HANOI, VIETNAM 2023, December 6, 2023 – The **APT Hanoi Billions 2023** has eclipsed the tour record for the Main Event.

Playing December 4-9 at the iconic Hanoi National Convention Center (NCC) in partnership with Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP), the final two Main Event flights attracted a further 821 combined entries – 487 for Flight C and 334 for Flight D.

The total number of entries currently stands at 2,239 – including 213 **Natural8** OnLive players – making it the largest APT tournament field ever assembled.

The prize pool currently stands at VND 70BN (~$USD $2.9M), almost tripling the tournament guarantee with late registration remaining open until the start of Day 2 at 11am local time on Thursday, December 7.

It was Australia's Michael Sideridis the man to top the Flight C chip counts once the ten levels were done and dusted, bagging up a stack of 275,600.

Malaysia's Shyh Chyn Lim (248,600), and Vietnam's Manh Hung Tran (245,600) rounded out the top three, with the top ten as follows:

Just 224 players successfully circumnavigated then Flight C tournament minefield to lock up a Day 2 seat.

Other notables to make it through included Indian bracelet winner Abhinav Iyer (193,400), Taiwan's Chen An Lin (120,200), New Zealand's Tae Hoon Han (86,900), Thailand's Kiwanont Sukhum (69,300), former Main Event winner Hoang Hai Nam (39,300), and Hong Kong's Vincent Li (30,600).

Thailand's Kajornnut Prirungrueng bagged biggest on Flight D

It was Thailand's Kajornnut Prirungrueng who bagged biggest after the Flight D clock ticked into the red, ending the ten 30-minute levels with a stack of 301,800.

Prirungrueng was the only Flight D player to finish above the 300K mark, with Vietnam's Nguyen Quan (222,000), and Sanh Thai (216,000) rounding out the top three.

A total of 163 players made the cut from this final flight, with the top ten stacks as follows:

Other notables to earn their Day 2 spot included Singapore's Alex Lee (162,200), the UK's Asa Smith (137,500), the Philippines #1 ranked tournament player Marc Rivera (103,200), Hong Kong's Jeffrey Lo (75,900), and Thailand's Pakinai Lisawad (33,600).

While 844 players made it through in total from the four live starting flights, six players qualified twice meaning their smallest stacks will be surrendered.

Some last minute entries are expected to swell the field still further, with the tournament restarting at 11am and playing down to the paying positions.

Lightning Strikes For Russia's Natalia Rozova; Wins APT's Largest-Ever SDHR Mystery Bounty Claiming Three Biggest Bounties

As well as claiming the three biggest bounties Russia's Natalia Rozova won the largest SDHR in APT history

The largest APT Single Day High Roller ever to play out – the VND 50M Event #39: Single Day High Roller - Mystery Bounty - 8 Max (20M Bounty) – saw six players out of a record field of 306 return to action, all looking to scoop the lion's share of the VND 7,236,900,000 (~$297,550) prize pool.

With a VND 1,451,050,000 (~$59,620) top prize for the eventual winner, plus a further VND 6,120,000,000 (~$251,340) in the bounty pool and the biggest bounty of VND 1BN up for grabs there was all to play for.

It was Russia's Natalia Rozova who topped the record-breaking field, defeating China's Chunhui Ji heads-up to claim the second-largest prize of her poker career.

What makes Rozova's win all the more incredible is the fact she pulled the three biggest bounties on offer – worth VND 1BN (~$41,060), 500M (~$20,530), and 300M (~$12,320) – on her way to victory.

To give you an idea of just how incredible that is, the likelihood of that happening is 0.0002% – or a 1:999,999 chance – quite literally a one-in-a-million shot. You are 32 times more likely to get struck by lightning than you are to pull the top three bounties in this field. Time to buy a lottery ticket Ms. Rozova.

In addition to earning her maiden APT title, Rozova claimed 11 scalps and banked a total of VND 3,726,050,000 (~$153,056) for her victory.

Ji received VND 964,680,000 (~$39,660) for his runner-up finish, collecting three bounties for an additional VND 175M windfall.

