INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 13, 2026– The business end of APT Incheon 2026 is fast approaching, but there is still no shortage of opportunities to strike gold away from the festival's marquee tournaments. Day 7 brings another packed collection of side events to Paradise City, with established APT champions chasing further glory and a fresh crop of contenders looking to make their mark as the race for the remaining trophies gathers pace.

Chen Claims Third APT Title With High Roller Triumph in Event #59: High Roller

Chen takes down two-day high roller event for third APT title

Chinese pro Yingjie Chen added a third APT title to his collection after emerging victorious in Event #59: High Roller, banking a massive KRW 105,648,000 (~USD 74,928) for the win.

Chen made his way through a stacked 184-entry field to secure one of the biggest victories of his career, with the first-place payday coming close to matching his largest live tournament score. The victory also saw the Chinese pro add another prestigious piece of APT silverware to his growing résumé.

Malaysia's Kilian Markus Hyun Loeffler came agonisingly close to his maiden APT title once again. The Malaysian pro, who boasts over USD 700,000 in live tournament earnings, ultimately had to settle for second place and a sizeable KRW 71,300,000 (~USD 50,567).

Taiwan's Kuan Ying Chen enjoyed a breakthrough result of his own, recording the biggest live tournament score of his career with a third-place finish worth KRW 49,080,000 (~USD 34,809).

Day 1 chip leader Tony Ren Lin remained firmly in contention after bringing the largest stack into the Final Day. The decorated Chinese pro successfully navigated his way to the final table, but his bid for another major APT title eventually came to an end in sixth place for KRW 24,510,000 (~USD 17,383).

Yagi Smashes Career Best With Event #68: Turbo - High Roller Victory

Yagi takes down his biggest score of his poker career here

Japan's Yoshitaka Yagi enjoyed a career-defining result after topping the 80-entry Event #68: Turbo - High Roller, earning KRW 29,134,000 (~USD 20,662) and his maiden APT title.

Yagi entered the tournament yet to taste victory on the APT stage, but changed that in emphatic fashion. His first-place payday more than tripled his previous best live tournament score, giving the Japanese player a new career benchmark alongside his first piece of APT silverware.

Malaysia's Kai Young Tan came closest to stopping Yagi, eventually finishing runner-up for KRW 20,720,000 (~USD 14,695). Japan's Koji Ohira took third place and KRW 13,570,000 (~USD 9,624).

Chung Runs the Gauntlet in Event #69: NL - Hold'em - Heads Up

Chung stood above all for his first APT title

Taiwanese amateur Cheng-Yu Chung battled his way to a maiden APT title after coming out on top of the 61-entry Event #69: NL - Hold'em - Heads Up, earning KRW 13,604,780 (~USD 9,649) for the victory.

The heads-up format required Chung to overcome a series of opponents in knockout matches on his route to the title. The Taiwanese player successfully navigated his bracket before defeating Japan's Kyo Yamashita in the final showdown to secure his first piece of APT silverware.

Yamashita collected KRW 7,900,000 (~USD 5,603) for his runner-up finish, while American Kaiwen Wei and Japan's Fukui Joichi made it as far as the semi-finals, each earning KRW 4,500,000 (~USD 3,191).

Shimizu Ends 15-Year Wait in Event #70: PL Omaha 5 Card High - 21

Shimizu's second APT title has been a long time coming

Japanese veteran Masato Shimizu ended a remarkable 15-year wait for his second APT title after taking down Event #70: PL Omaha 5 Card High - 21, earning KRW 4,261,171 (~USD 3,022) for the victory.

An experienced player with a long history on the live tournament circuit, Shimizu had not tasted APT victory since claiming his maiden title 15 years ago. The Japanese player finally brought that lengthy drought to an end in Incheon, adding a long-awaited second piece of APT silverware to his collection.

Taiwan's Li Ta Hsu came close to adding another trophy just a day after securing the tenth APT title of his career in Event #64: Turbo - NL Drawmaha Mix, but had to settle for second and KRW 3,070,000 (~USD 2,177). British player and mixed games specialist Craig Anthony Cooper took third place for KRW 2,000,000 (~USD 1,418).

Chen Conquers 303-Entry Field in Event #71: NL - Hold'em

Chen stands on the mountaintop

China's Chen Chaopeng secured the biggest result of his career after overcoming a massive 303-entry field in Event #71: NL - Hold'em, earning KRW 35,107,590 (~USD 24,899) and his maiden APT title.

One of the largest side events of APT Incheon 2026, the tournament saw Chaopeng battle through more than 300 entries before emerging with his first piece of APT silverware. The victory also delivered a significant career milestone for the Chinese player, with his first-place payday more than doubling his previous best live tournament score.

Japan's Shuhei Yamagami came closest to stopping Chaopeng, eventually settling for second place and KRW 23,330,000 (~USD 16,546). China's Zigong Jiang completed the top three, collecting KRW 17,060,000 (~USD 12,099).

Nattapatsiri Adds Fourth APT Title in Event #72: Masters Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud

Nattapatsiri takaes down fourth APT title

Thailand's Paul Nattapatsiri added another piece of APT silverware to his collection after taking down Event #72: Masters Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud, earning KRW 17,266,000 (~USD 12,245) for the victory.

Nattapatsiri has proven his ability across the APT's mixed formats over the years, and his latest success in Incheon saw the Thai player capture the fourth APT title of his career.

Japan's Daiki Aoki came closest to denying Nattapatsiri the victory, eventually taking second place for KRW 11,900,000 (~USD 8,440). China's Wenyuan Yin finished third, collecting KRW 7,580,000 (~USD 5,376).

