Dongying Ling Leads Fourth And Final Opening Flight Of The APT Incheon 2025 Main Event

The final opening flight of the APT Incheon 2025 Main Event has entered the history books, with Singapore's Dongying Ling topping the board at 239,500 chips. A total of 192 entries (156 unique) were recorded, and only 95 players successfully advanced to Day 2.

After four thrilling opening flights, the entry number climbed to 1,200 from the four opening flights, with numbers expected to grow as registration remains open just right until before Day 2 begins. This marks this tournament already as the Asian Poker Tour's largest and richest Korean-based Main Event. A total of 431 players bagged up chips from the flights and will come back tomorrow at 11pm to play until the money has been reached.

Closely following Ling in chips is Japan national Takumi Bando. He finished the day with a strong stack of 230,300. Selim Oulmekki completed flight D's podium with 201,600 chips. Other notables to make it through the final flight of the Main event include Singapore's Yeow Chung Chong (157,600) Thailand's Phachara Wongwichit (111,100), and Joris Michl (68,200).

Tanaka Applies Pressure to Close the Day Strong

With only a few hands left to play in the flight, Hideo Sawai opened from early position and was immediately three-bet to 10,000 by Shinji Tanaka on his direct left. Sawai made the call, and the two went heads-up to the flop.

The dealer spread out A K J , and Tanaka continued his line with a 10,000-chip continuation bet. Sawai didn’t back down just yet and made the call.

The turn brought the 6 , and after Sawai checked, Tanaka turned up the pressure with a sizable 25,000-chip bet. That was enough to get the fold and secure a late pot to end his day on a strong note.

Susumu Wakamiya opened to 2,700 from middle position and Dongying Lin called from the hijack.

Wakamiya checked on the 9 J 7 flop, and Ling led out for 4,100. Wakamiya check-called.

After seeing the 9 turn, Wakamiya check-called again to the bet of 6,000 from Ling.

The 3 filled out the board and Wakamiya checked. Ling sent his third barrel of 10,000. Wakamiya came along.

Susumu Wakamiya opened the cutoff to 2,800 and got himself two callers: Dongying Ling on the button, and Phachara Wongwichit in the small blind.

On the flop of J 8 2 , Wongwichit checked to Wakamiya, who bet 3,000. Only Ling stuck around.

When the K hit on the turn, Wongwichit fired out 8,500, which got the job done as Ling laid it down.

Inoue Turns Up The Heat Late In The Day

We picked up the action on the turn with Yaxiong Xu on the button betting 4,000 into a pot of 8,800. His opponent, Satoru Inoue in the small blind, responded with a raise to 16,000. Xu thought it over and made the call.

The river completed the board: 9 8 8 Q K

Inoue didn't slow down and moved all-in for 31,000. The shove put Xu in a tough spot. After burning his final time bank, he decided to lay it down. Inoue was kind enough to show J T .

With around 12,000 chips in the pot, a board ran out 8 8 7 K Q . Hideo Sawai bet 7,000 from the big blind after tanking for a long time. Takumi Bando stuck around from middle position.

Hideo Sawai revealed J 9 , and it wasn’t enough against the Bando’s winner holdingJ J , shipping the pot Bando’s way.

Okamoto Lets It Go on the River

Mitsuo Zushi raised to 3,000 from under the gun and got three calls; Shunichi Okamoto in middle position, Zhen Cui in the small blind and Ianis Mozhelis in the big blind, and they headed four-ways to the flop.

The dealer fanned 5 6 4 and Cui checked; Mozhelis put out a 5,000 bet which got folds from Zushi and Cui, only Okamoto made the call.

Action slowed on the J turn, and when the 7 completed the board Mozhelis fired off a further 10,000 into the middle. After a moment of deliberation Okamoto slid his cards into the middle and Mozhelis was pushed the pot.

Vladimir Khodov opened the action from late position and picked up two callers: Taishi Ishibuchi on the button and Zhili Zhou in the big blind.

The flop came down Q 8 2 and after it was checked to the button, Ishibuchi fired out a bet of 2,200. Both opponents made the call.

The Q on the turn paired the board, and Ishibuchi continued the aggression with a bet of 8,000. Zhou folded, but Khodov responded with a raise to 30,000. Ishibuchi quickly moved all-in for just slightly more, and Khodov made the call.