Start-of-day chip leader Jhon Hendri rounded out the winner's podium, taking VND 705,600,000 (~$29,000) for third place, plus an additional VND 425M in bounties for his eight scalps.

Vietnam's Tran Quy scored his first recorded live poker win in Event #38: NL Hold'em - Single Re-Entry

Playing out on Tuesday, December 5, with an extra day added to accommodate the field, the VND 10M Event #38: NL Hold'em - Single Re-Entry drew a 275-strong (228 unique) field.

With the extra day, it was Vietnam's Tran Quy the man to convert the overnight chip lead into his maiden tournament title win.

Quy was one of two players returning for the second day, and came into heads-up against India's Shivam Shukla with a 3-to-1 chip lead he would not relinquish, claiming the lion's share of the **VND 2,400,750,000 (\$98,700) prize pool**.

The Vietnamese player scored a **VND 481,260,000 (\$19,765) winner's purse for his first recorded live tournament win, with Shukla having to settle for the VND 320,020,000 (\$13,160) on offer for second.

It was China's Tsun Yin Ng who locked up third, cashing for VND 234,070,000 (\~$9,625).

Singapore's Ming Zhou Kan Battles to Victory in Inaugural Event #49: Hanoi - Enter the Dragon

Singapore's Ming Zhou Kan claimed his maiden APT title in the inaugural Event #49: Hanoi Enter the Dragon

A new addition to the schedule, the VND 15M Event #49: Hanoi - Enter the Dragon drew a field of 352 entries (280 unique) on its APT debut.

Players battled it out over thirty-four 25-minute levels for a share of the VND 4,609,440,000 (\~$189,640) prize pool, with 47 of them successful in that regard.

It was Singapore's Ming Zhou Kan who proved to be king of the poker kung fu fighters, defeating China's Xianbang Yang heads-up to claim his maiden APT title and the VND 898,370,000 (\~$36,860) top prize – his largest ever career score.

Yang took silver and the VND 570,650,000 (\$23,410 on offer for second, with South Korea's Jae Wook Shin completing the winner's triumvirate and taking VND 427,760,000 (\$17,550) for third, with the final table paying out as follows:

India's Raghav Bansal narrowly missed out on making the final table, cashing in 10th for a VND 77,440,000 payday.

China's Yingrui Ge Takes Maiden APT Title in Event #50: Single Day High Roller - 8 Max

China's Yingrui Ge defeated a tough field to claim his maiden APT title in Event #50 Single Day High Roller - 8 Max

With the two Main Event flight running, the sixth of the scheduled high roller tournaments – the VND 120M Event #50: Single Day High Roller - 8 Max was not as sizable as some of those to have already played out, but still pulled a decent 114 entries (91 unique).

Players duked it out over twenty-seven 25-minute levels in an attempt to lay their hands on a coveted APT silver lion silhouette trophy and a share of the VND 12,384,960,000 (\~$509,540) prize pool.

It was China's Yingrui Ge who claimed the accolades, besting Vietnam's Minh Phu Dao after a back-and-forth heads-up battle.

Ge earned a VND 3,116,080,000 (\~$128,060) payday for his maiden APT title victory – the best result of his poker career to date.

Dao, who already boasts a Superstar Challenge title and a Triton Super High Roller title, collected VND 2,105,440,000 (\~$86,430) for his runner-up finish – the sixth largest result on his resume.

It was another former Superstar Challenge champion coming in third, with Australia's Alan Pham earning a VND 1,368,540,000 (\~$56,190) payout for his deep run.

Former Main Event champion Dicky Tsang (7th for VND 551,130,000) also managed a final table showing, as did APT Taipei Main Event champion and Natural8 Ambassador Punnat Punsri (9th for VND 309,620,000).

Japanese rockstar Gakuto "Gackt" Oshiro added that little bit of extra sparkle to the field, and narrowly missed out on making the final table, busting in 10th for VND 253,890,000.

Natural8 Ambassador Kannapong "Tent" Thanarattrakul (13th for VND 222,930,000), and Indonesia's Jhon Hendri (15th for VND 204,350,000) also enjoyed deep runs.

