JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, February 8, 2026 – The APT 20-Year Anniversary has got off to a record-breaking start with the APT Jeju Classic 2026 entering the annals of Asian Poker Tour history as the richest Korean poker festival of all-time, eclipsing the prize pools of the APT Jeju 2025.

For the fifth festival in row the APT has raised the bar; all of the APT’s 2025 festivals were record breakers and the first tour stop of the 2026 season continued that trend, with the 1,718 entry Main Event setting an international record as the largest poker tournament ever to play out in Korea.

Run in partnership with Landing Entertainment Korea and playing out at the tournament tables of the LES A Casino located at the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort, the ten-day festival saw 1,292 unique players from 44 combined countries and regions generate 12,031 total entries over 99 trophy events and 3 satellites, with players competing for a massive KRW 19,577,171,616 (~USD 13,363,257) in prize money.

The APT Jeju Classic 2026 festival saw close to a two percent (1.7%) increase in total festival entries, and a six percent (6%) increase in prize money over the APT Jeju 2025 festival.

Including the international record set in the Main Event, a total of five tour records were broken during the series.

The largest of the festival’s 99 tournaments was the 1,718-entry KRW 2.3M (~USD 1,600) APT Jeju Classic 2026 Main Event which set a new Korean poker record for field size and generated a KRW 3.4 billion (~USD 2.3 million) prize pool – the second richest the tour has ever awarded in the country, and the fifth-richest APT Main Event prize pool of all time.

Including the Main Event, the festival generated three ten-figure (USD seven-figure) prize pools. The other two came in the APT Super High Roller, and the Superstar Challenge, with Chinese poker superstar Tony Ren Lin claiming back-to-back titles in both.

The other two tour records came in the KRW 3.6M (~USD 2,400) Zodiac Classic – Sponsored by Natural8, and the KRW 4.5M (~USD 3,000) High Roller – Ultra Stack.

The Zodiac Classic was the richest edition of the tournament the tour has ever operated in Korea, and the third largest Zodiac Classic in APT history, with China’s Siyu Ji claiming the richest top prize the event has ever awarded in Korea, and the second richest Zodiac Classic top prize of all time.

The High Roller – Ultra Stack was the richest edition of the tournament the tour has ever operated, and the largest ever run in Korea, with China’s Guanglei Zhou claiming the largest top prize the event has ever awarded.

Outside of the Main Event, the three biggest fields of the festival came in the KRW 1.1M (~USD 770) Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8 (991 entries), the KRW 1.2M (~USD 840) Mini Main Event (812 entries), and the 850K (~USD 600) APT National Cup (690 entries).

Two of the three APT flagship signature Lion Trophy tournaments set new records – the Main Event, and the APT Super High Roller.

In addition to the international record set in the Main Event, the 115-entry KRW 15M (~USD 10,400) APT Super High Roller set a new tour country record for field size, top prize, and prize pool, with the tournament generating the third richest prize pool of the festival – a hefty KRW 1.58 billion (~USD 1.1 million).

The KRW 35M (USD 24,100) Superstar Challenge equaled the all-time entry record set during APT Taipei 2024, and set a new tour country record for prize pool, and top prize, generating the second largest prize pool of the festival – a monster KRW 1.62 billion (~USD 1.12 million).

The last of the festival’s record-setting tournaments to play out was also the last of the series’ marquee events, with players battling it out at the baize in an attempt to tame the Rose Gold Lion in the KRW 5M (~USD 3,400) APT High Roller.

It was Rudy Edenata the man to earn the accolades, overcoming a field of 259 entries — the ninth largest of the festival — to claim the lion’s share of the KRW 1,118,880,000 (~USD 763,740) prize pool, becoming the tour’s first-ever Indonesia Mega Lion Trophy tamer in the process.

Edenata, who has only been playing tournaments for six months, proved to be a quick study, earning a hefty KRW 233,530,000 (~USD 159,400) top prize to climb to just outside the top five on the Indonesia All-Time Money List.

Along with the award-winning Rose Gold Lion Trophy, Edenata claimed his maiden major tournament title and a KRW 14.4 million seat to the Asian Poker Tour Championship Main Event playing out in Taipei in November.

