The Day 1 action got underway at 11:15am (TST) and by the time registration closed after the dinner break at the end of level 11 the final numbers were in.

It is recently crowned APT Jeju 2026 High Roller champion Rudy Edenata who will be returning in prime position to make his bid for a historic second signature lion trophy and the TWD 6,526,320 (~USD 208,510) top prize after bagging a chip leading stack of 1,950,000.

In addition, the top two places will also claim a USD 10,000 seat to the USD 5M GTD APT Championship Main Event running in November.

Japan’s Eisuke Katsuren Claims Career-Best TWD 5.4M (~USD 175K) & APTC Seat in Zodiac Classic – Sponsored by Natural8

Event #124 Zodiac Classic Eisuke Katsuren 4.jpg Japan’s Eisuke Katsuren has claimed an APTC Main Event seat in addition to a career best score in the Zodiac Classic

An additional third day proved to be no obstacle for Eisuke Katsuren in the TWD 85,000 (~USD 2,700) buy-in Event #124 Zodiac Classic – Sponsored by Natural8 with the Japanese player maintaining his overnight lead to close out the tournament.

Katsuren cashed for a career-best TWD 5,457,040 (~USD 174,905) top prize after defeating Estonia’s Ranno Sootla heads-up to claim his maiden APT title and one of two APT Championship Main Event seats on offer in the event.

With the long structure I really think the Zodiac Classic is the best way to go. This time, I got to play all the way through to the end, and I had a lot of fun. I’m so happy I can’t even put it into words; I feel incredibly lucky,” Katsuren told APT host Yuri Murakami in his post-match interview.

I played in the Main Event of the Championship last year too, and I went out with about 40 minutes left on Day 3, so I’d like to get my revenge,” Katsuren stated when asked about winning his APTC Main Event seat.

The Championship... the buy-in is a bit high, and it’s the kind of tournament where people come from all over the world. Last year, the tables felt a bit different than usual, and I expect the level of play will be quite high.”

Runner-up Sootla bagged the other seat on offer, although he had already locked up a second place payout of TWD 4,515,500 (~USD 144,730) after cutting and ICM deal the night before with Katsuren, and third-place finisher Leo Pang of Hong Kong, who banked TWD 4,113,700 (~USD131,850).

Just 3 out of an initial 486-entry field returned for the additional day, with the tournament unable to conclude before the 3am cutoff time on Friday, May 1.

A total of 71 players cashed for a share of the TWD 35,691,840 (~USD 1,143,970) prize pool, with the final table paying out as follows:
