• China’s Kunlei Xie Wins High Roller Ultra Stack & USD 10K APT Championship Seat; More Than Triples Lifetime Winnings

INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 11, 2026 – The KRW 1.5 billion guaranteed APT Main Event reached a major milestone on Day 5 of APT Incheon 2026, as the final two opening flights played out at the palatial Paradise City Casino Resort. Alongside the flagship action, Day 5 also delivered the gripping conclusion of the KRW 4.5 million (~USD 3,200) High Roller Ultra Stack.

The action extended across 11 side events, led by the KRW 800,000 (~USD 570) NL - Hold'em - Sponsored by JOPT, which featured over USD 9,150 in added value—including a JPY 250,000 NLH Crown ticket for the champion and NLH Millions added tickets for the top 30 finishers – redeemable until August 16, 2027 at any Japan Open Poker Tour Tokyo festival.

High-stakes and specialty event action also took center stage with the KRW 10 million (~USD 7,100) Baby Superstar Challenge, the Women’s Main Event, and the KRW 3.5 million Single Day High Roller – Mystery Bounty. Four-Figure Field & Counting: APT Incheon Main Event Surpasses 1K Entries; 419 Advance to Day 2

The final two starting flights of the KRW 2.5 million (~USD 1,700) buy-in APT Incheon 2026 Main Event saw a combined 508 entries throw their hat in the ring; 303 on Flight C and 205 on Flight D, joining the 165 Flight A entries and 222 Flight B entries.

This brings the current field up to 1,177, with 419 players advancing to Day 2. The KRW 1.5 billion (~USD 1 million) guarantee was surpassed midway through Flight C, with the current prize pool from the online entries and four live flights standing at KRW 2,542,320,000 (~USD 1,815,940).

However, with late registration remaining open until the start of level 12 at 12:15pm local time (KST), both the number of entries and prize pool are expected to grow further.

Action in the penultimate Flight C got underway at 11am (KST) with 303 entries (268 unique) piling into the tournament area to fight it out at the felt over six 30-minute levels and a further two 45-minute levels.

When the tournament clock ticked into the red it was Japan’s Higuchi Junichi sitting at the summit of the Flight C leaderboard with a stack of 294,800, putting him 3rd in the overall pecking order coming into Day 2.

Japan’s Takuya Miyaura (282,900) finished just behind Junichi in the counts, and China’s Dajie Zhuo (228,000) rounded out the top three stacks, with 154 players making the cut for Day 2 and bagging up chips with the top ten as follows:

APT Jeju Classic 2026 Super High Roller champion Tony Ren Lin of China (104,800), and APT Taipei 2025 High Roller champion Trung Quan Nguyen of Vietnam (88,500) were the only two former APT Mega Lion trophy winners to make it through the flight.

Other notables to bag up chips included Super High Roller third-place finisher Peng Chen of China (139,400) and runner up Michel Molenaar of the Netherlands (122,500), Hong Kong’s Ka Chuen Yip (82,000), China’s Daming Kang (70,300), and Hong Kong’s Hon Cheong “Ivan” Lee (67,100).

Yusuke Sugai Bags Flight D Chip Lead in Final Main Event Starting Flight

Japan’s Yusuke Sugai tops the 205-entry Flight D of the APT Incheon Main Event

The fourth and final Flight D got underway at 6pm (KST) and followed the same format at Flight C with the 205 entries (183 unique) battling over six 30-minute levels and four 45-minute levels.

It was Yusuke Sugai who emerged as the Flight D chip leader when the last card came off the top of the deck, and the Japanese player will be returning with a stack of 219,800 with which to make his title run for Day 2 – which puts him 12th in the overall pecking order.

While Sugai was the only player from the flight to bag over 200K, players from the Land of the Rising Sun filled out six of the top ten Flight D stacks with Tomoya Kojima (169,900) and Ryusuke Matsuo (158,900) rounding out the top three. APT All-Time Money List leader Joseph Cheong (145,200) also bagged a top ten stack:

APTC 2025 High Roller Championship winner Toby Joyce (60,400) and APT Manila Classic 2025 Main Event champion Ivan Govorov (37,800) were the only two former APT Mega Lion trophy winners to make it through from the fourth and final flight.

Other notables to make it through include former Superstar Challenge champion Joshua McCully (81,100), and APT Taipei 2024 Zodiac Classic champion Jun Li (79,800).

Kunlei Xie claims the High Roller Ultra Stack trophy and an APTC Main Event seat pass

China’s Kunlei Xie captured his maiden APT title in style, outlasting a 222-entry field (159 unique) in the KRW 4.5 million (~USD 3,200) High Roller Ultra Stack at Paradise City Casino Resort, defeating Australia All-Time Money List #5 Daniel Nielson heads-up for the victory.

The win delivered Xie a career-defining top prize of KRW 179,636,000 (~USD 128,955). Prior to this triumph, Xie held USD 47,307 in live tournament earnings, meaning his payday at APT Incheon 2026 more than tripled his career total in a single afternoon.

In addition to the lion’s share of the prize pool and the APT Gold Lion Silhouette trophy, Xie secured a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.93M) seat to November’s flagship APT Championship Main Event in Taipei.

The two-day tournament generated a KRW 863,136,000 (~USD 619,625) prize pool, with 94 returning players battling for 31 paid positions. Min-cashes started at KRW 7,470,000 (~USD 5,360), but all eyes were on the top spot with Xie navigating past a tough field of high-stakes regulars to close out the victory and deny Neilson a third career APT title.

Neilson banked KRW 120,930,000 (~USD 86,810) for his runner-up finish. In addition to Xie, Thailand’s Chaiwut Jungpongsakorn was another player to cash for a career-best score, earning KRW 85,260,000 (~USD 61,205) for his third-place podium finish.