I started playing poker tournaments last August. At first, I just played Facebook games for fun. It’s really fun, especially when you bluff someone or catch someone bluffing. I feel very happy because this is my first big tournament. I have about four trophies, but they’re from small events. This is the biggest event I’ve ever played,” confided Edentata in his post-match interview.

The Indonesian player was humble in victory admitting he still has a lot to learn, but was understandably ecstatic to have claimed a career-best score in the biggest buy-in tournament he has ever played.

Yeah, honestly, I still need to learn a lot. I still make a lot of mistakes, and maybe I’m just lucky. Of course, I’m here for the fun and for the trophy. It’s a very nice trophy, and it’s the biggest one. I don’t have a big trophy yet, so this is my first. The first day was very difficult. In the first hour, I got really lucky and built my chips very fast,” he continued.

Final Day Action

Just 55 returned to action for the Final Day, with China’s Yunpeng Bai leading the charge with the chip lead and Edenata coming back with the sixth shortest stack.

I came in as one of the shortest stacks, doubled up first, and then just kept doubling up. Very lucky, really lucky. Honestly, I don’t know, because coming from the shortest stack, I didn’t have a lot of hope,” stated Edenata honestly.

With only the top 31 places paying out, 24 players would be departing empty handed, with the action recommencing on level 17 with blinds of 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 running ante.

Ka Ho Ip’s elimination at the hands of China’s Rushen Chen at the start of level 22 burst the money bubble, with the Hong Kong player’s exiting guaranteeing the remaining players a payout of at least KRW 9,720,000 (~USD 6,635).

While start-of-day chip leader Bai managed to make a deep run, the Chinese player bowed out in tenth place to set up the final table. Edenata entered fourth in the counts, right behind APT All-Time Money List #1 Joseph Cheung, with runner-up Weiran Pu of China bringing in the chip lead.

While Vietnam’s Chi Dung Tran claimed the first final table casualty after sending compatriot Toan Chan Truong to the rail in ninth on the 25th final table hand played, Pu was very much in command of the action.

The Chinese player ended Cheong’s dreams of a maiden Mega Lion title a level and eleven hands after Truong’s departure to further extend his lead.

Edenata began his climb to the summit by claiming the next elimination, sending Main Event finalist Haohui Ma out in seventh to edge into the lead six hands after Cheung’s exit.

However, Pu reasserted his dominance and scored the next three knockouts, railing Jun Lin (6th), Jun Chen (5th), and Chi Dung Tran (4th) over the span of the following three levels.

By this point in the tournament however, Edenata had edged back into the lead and kept his foot firmly on the gas to end Chang Hwan Lee’s APT High Roller title hopes, sending the Japanese player out in third to bring a 3-to-2 lead into the heads-up match against Pu.

The heads-up battle lasted just over 30-minutes, spanning two levels and twelve hands and while Pu managed to earn a double up, the mountainous slopes of Edenata’s stack proved too steep to scale.

While Pu got his chips in good, calling off his last 27 big blinds with pocket jacks following an Edenata shove, the Indonesian player spiked his ace on the river to claim the title.

Since I started playing tournaments six months ago, this trophy means a lot to me. It gives me more confidence for my next tournament. I want to study more and keep playing,” an ecstatic Edenata explained following the largest win of his poker career.

I heard about APT from my friend Jimmy. He told me it’s a very big tournament. Actually, I planned to go to APTC Taipei last year, but I had something to do, so I canceled my plan.”

This year I came, and the impression is very good. The crowd is big, with so many players. I like it. It’s more challenging for me to play with pro players because I’m just a newbie in poker.

While understandably thrilled with his win, Edenata also saw it as a learning experience, “I learned a lot from everyone here,” he confided.

“Thanks a lot for watching and supporting me since before. Thank you, everyone — my friends who guided me and taught me a lot.”

Other players to make the money but come up short of the final table included Main Event finalist Mihai Tabac (13th), the USA’s Robert Kiss (14th), APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 Main Event champion Rene von Reden (21st), and APT Taipei Poker Classic High Roller champion Martin Sedlak (23rd).