Japan's Mika Ochiishi scored her maiden tournament title in Event #52: Women's Event

The second of the Women's events – the VND 8M Event #52: Women's Event – saw 70 ladies in action (61 unique).

With VND 488,880,000 (\~$20,100) in the prize pool, and only nine places paid, there was a great deal of cutthroat action to thin the field down to the paying positions.

Japan's Mika Ochiishi was the last woman standing, triumphing over compatriot Saori Tokunaga to take the VND 142,510,000 (\~$5,850) top prize – making her first recorded paying career cash, and earning her maiden tournament title in the process.

Tokunaga took VND 102,660,000 (\$4,215) for her runner-up finish, with the Philippines' Patrice Thompson rounding out the top three, collecting VND 66,730,000 (\$2,740), with the tournament paying out as follows:

South Korea's Jaeki Choi won his first APT title in Event #53: Turbo Double Stack

The VND 12M Event #53: Turbo - Double Stack drew a 182-strong (162 unique) field, with players competing over twenty-seven fast-paced 15-minute levels to claim a share of the VND 1,906,632,000 (\~$78,390) prize pool.

It was South Korea's Jaeki Choi the man to take it down, beating Thailand's Jitrada Boonnak heads-up to claim the VND 422,302,000 (\~$17,340) top prize and his maiden APT title.

Boonnak bagged VND 285,040,000 (\$11,700) for second, with Hong Kong's Hey Wo Yeung completing the winning trio and taking a payday of VND 196,190,000 (\$8,050).

China's Tianhao Zheng claimed his fifth live tournament title and maiden APT title in Event #54: Turbo Double Board, Single Winner

A fun take on Hold'em with two sets of community cards to spice up the action, the VND 9M Event #54: Turbo - Double Board, Single Winner saw 61 player in action (50 unique).

This generated a VND 471,420,000 (\~$19,380) prize pool, with the top nine places paying out.

It took twenty fast-paced 15-minute levels to find the single winner, with China's Tianhao Zheng the last man standing.

Zheng defeated Japan's Sho Homma heads-up to claim the VND 137,420,000 (\~$5,640) top prize, earning fifth live tournament title and his maiden APT title.

Homma, who was hunting a maiden title of his own, had to settle for second best and a payout of VND VND 99,000,000 (\~$4,060).

Compatriot and namesake Sho Katsura rounded out the podium, collecting VND 64,350,000 (\~$2,640) for third place, with the tournament paying out as follows:

One of the last tournaments of the evening to play out was the VND 5M Event #56: Hyper Turbo, which drew a decently sized field of 238 entries (194 unique).

It took twenty-seven turbo-charged 10-minute levels to find a winner, with the UK's Simon Burns the man to take the biggest slice of the VND 1,038,870,000 (\~$42,700) prize pool.

Burns bettered Vietnam's Ta Nhat Vu heads-up to earn a VND 195,624,000 (\~$8,025) top prize, with Vu earning a VND 172,046,000 (\~$7,060) payout for his runner-up finish.

India's Yagyavalk Bhatt took bronze and a payout of VND 104,300,000 (\~$4,280) for third.

Thailand's Peerathat Sukpaisarn took down his first live tournament to claim his maiden APT title in Event #57: Hyper Turbo All In or Fold

One of the faster events on the schedule, the VND 3M Event #57: Super Hyper Turbo - All In or Fold drew 130 entries (106 unique), who battled over twenty-seven high octane 5-minute levels for a share of the VND 340,470,000 (\~$13,980) prize pool.

It was Thailand's Peerathat Sukpaisarn who proved to be the most successful at winning all in confrontations, edging out Singapore's Alwin Rong to claim his first live tournament score and maiden APT title, in addition to the VND 85,640,000 (\~$3,510) top prize.

Rong received VND 57,880,000 (\$2,380) for his runner-up finish, with Hong Kong's Alan Pun also going deep and taking third place, which was good for a VND 37,620,000 (\$1,550).
