INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 15, 2026– The finish line is almost in sight at APT Incheon 2026, but there is still plenty of poker to be played before Paradise City closes the book on another memorable festival. With just one day remaining after today, opportunities to leave Incheon with a trophy are quickly running out, adding a little extra urgency to every trip to the tables.
Day 9 brings another busy slate of side events, where familiar faces and fresh contenders alike have one eye on the remaining silverware before the festival reaches its finale tomorrow.

Sakiyama Lands Life-Changing Score in Record-Breaking Event #80: Mini Main Event
Sakiyama makes a life-changing score for his first APT title
The record-breaking APT Incheon 2026 Mini Main Event has found its champion, with Japan's Toru Sakiyama overcoming the huge multi-flight field to capture one of the festival's biggest titles. The event smashed its KRW 400 million guarantee, setting new benchmarks in Incheon before the survivors from three starting flights returned to battle for the title.
Sakiyama ultimately emerged as the last player standing, walking away with a massive KRW 189,982,000 (~USD 134,739) first-place prize and a seat to the APT Championship 2026 Main Event in November.
It was a truly transformative result for Sakiyama. The Japanese player's previous career-best live cash stood at just USD 3,099, with only USD 8,063 in total recorded live earnings before this tournament. His Mini Main Event payday is therefore worth more than 43 times his previous best score and over 16 times his prior lifetime earnings, while also delivering the first APT title of his career.
The breakthrough scores extended across the top three. Japan's Shingo Matsushima entered the event with no recorded live tournament cashes but left Paradise City with an enormous KRW 108,770,000 (~USD 77,142) payday after finishing runner-up.
The United States' Andrew Geonwoong Choi had just one recorded live cash to his name before the Mini Main Event, worth USD 2,939. His third-place finish smashed that previous benchmark, earning him KRW 76,600,000 (~USD 54,326) for a career-defining result.

Nakayama Leads 84 Survivors Into Ultra Stack Final Day; KRW 65.6 Million Awaits the Champion
The two-day Event #90: Ultra Stack has drawn 588 entries across its three starting flights, building a KRW 339 million prize pool as another sizeable field descended on Paradise City with one of the final major side-event titles of APT Incheon 2026 up for grabs.
Players had three opportunities to book their place in the Final Day, with Flights A, B, and C each playing down to the top 14% of the field. Reaching that threshold also meant reaching the money.
With all three starting flights now complete, 84 survivors will return tomorrow for one final battle at the tables. Everyone coming back is guaranteed at least KRW 1,060,000 (~USD 752), but the real prize awaits at the other end of the day, where the eventual champion will walk away with KRW 65,639,878 (~USD 46,553) and one of the last APT trophies to be awarded in Incheon.
Here's how the leading contenders emerged from each of the three starting flights.
Flight A
Japan's Shoma Ishikawa emerged on top of the Flight A counts, putting together an imposing stack of 2,600,000 chips to lead the first group of Ultra Stack survivors through to the Final Day.
Close behind was Taiwanese pro and Natural8 ambassador Hua Wei Lin, who finished the flight with 2,535,000. The United States' Kevin Chong Moon made it a tightly packed leading trio, bagging 2,505,000, leaving just 95,000 chips separating the top three.
FLIGHT A TOP FIVE CHIP STACKS
Flight B
Japan's Takumi Nakayama emerged with the biggest stack from Flight B of the Ultra Stack, amassing a commanding 2,700,000 chips by the time the field reached ITM. Nakayama will also be the overall chip leader going into the Final Day of the event.
Nakayama finished almost 800,000 chips clear of compatriot Masaki Yoshitane, who bagged 1,908,000 to take the second spot in the Flight B counts. Taiwan's Po Hao Liao was not far behind, advancing with 1,755,000 to complete the leading trio.
FLIGHT B TOP FIVE CHIP STACKS
Flight C
Japan's Kyohei Tobita led the way as Flight C brought the starting-flight action in Event #90: Ultra Stack to a close, bagging 1,872,000 chips to head the final group of players through to the Final Day.
China's Jie Zheng finished second in the Flight C counts with 1,444,000, while Japan's Ken Matsubara rounded out the leading trio after accumulating 1,208,000.

