JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, September 29, 2025 – Hosted in partnership with Landing Entertainment Korea at the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort, the fourth day of the ten-day APT Jeju 2025 saw the festival continue its record-setting trend.

In addition to the second starting flight of the KRW 2.6M (~USD 1,850) Main Event and its KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.5 million) guarantee, there were an impressive eleven trophy events running over the course of the day, plus a further two Natural8 promotional events and a Main Event satellite.

While it was the Main Event that proved to be the biggest draw, the KRW 10M (~USD 7,090) Baby Superstar Challenge entered the APT record books as the tour’s largest and richest Korean-based iteration of the tournament.

You can read all about the other trophy event action in the side event press release, and bring yourself up to speed with the exciting Main Event action and high rolling thrills of the Baby Superstar Challenge below.

Main Event

The second of the four KRW 2.6M (~USD 1,850) Main Event opening flights—Flight B—proved to be even more popular than its predecessor, with 427 entries (343 unique) throwing their hat into the ring and duking it out over ten levels; six 45-minute levels, and a further four 60-minute levels.

The KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.5 million) tournament guarantee was met mid-way through the flight.

As well as proving to be a sizable 80 percent increase in entries over the recent record-breaking APT Incheon 2025 Main Event Flight B, it is also a stellar 47 percent improvement on the APT Jeju 2024 Flight B which played out just 16 months earlier.

Combined with the 397 Flight A entries and the 234 OnLive entries who have already fought their way through on Natural8, this brings the Main Event field up to 1,058 entries in total, with two live starting flights left to play out.

The man sitting atop the Flight B chip counts at the conclusion of play is no stranger to success on the APT circuit, with APT Manila 2024 Super High Roller champion Willian Teoh bagging up the biggest stack of 345,500, putting him second in the current pecking order behind Flight A frontrunner Maxim Sorokin of Russia.

Andreas Christodoulou made his APT festival debut one to remember, bagging up the second-largest stack of 302,000.

The Cypriot player will be hoping to improve on his recent 40th place cash in the tour’s largest ever Korean-based Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8, which concluded on Monday.

Tian Yu Wang was another making his APT tour debut, with the Chinese player concluding play with the third-largest stack of 276,700, with APT Taipei 2024 Mini Main Event champion Tom Verbruggen of the Netherlands also managing to bag a top ten stack:

China’s Yiheng Luo Wins Tour’s Largest & Richest Korean-Based Baby Superstar Challenge for KRW 166.5M (~USD 118K)

Continuing the APT Jeju 2025’s record-setting trend, the KRW 10M (~USD 7,090) Baby Superstar Challenge was the seventh tournament of the series to set a new high score.

A single day version of the Superstar Challenge, the tournament comes with a price tag a quarter of the price and comes with a 100,000-chip starting stack and 30-minute levels compared to the 250,000 start stack and 40-minute levels of its bigger brother.

This iteration of the tournament proved to be the largest and richest the APT has ever run in Korea, and the third-largest of the nine Baby Superstar tournaments run since its introduction at the APT Taipei 2024.

A total of 64 entries (50 unique) opted to test their mettle and entered the APT high stakes arena, generating a KRW 571,392,000 (~USD 405,240) prize pool, with the top nine places paying out.

There was plenty of talent on display, with notables in the field including reigning APT Jeju Main Event champion Xixiang Luo, APT Incheon Superstar Challenge champion Calvin Lee, two-time Superstar Challenge champion Joseph Cheong, Natural8 Ambassador Nevan Chang, and a whole host of other top talent.

The action played out over twenty-seven levels—so close to fourteen hours of game time (including breaks)—with China’s Yiheng Luo etching his name into the APT annals of history, overcoming compatriot and recently crowned APT Jeju Super High Roller champion Mingcong Chen.

This proved to be an epic hour-long two level heads-up battle that saw Luo battle back from behind to seize the title, the KRW 166,562,000 (~USD 118,130) top prize—the most the tour has ever awarded in Korea—and a career best score, in addition to his maiden live tournament title.

A pretty good day at the office, especially when considering the fact that Luo was reduced to just one big blind at at one point on the final table.

Just one of the many exciting foibles of tournament poker, and certainly a great story to share with his friends and family at any rate.

Chen took KRW 119,990,000 (~USD 85,100) for his runner-up finish to bring his series winnings up to close to KRW 468 million (~USD 332,080) in just the last three days.

Taiwan’s Poseidon Ho rounded out the winner’s podium, earning a top ten career cash of KRW 78,000,000 (~USD 55,320) for his third place finish.

The USA’s Joseph Cheong continued to add to his APT #1 All-Time Money List top spot with a fifth-place finish, with Germany’s Martin Finger also making the final table and the money, with the tournament paying out as follows:
