JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, January 30, 2026– Welcome to the season-opener of the Asian Poker Tour’s 20-Year Anniversary, APT Jeju Classic 2026! The festival continues the momentum set by our record-breaking year in 2025. Kicking things off is the National Cup, which drew 690 entries, building a prize pool of KRW 486 million (~USD 341,000) over three flights played today.
In addition, several regular APT-goers have made Day 1 appearances across the eight events played today, including APT all-time money list topper Joseph Cheong, serial mixed games winner Qibang Cheong, and Natural8 ambassador Nevan Chang all looking to make head starts in the Tour this year.

Xiao Bei Breaks Through with Maiden Title in Event #3: High Roller – Single Day

Xiao Bei scores a big one for his first APT title
Xiao Bei delivered a breakout performance at APT Jeju Classic 2026, capturing his first APT title in Event #3: High Roller – Single Day. The Chinese amateur topped a 40-entry field of high rollers to secure the KRW 35,260,000 (~USD 24,745) top prize, marking the biggest live cash of his career to date.
Finishing just behind him was Jian Cheng Ng Leonard with a runner-up result worth KRW 24,360,000 (~USD 17,094). The Malaysian amateur, who recorded three cashes at the APT Championship 2025, came close to a maiden title but had to settle for second after his first deep run.
Completing the podium was Nevan Chang, who collected KRW 15,550,000 (~USD 10,912) for third place. The Natural8 ambassador and Taiwanese pro made a strong start to his Jeju Classic campaign, positioning himself early as a contender as he continues his pursuit of a ninth APT title.
Just missing out on the podium was Sparrow Cheung, who finished fourth for KRW 11,920,000 (~USD 8,364). The Natural8 ambassador and Hong Kong pro also opened his APT season positively, signalling early intent in the high-stakes events at Jeju.

Gkatzas Announces Arrival with Debut Victory in Event #2: PL Omaha High

Gkatzas makes a succecssful debut on the Asian Poker Tour
Dimitrios Gkatzas could not have scripted a more emphatic introduction to the Asian Poker Tour. Making his debut appearance on the circuit, the Greek professional captured his first APT title in Event #2: PL Omaha High, topping a competitive field of 23 entries to secure the KRW 5,582,886 (~USD 3,917) top prize.
Thailand’s Suriyakarn Sorawit continued his steady pursuit of a maiden APT title with a runner-up finish worth KRW 3,720,000 (~USD 2,610). The Thai pro, who has made several final table appearances in recent APT tournaments, once again fell just short but has shown consistency at the business end at APT events.
Rounding out the top three was Qibang Cheung, who earned KRW 2,390,000 (~USD 1,677) for his third-place finish. The mixed-games specialist, fresh from capturing two titles at the APT Championship 2025, made his first final table appearance and first cash of the Jeju Classic series as he continues to add to an already formidable collection of seven APT trophies.

Wang Secures Maiden Victory in Event #4: Fixed Limit – Triple Draw Mix

Wang takes top spot for his first APT title
Tianyu Wang captured his first APT title in Event #4: Fixed Limit – Triple Draw Mix (A-5, 2-7). The Chinese player topped a 32-entry field to claim the KRW 4,145,000 (~USD 2,908) top prize, adding a mixed-game title to his poker résumé after previously finishing 17th in the APT Jeju 2025 Main Event.
An ICM deal was struck between Wang with fellow compatriot Daqiao Jiang, who finished runner-up for KRW 4,055,512 (~USD 2,846), Patrick Quealy from the United States rounded out the podium in third place, earning KRW 2,130,000 (~USD 1,494).

Xinjing Li Secures Maiden Victory in Event #5: Turbo – High Roller

Li takes down his first APT title
Xinjing Li achieved a personal milestone by capturing his first-ever tournament poker title in Event #5: Turbo – High Roller. The Chinese amateur topped a 33-entry field to claim his first APT trophy along with the KRW 15,818,000 (~USD 11,100) top prize.
Li led an all-China podium finish, with Kaihua Huang pushing him closest before settling for second place worth KRW 10,910,000 (~USD 7,656). Completing the sweep was Xiao Liu, who earned KRW 6,950,000 (~USD 4,877) for third place.

Hu Breaks Through in Event #6: Hyper Turbo

Hu had done it with his first APT victory
Cheng Xu Hu added an APT trophy to his accomplished résumé by capturing his first APT title in Event #6: Hyper Turbo. The Chinese pro, who boasts over USD 1 million in live tournament earnings, topped a 32-entry field to secure the KRW 4,850,512 (~USD 3,404) first-place prize.
It was an all-China podium finish, with Liu Qing finishing runner-up for KRW 3,350,000 (~USD 2,350) after a strong showing in the turbo format. Chen Hao completed the top three, earning KRW 2,130,000 (~USD 1,494).

Zhou Claims First Title in Event #7: Hyper Turbo – NL Omaha High

Zhou takes the top prize
Zhi Hang Zhou marked his breakthrough moment at APT Jeju Classic 2026 by capturing his first APT title in Event #7: Hyper Turbo – NL Omaha High. The Chinese amateur topped a 35-entry field to secure the KRW 3,679,896 (~USD 2,582) top prize.
Japan’s Kai Suzuki finished runner-up for KRW 3,321,000 (~USD 2,331), pushing Zhou closely in the closing stages before settling for second place. Greece’s Emmanouil Chalkiotis completed the podium, earning KRW 1,820,000 (~USD 1,277) with a solid third-place finish.

Ivanich Walks the Talk with Victory in Event #8: Super Hyper Turbo – NLH

Ivanich adds more weight to his words by winning his first APT title
Kyle “PocketKyles” Ivanich has shown that he can finish on the felt on by capturing his first APT title in Event #8: Super Hyper Turbo – NLH. The APT commentator outlasted a 48-entry field to secure the KRW 4,231,075 (~USD 2,969) top prize, finally converting a string of deep runs in prior festivals into a long-awaited victory.
Ivanich entered the event with six APT cashes and three final table appearances, but this time he went one step further. In doing so, he proved that life behind the microphone does not preclude success at the tables, firmly walking the talk when it mattered most!
Japan’s Taisaku Iwao finished runner-up for KRW 3,060,000 (~USD 2,147), putting together a strong performance before falling just short of the title. Battulga Byanbajav of Mongolia rounded out the top three, earning KRW 1,950,000 (~USD 1,368) after a solid showing.
