Late registration has officially closed, and the Superstar Challenge has set a new event record with 51 total entries, including 13 re-entries.

The previous record stood at 49 entries, set at both APT Taipei 2024 and APT Jeju Classics held earlier this year. With the field tracking toward a similar number, it looked like the record might remain untouched.

That was until Lester Edoc and APT all-time money list leader Joseph Cheong both made a last-minute entry into the field, with just minutes remaining on the registration clock. Cheong had already fired a bullet earlier in the tournament, but opted to jump back in before registration closed.

The number of re-entries also played a major role in pushing the prize pool to record heights, with several players taking multiple shots today. Punat Punsri, Rob Holink, Edenata Rudy and Mingcong Chen all returned for a second bullet, while Mehdi Chaoui was the biggest multiple-entry contributor, firing an impressive four bullets throughout the day.

The late action pushed the field to 51 entries, smashing the previous record and sending the prize pool soaring. The previous record prize pool, set just earlier this year, stood at KRW 1,609,950,000 (~USD 1,118,020). Now, the remaining players will battle for a massive KRW 1,785,127,500 (~USD 1,332,185).

The Superstar Challenge Event has officially reached new heights and the remaining players will now look to survive the last remaining levels to make it through to the final day of play and take their share of the KRW 1.785 billion that's now on the line.
