On the direct bubble, Takumi Nakayama open-shoved from under the gun for 97,000. Daito Yamashita put in the call in the big blind.

Takumi Nakayama: A J

Daito Yamashita: 5 5

It was a classic coinflip, and Nakayama still had a chance to score a double-up.

The dealer delivered a monochrome 8 T 4 flop, no help for Nakayama and giving Yamashita a flush draw.

On the very next street, the deck answered who would be the bubble boy as another club, 9 jumped in on the turn, leaving Nakayama drawing dead.

The K came only to fill out the board and officially ship the pot Yamashita’s way.
