TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 2, 2024 – The United State’s Peter Kiem proves himself to be among the best of the series’ high rollers by clinching his first APT title in Event #32: High Roller - Double Stack. Kiem was amongst the top chip stacks going into Day 2, which saw 63 survivors battling it out for a total prize pool of TWD 9,434,880 (~USD 296,103). He takes home TWD 2,089,880 (~USD 65,588).
The two-day event began with India’s Abhinav Iyer sitting atop the chip leaderboard. The former APT Main Event Champion and WSOP bracelet winner was Kiem’s head’s up opponent. Iyer unfortunately lost out to Kiem but secures a sizeable purse of TWD 1,411,000 (~USD 44,282). Rounding off the podium finish was Japan’s Tomoki Terashima, who pockets TWD 971,000 (~USD 30,473).

Clayton Jacobs Secures Second APT Title in Event #41: Hyper Turbo - PL Omaha High - Bomb Pot
Jacobs shows he can defuse anything, with his second APT title in bomb pot formats.
Clayton Jacobs from Taiwan might be moonlighting as a demolitions expert after securing his second APT title this year in the bomb pot format winning Event #41: Hyper Turbo - PL Omaha High - Bomb Pot. Before this series, Jacobs won his first title in APT Taipei back in March in Event #72: No Limit Hold'em - Super Hyper Turbo Bomb Pot.
Jacobs navigated his way through a 71 entrant-strong minefield (62 unique), securing TWD 86,496 (~USD 2,714) and a second APT trophy. Going head’s up against him was Malaysia’s Jack Lai Moon, who came close to another APT title this series in Omaha, but eventually took home TWD 62,000 (~USD 1,945). The United States’ Adam James Greenlee came third, pocketing TWD 40,000 (~USD 1,255).

Tong Tan Wins Singapore's Second Series Title in Event #42 Super Hyper Turbo
Tan wins his first APT title, and Singapore’s first this series.
Singapore’s Tong Tan emerged victorious in the late-night Event #42: Super Hyper Turbo. The global poker circuit regular also adds his first APT title to his name, claiming Singapore's second title win of the Series and brings home TWD 220,089 (~USD 6,907).
Close behind was Tan’s head’s up opponent, Dechatorn Leksathan from Thailand. He takes home TWD 150,000 (~USD 4,707) for coming in second, while fellow Singaporean Alvin Mok Yao Hui came in third, pocketing TWD 100,000 (~USD 3,138) in prize money.

Tony Khoang in Good Form; Claims Victory in Event #43: Big "O" Masters - PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card
Khoang is in good form coming into this series
Tony Khoang from the Netherlands claimed his first APT title after emerging victorious in Event #43: Big "O" Masters - PL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card. Khoang came into the series in good form, with two final table finishes to his name in the last five days. Khoang outlasted 41 entrants (37 unique) en route to his victory.
Local Shao Me Yang was Khoang’s head’s up opponent. A deal was struck between the two finalists, and both agreed to secure TWD 340,000 (~USD 10,670) each with TWD 29,840 (~USD 936) and the APT title and trophy on the line for head’s up.
Khoang’s victory secures a TWD 369,840 (~USD 11,607) purse for himself and an APT trophy. Yang finishes second and claims a cash prize of TWD 340,000 (~USD 10,670) while Joseph Wilkinson from the United Kingdom and winner of Event #13: NL Hold'em – Freezeout this series finished third and brought home TWD 190,000 (~USD 5,962).

Yita Choong From Down Under Goes Top in Event #45: Single Day High Roller
Seasoned pro Choong attains his first APT title.
Seasoned Pro Yita Choong from Australia came out on top in Event #45: Single Day High Roller, beating out an 85-strong field (68 unique) in the high roller event. Choong brings home a sizeable purse of TWD 2,019,000 (~USD 63,364).
Tanupat Punjarojanakul from the United States went head’s up against Choong, which the latter ultimately prevailed. Punjarojanakul pockets TWD 1,436,000 (~USD 45,067). Coming in third was Thailand’s Phachara Wongwichit, adding TWD 940,000 (~USD 29,495) in prize money to his bank account.

