INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 9, 2026 – Running August 7–16 in partnership with Paradise Group, Day 3 of APT Incheon 2026 (#APTIncheon2026) saw the topflight tournament action ramping up. The day marked the arrival of the opening Flight A of the KRW 2.5 million (~USD 1,700) buy-in APT Main Event and its hefty KRW 1.5 billion (~USD 1 million) guarantee.

That wasn’t the only event offering lion hunters a shot at big game, with Day 1 of the KRW 15 million (~USD 10,600) buy-in APT Super High Roller also getting underway with a slew of former champions all setting their sights on bagging a second coveted Pewter Lion Trophy.

In addition, the tournament tables of the palatial Paradise City Casino Resort were packed with a further ten tournaments. These included an eclectic selection of Omaha, draw poker, and mixed games, plus the KRW 3 million (~USD 2,100) PL Omaha High Roller, and the KRW 500,000 (~USD 355) buy-in Sunday Super Stack, the latter of which set a new tour country record for entries.

APT Incheon Main Event up to 447 Entries; Japan’s Takayuki Akamatsu Tops Flight A

The award-winning Gold Lion APT Main Event Trophy

Action is coming to the boil on Day 3 of the APT Incheon 2026 festival as Flight A of the KRW 2.5 million (~USD 1,700) APT Main Event brought the tournament field to 447 entries.

While 282 entries earned their spots via online Day 1s on Natural8, 165 entries battled it out live on-site in pursuit of the KRW 1.5 billion (~USD 1 million) guarantee.

By the end of ten grueling 60-minute levels, 70 live Flight A survivors punched their tickets to Day 2, with Japan’s Takayuki Akamatsu bagging the top stack of 241,000.

China’s Jian Ting Cai (234,700), and Hong Kong’s Andrei Chan (200,200) rounded out the top three stacks, with the top ten as follows:

Two former Main Event winners still in the hunt for a second shot at bagging the Gold Lion APT Main Event Trophy after Flight A are APT Manila 2024 champion Daniel Lee (85,150), and APT Jeju Classic 2025 champion William Li (45,800).

Other notables to make it through included APT Phu Quoc 2024 High Roller champion Jason Lau (108,600), Thailand’s Napat Chokejindachai (107,600), South African bracelet winner Adriaan Jacobs (104,700), and five-time Women’s Event winner Yue Sun (33,700).

While APT Manila Classic 2025 Main Event champion Ivan Govorov, and APT Taipei Poker Classic 2024 Super High Roller champion Phanlert Sukonthachartnant were unable to make the cut, with three more starting flights left to play out, there are still opportunities for those unsuccessful in their endeavours to win their way through.

Flight B gets underway at 11am (KST) on Monday, August 10, with players competing over six 45-minute levels and four 60-minute levels.

The final two starting Flights C & D—both boasting six 30-minute levels and four 45-minute levels each—get underway on Tuesday, August 11, at 11am and 6pm respectively local time, although late registration remains open until the end of level 11 on Day 2, which kicks off at 11am on Wednesday, August 12.

The festival's biggest bankrolls collided on Day 3 as the KRW 15 million (~USD 10,600) APT Super High Roller sparked into life. An elite 58-entry field (48 unique) built a lucrative KRW 801,705,000 (~USD 575,525) prize pool, setting the stage for a high-stakes showdown for the KRW 236,325,000 (~USD 169,650) top prize, the coveted Pewter Lion Trophy, and a USD 10,000 (~KRW 13.93M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

When the final bags were sealed after sixteen 40-minute levels, Japan’s Reoma Ogawa led the charge, bagging 2,335,000 chips (78 big blinds) as he hunts for a breakthrough career-first major victory.

Natural8 Ambassador and tour regular Chih Wei Fan sits just behind Ogawa in the counts, concluding the action with a stack of 1,950,000 (65 big blinds). The Taiwanese player will be keen to add one of the APT’s signature Mega Lion trophies to his mantelpiece to join the Black Stealth Lion Superstar Challenge Trophy and Gold Lion silhouette Baby Superstar Challenge Trophy he already possesses.

The Netherlands’ Michel Molenaar sits third in the counts with 1,620,000 (54 big blinds) and is gunning for a fourth career APT title and maiden Mega Lion victory.

Just 14 players remain in contention and with only the top eight places paid, there is still plenty of high-octane high-stakes action left in the tank before the latest APT Super High Roller champion is crowned.

Other notables still in the running include tour regular John Perry (1,030,000), former APT High Roller champions Martin Sedlak (1,030,000) and Phachara Wongwichit (385,000), and Natural8 Ambassador Nevan Chang (560,000).

Pakorn Duangtrakan claimed his maiden tournament title and a career best score

Railbirds at the Paradise City Casino Resort were treated to a real spectacle as the KRW 900,000 (~USD 640) buy-in Mystery Bounty Hunter – Sponsored by Natural8 reached its thrilling conclusion.

A sizable KRW 395,808,000 (~USD 284,140) prize pool and a further KRW 260,400,000 (~USD 186,935) bounty pool generated by a sprawling field of 868 entries (497 unique players) from 32 nations set up a high-octane final-day frenzy as the 122 returning survivors—already guaranteed a KRW 840,000 (~USD 600) payday—hunted for big-money bounty envelopes.

When the dust settled, Thailand’s Pakorn Duangtrakan stood as the champion. Navigating the tournament minefield and holding his nerve at a final table he entered as the third-shortest stack, Duangtrakan captured the trophy, a career-best KRW 59,000,000 (~USD 42,300) top prize, and his maiden live tournament title after cutting an ICM deal with Japanese opponent Nishikido Nobuhiro.

Duangtrakan earned an additional KRW 12,950,000 (~USD 9,300) in bounties after claiming seven scalps. Nobuhiro, who held the chip lead at the time of the deal, earned KRW 60,117,000 (~USD 43,156) for his runner-up finish and first recorded live cash.

The duo played it out for an additional KRW 2,938,000 (~USD 2,100) in cash, alongside the title and trophy. The Japanese player also banked an additional KRW 6,300,000 (~USD 4,520) in bounties after busting eight opponents.

Japan’s Tetsuya Tsujisaka rounded out the last of the podium positions, earning KRW 32,000,000 (~USD 22,970) for his third-place finish—the second largest score of his poker career to date—plus an additional KRW 25,000,000 (~USD 17,950) in bounties after sending seven players to the rail.

However, it was 11th place finisher Anton Kozko of Russia who proved to be bounty-hunting top dog, pulling the KRW 30,900,000 (~USD 22,180) top bounty in addition to four more to collect a combined payout of KRW 38,880,000 (~USD 27,910).
