Both the #1003 [Event 3] Ultra Stack Championship and the #1005 [Event 5] PLO Championship crowned their champions today, adding fresh names to the growing list of Champions in this series.

At the same time, the #1006 [Event 6] Natural8 Cup Championship Freezeout kicked off its opening day, drawing a huge turnout of players eager to jump straight into the next big event on the schedule.

Read on for the full rundown of Day 6’s highlights, results, and standout performers.

Breaking Down Today’s Biggest Results and Storylines

The spotlight on Day 6 was on two Championship Events today, beginning with the conclusion of the Ultra Stack Championship, which drew a total of 1,867 entries before ultimately crowning South Korean Gyeongbyeong Lee as its newest champion. Meanwhile, the PLO Championship also wrapped up after 88 entrants battled it out over two days of play, with Malaysian Kok Wei Teoh rising above the field to secure the title and the pewter lion trophy.

Concurrently, the Natural8 Cup Championship Freezeout began its first day of play.. Among the notables bagging up on Day 1 were Lester Edoc, Sofia Lövgren, Natural8 ambassador Kitty Kuo, and Joseph Cheong, who all threw their names into the hat in pursuit of Championship glory. With two more levels of registration to go on Day 2, this event looks poised to produce another memorable storyline as the APTC rolls on. As usual, you can catch up on all the Championship action on our live reporting page.

APT blogger Kai Cocklin also spoke with **Jennifer Cassell**, one of the most recognisable Australian regulars on the Asian Poker Tour and a consistently strong performer across the region.

With women making headlines throughout the series — from Ruiko Mamiya’s National Cup Championship victory to Sofia Lövgren’s dominant run in the Mystery Bounty Championship, Cassell shared her thoughts on whether gender plays a role at the tables. “I mean, I don’t know if it matters all that much, the way that I see it anyway,” she said. “But when you’re actually at the table playing versus specific people, it can definitely help you in some parts where maybe they don’t know what you’re capable of. They underestimate you for sure.”

Cassell also praised APT’s continued efforts to support women in poker across Asia, adding: “Yeah, I think APT are doing an amazing job at that, and it shows because there’s nearly a hundred runners in these Ladies events that are happening every single day. It’s really cool how much support in Asia and APT there is for women in poker.”

You can catch the rest of her conversation with Cocklin here. In a follow up, APT Blogger Laura Fryer caught up with several of poker’s best ladies left in the Day 1 field of the Natural8 Cup Championship.

The side events also got underway early, with Event #55: Turbo – High Roller kicking off the action. Former StarCraft professional Jinho Hong, known to esports fans by his iconic IGN “YellOw”, outlasted an 89-entry field and claimed the title. Later in the day, Event #57: Dealer’s Choice Masters wrapped up with Australia’s Jarryd Godena taking it down. One of the most accomplished mixed-game players on the APT, Godena secured his seventh APT title and his second win of the series.
