China’s Xu Chen bagged the biggest Turbo Flight C stack in the Main Event

JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, September 30, 2025 – Hosted in partnership with Landing Entertainment Korea at the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort, the fifth day of the ten-day APT Jeju 2025 saw the conclusion of the final two starting flights of the Main Event.

In addition to this, there were a further eleven trophy events and two Natural8 promotional events in action, and a noticeable buzz around the tournament room.

This was mainly around the KRW 4.5M (~USD 3,215) Event #46: Single Day High Roller, which set a new tour record for prize pool, and a new tour country record for field size.

Then there was action in the brand new KRW 1M (~USD 715) Event NL - Hold'em - Sponsored by JOPT (JPY 1,450,000 ~ USD 9,700 added value), which offered The winner a JOPT JPY 250,000 (~USD 1,700) ticket for NLH Crown (Oct 12). In addition, the top 30 finishers (including the winner) will receive a JOPT JPY 40,000 (~USD 270) ticket for NLH Millions (9-10 Oct).

Main Event Flight C

The final two turbo starting flights of the KRW 2.6M (~USD 1,850) Main Event are in the books, with the KRW 2.2 billion (~USD 1.5 million) tournament guarantee already having been met mid-way through Monday’s Flight B.

The most popular draw of the day proved to be the first of the two turbo flights—Flight C—which got underway at 11am local time (KST), drawing 284 entries (233 unique).

This was a 37 percent increase in entries compared to the previous APT Jeju 2024 Flight C, bringing the total number of entries for the three live flights played so far up to 1,108.

The Flight C contenders fought it out at the felt over ten levels comprising six 30-minute levels and four 45-minute levels in an attempt to win their way through to Day 2, with 134 of them successful in their endeavours.

None could catch Flight A frontrunner Maxim Sorokin, and the Russian player will be returning in pole position when the tournament resumes for Day 2.

It was Xu Chen who topped the Flight C chip counts, concluding the action with a stack of 242,100, with the Chinese player the only one of two players to exceed 200,000 in chips for the flight, the other being Thailand’s Pisan Kumpree, who bagged up 229,200.

Hong Kong’s Ka Chuen Yip ended the flight with the third-largest stack of 198,800, with German high roller Martin Finger also managing to bag a top ten stack, as did Chinese bracelet winner Peng Zhou:

Other notables managing to battle their way through included multiple APT Main Event final tablist Abraham Ceesvin (142,000), the USA’s Christopher Park (139,400), Greg “Greg Goes All-in” Liow (102,900), Malaysia’s Murly Manokharan (99,100), APT Incheon 2025 Main Event champion Junjie He (97,300), Australia’s Aaron Lim (82,700), APT Super High Roller champion Mingcong Chen (75,400), and Taiwan’s Poseidan Ho (46,500).

Two-time APT Main Event champion Mike Takayama (32,700) also made it through with just under starting stack

Main Event Flight D

The fourth and final Turbo Flight D kicked off at 6pm local time (KST) and saw 156 players in action over ten levels comprising six 30-minute levels and four 45-minute levels.

This was a whopping 119 percent increase in field size from the APT Jeju 2024 Flight D, which drew 71 entries.

With the 397 Flight A entries, the 427 Flight B entries, and the 284 Turbo Flight C entries, that brings the field up to 1,264 for the four live flights.

The 234 OnLive entries who have already fought their way through on Natural8 brings the total field up to 1,498 entries with late registration remaining open until the end of level 11 on Day 2 at 12:15pm on Wednesday, October 1.

It was Taiwan’s Chao Ting Cheng leading the Flight D charge, sitting on a stack of 332,100 by the time the tournament clock ticked into the red and the action concluded for the day.

Cheng was the only Flight D player to bag up over 300K in chips, with China’s Ziwen Liu (216,000), and Shaoming Li (215,700) rounding out the top three stacks, with the top ten as follows:

A total of 63 players battled their way through from Flight D, with notables to earn a Day 2 berth including the UK’s Guy Taylor (121,000), the USA’s Joseph Cheong (110,600), US bracelet winner Michael Wang (109,000), and Australia’s Anton Lu (60,200).
