TAIPEI, TAIWAN, April 29, 2026– Welcome to Day 8 of APT Taipei 2026. The action has been non-stop since the beginning of the festival, and today is no different. The Mind Sports Week comes to an end with two world records set; the first time ever Chinese Chess and Go was tied into a poker event. You can expect more as the Tour explores more innovative ways of pushing the boundaries of poker.

Today, the Women’s High Roller ran at the Asia Poker Arena today, with some of the best of the best women in Asian poker taking part in that. There is always a women’s event just for the ladies everyday at the Tour, and they have truly shown up in Taipei once again.

Go Rounds Off Record-Setting Mind Sports Week

Mind Sports Week at APT Taipei 2026 came to a fitting close today with the Go x Poker event, capping off a successful debut for the hybrid format on the Tour. Alongside Chinese Chess, the initiative has now set a world record for participation in poker crossover events, while Chess fell just one entry short of matching its own benchmark.

On the felt, the spotlight shifted back to the Main Event as Flights 2A and 2B played out, signalling that the journey to the title is now fully underway. After a full day of action, 268 players have advanced to Day 3.
