INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, AUGUST 8, 2025– Yuji Moriya delivered the surprise of the day with his victory in Event #74: Baby Superstar Challenge, topping an elite 39-entry field of high rollers to claim his first APT title and first-ever recorded live cash. The Japanese amateur walked away with a massive KRW 128,832,000 (~USD 93,167), not bad for a first score!
Thailand’s Thanawat Nand also chased his maiden APT title and came agonisingly close after a grueling heads up battle between himself and Moriya. He ultimately finished runner-up for a well-earned KRW 88,790,000 (~USD 64,194).
In third place was Taiwanese pro Poseidon Ho, one of the most seasoned names at the final table with over USD 1.5 million in live earnings. Despite a prior cash earlier this series, Ho remains in search of his first recorded live title, adding KRW 56,580,000 (~USD 40,934) to his extensive list of poker achievements.

Makoto Makes It Two in Event #73: 9-Game – High Roller
Makoto doubles up on titles in this series
Nagino Makoto has added a second title to his series, taking down Event #73: 9-Game – High Roller for KRW 26,128,000 (~USD 18,889). The Japanese grinder, who lifted his maiden trophy earlier in the series in Event #52: Draw Poker Masters, overcame a field of 24 entries and now has two APT titles to his name.
China’s Quncheng Fang finished second for KRW 17,420,000 (~USD 12,595), while Lok Ming Chan—fresh off his eighth APT title yesterday—was in pursuit of number nine but ultimately settled for third place, adding KRW 11,200,000 (~USD 8,098) to his haul.

Tsang Triumphs in Event #75: Open Face Chinese Poker – Heads Up
Tsang takes home the first Open Face Chinese Poker trophy in the New Era
Sin Yee Tsang made history by capturing the title in Event #75: Open Face Chinese Poker – Heads Up, marking the first time the poker variant has featured at an APT festival in the New Era. The Hong Kong amateur, who had no prior live cashes, seized the to claim her first APT title and a career-best payout of KRW 13,478,400 (~USD 9,745).
Facing off against seasoned mixed games player Hanh Tran in the final, Tsang held her ground and secured a hard-fought victory. Tran walked away with KRW 7,257,600 (~USD 5,247) for his runner-up finish.

Hisashiki Wins First APT Title in Event #76: NL Hold'em / PL Omaha
Hisashiki takes down his first APT title
Kodai Hisashiki emerged victorious in Event #76: NL Hold'em / PL Omaha, clinching his first-ever APT title after a three-way deal was reached between the final contenders. With the 72-entry field whittled down to the final trio, Hisashiki, along with fellow Japanese players Ryoji Hatanaka and Kazuyuki Saito, opted to chop the remaining prize pool evenly, leaving KRW 521,383 (~USD 377) and the coveted APT trophy to play for.
Despite having no previous recorded live cashes, Hisashiki secured the title and a total payout of KRW 4,021,382 (~USD 2,908). Hatanaka and Saito each walked away with KRW 3,500,000 (~USD 2,531) for their runner-up finishes.

Takenaka Claims Maiden APT Title in Event #77: Women’s Event
Takenaka takes home her first APT trophy
Hazuki Takenaka captured her first-ever APT title in Event #77: Women’s Event, topping a 40-entry field. The Japanese amateur, who had no prior recorded live cashes, took down the title and securing KRW 4,351,024 (~USD 3,146).
Joining her on the all-Japanese podium was Yuki Takahashi, who earned KRW 3,010,000 (~USD 2,177) for her runner-up finish, followed by Mina Mizunokura, who claimed third place for KRW 1,920,000 (~USD 1,388).

Second Series Title for Lu in Event #79: Turbo - PL Omaha Ultimate Hi-Lo - Double Board - Bomb Pot
Lu takes down his second APT title for the series
China’s Yang Lu claimed his second title of the series in Event #79: Turbo - PL Omaha Ultimate Hi-Lo - Double Board - Bomb Pot. Lu outlasted a 48-entry field to clinch the trophy and KRW 3,760,883 (~USD 2,720) in top prize money. Lu had early in the series took down Event #47: Turbo - PL Drawmaha 2-7.
Japan’s Yuya Wakana delivered a strong run to finish as runner-up, taking home KRW 2,590,000 (~USD 1,872), while Cheng Cheng of China placed third for KRW 1,660,000 (~USD 1,200).

Komatsu Triumphs in All-Japan Final Table at Event #80: Hyper Turbo – Double Stack
Komatsu comes out ahead of his compatriots for his first APT title
Shigenori Komatsu, a Japanese amateur with no prior APT accolades, claimed his first APT title in Event #80: Hyper Turbo – Double Stack, emerging victorious from a sizeable 82-entry field. For his efforts, Komatsu took home KRW 11,151,180 (~USD 8,063).
Adding an extra layer of intrigue to the finale, all nine players at the final table hailed from Japan. Rikiya Ogura finished in second place, banking KRW 7,940,000 (~USD 5,741), while Tsuyoshi Taguchi rounded out the podium in third for KRW 5,200,000 (~USD 3,759).

Japan’s Yusuke Kurimoto emerged victorious in Event #82: Super Hyper Turbo, besting a 88-entry field to capture his first APT title. The Japanese amateur walked away with KRW 6,461,971 (~USD 4,673).
China’s Zhiyi Wang secured a strong second-place finish, earning KRW 4,530,000 (~USD 3,276), while fellow Japanese player Toshiharu Kayukawa rounded out the podium in third for KRW 2,990,000 (~USD 2,162).
