The final starting flight of the TWD 35,000 buy-in APT Mystery Bounty Championship Sponsored by Natural8 wrapped up inside Red Space, Taipei, as another talented field took their seats in pursuit of a share of the TWD 20,170,300 (~USD 665,685) guaranteed prize pool. Flight B drew 271 entries (239 unique), bringing the total field size across both flights to 667 entries (466 unique).

By the end of Flight B, only 38 players advanced to the final day on Monday, November 17. Standing clear of the rest was Taiwan’s Bo Hau Quiang, who bagged a stack of 754,000, and was the only player to have breached the seven-hundred thousand chip mark.

Sitting second in the chip counts is Japan’s Sho Fujiki, who bagged 589,000 after winning a pivotal flip late in the day when his pocket jacks held against the two overcards of his opponent. Wooseok Kim rounds out the top three with 575,000, having eliminated two players in the penultimate level after spiking an ace with Big Slick.

When 39 remained, the tournament went into the hand-for-hand stage, and it would only take one shuffle of the deck to burst the bubble. Unfortunately for Jae Lee, he was deemed the bubble boy for Flight B after he jamed an inferior ace into Mingchen Zhang's Big Slick.

Thailand’s Phachara Wongwichit secured a seat for Day 2 with just over twenty big blinds and brings plenty of winning experience to the felt. Only two days ago he captured his seventh APT title by taking down a Hyper Turbo High Roller, so he will be a player to keep an eye on as the mystery bounties come into play.

Among the other notables advancing are Christopher Mateo (368,000), bracelet winner Darius Neagoe (283,000), and Dylan Foster (156,000), who flopped an ace to virtually triple up shortly after late registration closed. They will join Malaysia’s Wai Kiat Lee (123,000) and Sim Munhyeok (51,000), with Munhyeok in particular needing to find an early double if he hopes to collect any bounty envelopes.

The remaining 94 players have locked up TWD 35,100 (~USD 1,160) for their efforts, but all eyes will be on the the TWD 2,268,600 (~USD 74,870) top prize, plus the chance to pull TWD 1,500,000 (~USD 49,505) bounty.

Cards go in the air at 11:15 a.m. local time and will resume on Level 20 at 6,000/12,000 with a 12,000 big blind ante. Three minutes remain in the current level, after which the blind levels will increase to 30 minutes in duration.

Jae Lee moved all in from the cutoff for 150,000, and it was folded to Mingchen Zhang in the small blind who also moved all in over the top to isolate. Darius Neagoe in the big blind exited stage left quickly.

The flop of 9 T 7 gave Zhang plenty of outs to survive and when the T came on the turn, he got some additional chop outs.

No luck with the 4 river though, and Zhang was sent packing in 69th place as the unfortunate bubble boy.

With 39 players remaining and 38 spots available for Day 2, the tournament has now entered the hand-for-hand stage.

From under the gun, Edgar Asehan jammed for 103,000, and only Kiyoung Kim called from middle position with a few big blinds more.

It was a flip that was crucial for both places hopes of making to to Day 2.

The dealer fanned out a flop of 9 3 Q , keeping Asehan's sixes in the lead.

The K turn gave Kim a straight draw, but the 9 to complete the board was a brick.

Asehan moved up to 220,000, while Kim was down to just 35,000.

Jae Lee limped from late position only for Pongtalin Singkanipa to move all in, and he had the remaining players covered. Action folded to Hugues Girard in the small blind who threw in his remaining time banks, which were pulled in by the dealer before he made the call for his remaining 52,000. Lee folded quickly.

No help for Girard on the 9 6 2 6 K run out and he was sent to the rail.

A three-way all-in just occurred on Table 11, with Wooseok Kim having the chance to send Soontorn Waris and Calvin Tan to the rail.

Kim had Big Slick, Tan had a pair of fives, and Waris held two random cards.

Tan's pair stayed ahead through the 8 8 4 flop, but an A on turn catapulted Kim into the lead with a pair of aces. The 6 completed the board, and Kim scored the double knockout.

Soontorn Waris raised 20,000 from the button only to face a three-bet all in from Fabian Bartuschk in the small blind to 115,000.

Waris thought for a while and made the call.

Just the flop Bartuschk ordered came of A J J and it left Waris drawing dead too running deuces.

No help on the 6 turn and when the irrelevant K came on the river Bartuschk was sent the pot for a full double up.

Phachara Wongwichit made it 20,000 to go from middle position before Dong Lee thre-bet to 50,000 from the next seat. Mingchen Zhang committed his 54,000 out of the small blind, and only Lee stuck in the call.

Zhang had picked up Big Slick at the perfect time, and just needed to dodge a jack to keep his dreams making Day 2 alive.

The board ran out Q 6 2 K T tp gove both palyers a pair of kings, but it was Zhang's ace-kicker that played, earning him the much-needed double-up.

Chang Lin raised from the button to 20,000 and found a call from David Erquiaga in the big blind.

The flop came 5 Q 2 and Erquiaga checked to Lin who continued for 16,000. Erquiaga then check-raised to 38,000 and Lin instantly moved all in. Erquiaga instantly folded!