Edward Chun Seals Sixth APT Title in Event #46: Limit Triple Draw - Dealer's Choice
Hong Kong’s Chun adds to his already large trophy cabinet.
Edward Chun Ho Yam, a global poker circuit traveller seals his sixth APT title by winning Event #46: Limit Triple Draw - Dealer's Choice. The Hong Kong native is no stranger to closing out events and adds to an already large trophy cabinet, along with TWD 83,376 (~USD 2,616) in prize money.
Chun was part of a trio of Hong Kong players that made up the top three. Going head’s up against Chun was compatriot Chun Yu Ma, who takes home TWD 58,000 (~USD 1,819) in second place. Sparrow Cheung, winner of a previous event in the series, Event #5: Limit Triple Draw 2-7 comes in third for TWD 39,000 (~USD 1,223).

Ng Wins Final Women’s Event of the Series
Ng kick-starts her poker career with a Women’s’ Event title.
Hong Kong’s Man Yi Ng wins the final ladies’ event for the series in Event #47: Women's Event. The first title of her poker career, Ng beat out 137 other entrants (103 unique) on her way to the trophy, along with pocketing TWD 137,112 (~USD 4,302) for her efforts.
Ng went up against compatriot Iris Wong head’s up for the title. The head’s up battle was a long and gruelling affair, but Ng prevailed in the end. Wong takes home TWD 93,000 (~USD 2,918) for second place, while local Peng Chen comes in at third place, bringing home TWD 62,000 (~USD 1,945).

Hong Kong’s Kwan Finds First Success in Event #49: Turbo - PL Courchevel High - 5 Card
Kwan wins his first career title.
Shing Kit Kwan from Hong Kong finds his first ever career win, claiming victory in Event #49: Turbo - PL Courchevel High - 5 Card. The amateur claims a cash prize of TWD 127,260 (~USD 3,993) and his first APT trophy.
Bastien Joly from France went heads up against Kwan. While he did not prevail in the bout, Joly brings home a cash prize of TWD 90,000 (~USD 2,824). Japan’s Kei Akaogi rounds off the top three, adding TWD 59,000 (~USD1,851) to his bankroll.

Lim Takes Home the Pineapple in Event #50: Hyper Turbo - Atomic Pineapple
Lim wins the Atomic Pineapple
Eugene Lim, who hails from Singapore saw the fruit of his endeavours, claiming victory in Event #50: Hyper Turbo - Atomic Pineapple. The exciting event, where each player get five cards and discards one after betting preflop, lop, and turn saw 89 entrants (61 unique) taking part.
Lim, who has had two cashes to his name so far this series and head’s up opponent, Kwok Chun Yip from China came to an agreement, that Lim would take home TWD 100,000 (~USD 3,137) and the APT trophy, in return Yip would claim the lion’s share of the top two prize pool, worth TWD 239,416 (~USD 7,512). Jun Li from the United Kingdom claimed TWD 92,000 (~USD 2,886) for third place.

Wu Scores One More for the Locals in Event #51: Hyper Turbo - High Roller
Wu triumphs in high roller event.
Local boy Chien Tung Wu emerged triumphant in Event #51: Hyper Turbo - High Roller. Wu’s victory means his first APT title win, and he adds an impressive TWD 462,120 (~USD 14,503), more than double his career winnings so far. Wu came out on top against a field that had 61 entrants (53 unique).
Akash Malik, a circuit regular from India went head’s up against Wu, but ultimately came second-best in their bout. Malik adds TWD 332,000 (~USD 10,419) to his purse, while the United Kingdom’s Constantine Paparestis takes home TWD 216,000 (~USD 6.777).
