Aaron Lim
Day 2 of the APT Incheon Main Event had drawn its curtains with 134 players making it into the money who will all come back tomorrow to play out Day 3. Australia's Aaron Lim sits at the summit of the leaderboard after bagging up 1,083,000 chips and was the only player to break the one-million-chip milestone.
It's to be noted that Masaki Nakamura brought two stacks into the money after qualifying both online and live. The Japanese player's shortest stack (101,000) will be removed from play and he will be credited with a min-cash of KRW 3,700,000 (~$2,800) and his largest stack (197,000) is what he will be starting Day 3 with.
The total number of entries for the Main Event rose to 930 which included 709 from the initial four flights, 171 online entries, and 50 that bought into Day 2 before the start of play today. Two records were broken with the prize pool of KRW 1,867,347,000 (~USD $1,411,975) being the largest ever for a Main Event in South Korea and the number of entries crushing the previous high of 540 set at APT Korea in 2021.
Lim, who sits fifteenth on Australia's All-Time Money List, came into the day with 154,800 after making it through Flight D in seventh place. The Australian quickly rose up the leaderboard and eliminated Japan's Masato Shimizu with pocket aces after the Japanese player four-bet shoved all in with pocket eights during level fifteen. Lim also was the player to burst the bubble after his nine-seven turned a pair of nines to take down the ace-queen of Gary Moon and bring the field into the money.
Hon Cheong Lee
Hong Kong players occupy the second and third biggest chip counts in the room with Cheuk Him Tsang (919,000) and Hon Cheong Lee (882,000) both representing the region. Lee won a monster pot towards the end of the day after he flopped a set of fives on a king-high flop and got all the chips of Yosuke Takagi after the Japanese player shoved over Lee's turn bet with king-jack.
The Filipino phenom Lester Edoc again found himself in a familiar situation in an APT Main Event after bringing 658,000 chips into Day 3. The sixteen-time APT title holder and two-time Main Event champion eliminated the reigning APT Incheon Main Event winner Farhad Aghayev with pocket aces after the Azerbaijani player committed his stack with pocket jacks. Edoc finished the day strong and seemed as confident as ever and now has his sights set on becoming the only player in history to win three APT Main Event titles.
Milos Petakovic won the APT Super High Roller earlier this series for a payday of KRW 145,650,000 (~$109,990) and finds himself in another promising position to tame himself another flagship lion trophy after bagging up 609,000 chips. The Serbian player won a three-way all-in pot holding pocket aces and eliminated countrymate Bojan Berberovic who held pocket kings and Thailand's Pitt Karchai who was holding pocket jacks in the same hand which sent his stack flying up the leaderboard.

Shinya Maeda finished runner-up in the APT Summer Series Da Nang Main Event for a career-best score of VND 2,429,580,000 (~$102,040) and is back for more after accumulating exactly 500,000 chips throughout the day. The Japanese player won a lot of those chips with pocket aces after he eliminated Bertrand "Elky" Grospellier who held pocket queens when the two got all the chips in on a nine-high flop.
There are a number of previous APT Main Event winners in the field including the aforementioned Edoc, Dicky Tsang (258,000), Punnat Punsri (216,000), Mike Takayama (108,000), and Hung Sheng Lin (83,000).
