Tseng Yi Chieh
After 14 hours of intense poker action, Day 1 of the APT High Roller has come to a close, with Taiwan’s Yi Chieh Tseng emerging as the chip leader.
Bagging 1,465,000 chips, Tseng tops the leaderboard heading into the final day, where players will vie for the prestigious APT Rose Gold Lion Trophy — the last Signature title up for grabs this series.
True to the record-breaking theme of APT Taipei 2025, the High Roller became the third event of the festival to shatter all-time highs.
With 415 total entries (278 unique), it now stands as the largest and richest APT High Roller in tour history, eclipsing the previous benchmarks set at APT Taipei 2023.
The prize pool has soared to TWD 29,512,000 (~USD 964,000), with TWD 7,586,600 (~USD 247,930) awaiting the champion, plus an Asian Poker Tour Championship (APTC) Main Event ticket worth TWD 350,000.
Out of this enormous field, 85 players remain in the hunt for glory. Joining Tseng at the top are Hong Kong's Jason Chau (1,267,000) and the USA's Kaifan Wang (1,024,000) — both crossing the million-chip threshold.
Chau, a former APT champion, will no doubt be gunning for another title, especially with such a narrow margin separating the leaders.
Top 10 Chip Counts
The final day promises fierce competition, with several decorated players still in contention. Stanley Weng, the defending High Roller champion, is still in the mix and aiming for a rare back-to-back title to secure a second Rose Gold Lion. Other APT titleholders returning include Jason Lau (714,000), Julian-Andrew Warhurst (577,000), and Biao Ding (242,000).
Adding to the high-stakes atmosphere are some of the tour’s most respected players, including Christopher Park (767,000), Natural8 Ambassador Kunal Patni (428,000), Yohwan “BoxeR” Lim (253,000), and Alex Lindop (146,000) — making this one of the most stacked final days of the series.