Ziwen Liu's impressive festival continued with a fourth-place finish worth KRW 5,480,000 (~USD 3,887), adding yet another deep run to a campaign that has already seen the Chinese pro capture two titles.

Lau Converts Second Recorded Cash Into Maiden APT Title in Event #73: Women's High Roller

Lau takes down her first ladies' event and first APT title

Hong Kong's Sze Mei Lau enjoyed a breakthrough victory in Event #73: Women's High Roller, topping the 31-entry field to earn KRW 14,866,000 (~USD 10,543) and her maiden APT title.

Lau had just one recorded live tournament cash to her name prior to the event, but made her latest appearance one to remember. She went all the way in the Women's High Roller to secure her first piece of APT silverware while comfortably setting a new career-best live score.

Japan's Ayana Shinozaki finished runner-up for KRW 10,240,000 (~USD 7,262), adding another deep run after taking third in Event #38: Women's Event earlier in the festival. Compatriot Ami Togashi claimed third place and KRW 6,530,000 (~USD 4,631), improving on her runner-up showing in Event #34: Women's Event - Heads Up.

Tsuruoka Triumphs After Four-Way Deal in Event #75: NL Hold'em - KRW 250,000 Bounty Per Player

Tsuruoka's first live cash resulted in his first APT title

Japan's Takahiro Tsuruoka turned his first recorded live tournament cash into an APT title after emerging victorious from the huge 299-entry Event #75: NL Hold'em - KRW 250,000 Bounty Per Player, officially taking home KRW 4,156,698 (~USD 2,948) in prize money.

The unusual format was originally structured as a winner-take-all affair, with KRW 250,000 bounties awarded for each elimination and the entire remaining prize pool reserved for the eventual champion. However, when play reached the final four, the remaining players agreed to an ICM deal to divide the remaining prize pool rather than leave everything on the line for first place.

With the money redistributed, play continued to determine the champion, and it was Tsuruoka who eventually outlasted the remaining contenders to secure his maiden APT title. With no recorded live cashes prior to the tournament, the Japanese player marked his breakthrough in style by adding his first piece of APT silverware.

Vietnam's Thiep Pham Van officially finished runner-up for KRW 3,520,000 (~USD 2,496), while Thailand's Sarawoot Ratanatabtim took third for KRW 1,025,000 (~USD 727). China's Jingwei Guo was the fourth player involved in the deal, eventually exiting in fourth for KRW 275,000 (~USD 195).

Lu Breaks Through in Event #76: Turbo - NL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O)

Lu takes it over the line

China's Yang Lu came out on top of the 72-entry Event #76: Turbo - NL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O), collecting KRW 6,711,843 (~USD 4,760) for the victory.

Lu had been knocking on the door throughout APT Incheon 2026, recording several deep runs across the mixed-game schedule, including fifth place in Event #36: Fixed Limit - Triple Draw Mix. This time, the Chinese player went all the way, overcoming another varied field to get his hands on the trophy.

Compatriot Weitao Huang made it an all-Chinese heads-up battle, eventually finishing second for KRW 4,840,000 (~USD 3,433). Japan's Hiroaki Yoshida secured third place, taking home KRW 3,150,000 (~USD 2,234).

Honoka Takes Down 170-Entry Event #77: Hyper Turbo - NLH

Honoka takes down her first APT title

Japan's Yamada Honoka came out on top of a sizeable 170-entry field in Event #77: Hyper Turbo - NLH, walking away with KRW 16,192,720 (~USD 11,484) for the victory.

Honoka had already enjoyed a strong APT Incheon 2026 campaign before her latest triumph, recording a fifth-place finish in Event #50: Women's Main Event. This time, the Japanese player went the distance, navigating one of the larger Hyper Turbo fields of the festival to secure the title and a five-figure payday.

Thailand's Noppon Taengruen made a strong run of his own but ultimately finished runner-up for KRW 10,980,000 (~USD 7,787), while Hong Kong's Ka Lok Lam claimed third place and KRW 7,320,000 (~USD 5,191).

Wong Strikes Again in Event #78: Hyper Turbo - NL 8 Game

Wong takes it to two in Incheon

Hong Kong's Chak Sum Wong continued his impressive APT Incheon 2026 campaign by topping the 38-entry Event #78: Hyper Turbo - NL 8 Game, earning KRW 4,490,972 (~USD 3,185) for the victory.

Wong had already tasted success earlier in the festival, capturing his maiden APT title in Event #40: Fixed Limit - Dealer's Choice - 7 Card Stud. His latest mixed-game triumph gives him a second title in Incheon and continues a strong festival that also includes two other final table finishes.

Netherlands' Martijn Johannes Gerrits added yet another deep run to his own impressive festival, finishing runner-up for KRW 3,100,000 (~USD 2,199). American Frank Zhang, already a two-time winner at this year's festival, came close to adding a third title but ultimately finished third for KRW 1,980,000 (~USD 1,404).

Sato makes a winning start to his poker career

Japan's Kei Sato made his first recorded live tournament cash a winning one, overcoming the 136-entry Event #79: Super Hyper Turbo – NLH to earn KRW 9,133,046 (~USD 6,477) and his maiden APT title.

With no recorded live cashes prior to the tournament, the Japanese player navigated the fast-paced field all the way to victory with both his first recorded payday and his first piece of APT silverware.

Uzbekistan's Artur Khan fell one spot short of the title, collecting KRW 6,210,000 (~USD 4,404) for second place. Japan's Shota Matsuno finished third for KRW 4,090,000 (~USD 2,901).
