the USD 50,000 buy-in [Event 10] Superstar Championship.
There are also two great trip savers, with the TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,155) buy-in [Event 18] Turbo Championship playing out on the penultimate day of the festival, and the TWD 35,000 (~USD 1,155) buy-in [Event 19] Trip Saver closing out the series action and sporting a TWD 3M (~USD 90K) guarantee.
Those wishing to adorn their mantlepiece with these exclusive trophies should book their flight to Taiwan immediately, as they are only available at the APT Championship – see you in Taipei!