Nakanishi Adds APT Title to Résumé in Event #91: PL Omaha High - Heads Up
Nakanishi takes down his first APT title
Japanese pro Shota Nakanishi added another accolade to his impressive poker résumé after taking down the 28-entry Event #91: PL Omaha High - Heads Up, earning KRW 7,792,358 (~USD 5,526) and his maiden APT title
With more than USD 1.5 million in live tournament earnings and a WSOP bracelet already to his name, Nakanishi entered the contest with plenty of experience behind him. The Japanese pro successfully negotiated the heads-up knockout format before overcoming compatriot Daichi Kurashima in the final match to secure his first piece of APT silverware.
Kurashima collected KRW 5,200,000 (~USD 3,688) for his runner-up finish, while Daiki Aoki continued his strong APT Incheon campaign with a third-place finish worth KRW 2,800,000 (~USD 1,986).

Suriyakarn Secures Fifth APT Title in Event #93: Masters Mix Game - 9-Game
Suriyakarn takes it over the line for his fifth APT title
Thai pro Sorawit Suriyakarn added another piece of silverware to his collection after taking down the 33-entry Event #93: Masters Mix Game - 9-Game, earning KRW 15,818,000 (~USD 11,218) for the victory.
Suriyakarn has been a constant presence at the mixed-game tables throughout APT Incheon 2026, recording several deep runs over the course of the festival. This time, the Thai pro converted one into victory, navigating the nine-game mix to secure the fifth APT title of his career.
Russia's Mikhail Fedotov came closest to denying Suriyakarn the trophy, eventually taking second place for KRW 10,910,000 (~USD 7,738). Fellow Thai Paul Nattapatsiri, himself a four-time APT champion following his victory in Event #72: Masters Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud earlier in the festival, finished third for KRW 6,950,000 (~USD 4,929).

Maeda Lands Career-Best Score in Event #94: NL - Hold'em – Freezeout
Maeda makes a significant score for his first APT title
Japan's Yuji Maeda enjoyed the biggest victory of his poker career after overcoming the 171-entry field in Event #94: NL - Hold'em – Freezeout, collecting KRW 54,970,400 (~USD 38,986) and his maiden APT title.
Maeda had recorded a handful of results on the live circuit before arriving in Incheon, but his latest run comfortably eclipsed anything that had come before. The Japanese player went the distance to secure his first piece of APT silverware while setting a new career-best live tournament score.
It proved to be an all-Japanese top three, with Kenta Takahara finishing runner-up for KRW 37,230,000 (~USD 26,404). Keisuke Taniguchi completed the trio after taking third place for KRW 24,820,000 (~USD 17,603).

Chumkham Makes Winning Debut in Event #95: Women's Event
Chumkham makes a winning start to her poker career
Thailand's Patthanant Chumkham made her first recorded live tournament cash one to remember, taking down Event #95: Women's Event for KRW 5,411,574 (~USD 3,838) and her maiden APT title.
With no recorded live tournament results prior to the event, Chumkham went all the way in Incheon, turning her first appearance on the live results sheet into a victory and her first piece of APT silverware.
China's Yue Sun came close to adding yet another title to her impressive Women's Event record, but ultimately finished runner-up for KRW 3,850,000 (~USD 2,730). Japan's Tamura Chizuru completed the top three, collecting KRW 2,520,000 (~USD 1,787).

So manages his first APT title
Hong Kong's Siu Nam So finally got his hands on a maiden APT trophy after taking down the 49-entry Event #96: Fixed Limit - Dealer's Choice - Triple Draw, earning KRW 7,635,705 (~USD 5,415) for the victory.
So had already come close to silverware earlier at APT Incheon 2026, including a runner-up finish in Event #26: Fixed Limit - Triple Draw Mix. This time, the Hong Kong player went one better, navigating another mixed-game contest to secure the first APT title of his career.
Japan's Kazuhiro Shirasawa finished runner-up for KRW 5,520,000 (~USD 3,915), while compatriot Daisuke Someya rounded out the top three with KRW 3,520,000 (~USD 2,496).

Zhang Strikes for Second APT Title in Event #97: Turbo - NL - Omaha Hi-Lo - Stairway to Seven
Zhang makes it to his second APT title
Chinese pro Lan Te Zhang added a second APT title to his résumé after conquering the 33-entry Event #97: Turbo - NL - Omaha Hi-Lo - Stairway to Seven, collecting KRW 3,910,844 (~USD 2,774) for the victory.
With more than USD 450,000 in live tournament earnings, Zhang brought plenty of experience to the mixed-game contest and converted it into another piece of APT silverware. The victory came shortly after Zhang reached the final table of Event #93: Masters Mix Game - 9-Game, where he finished fifth.
Taiwanese mixed-games specialist Li Ta Hsu came close to adding an 11th APT title to his collection, but ultimately settled for second place and KRW 2,690,000 (~USD 1,908). Russia's Daniil Shalaev, already a multiple-time winner at APT Incheon 2026, completed the top three for KRW 1,720,000 (~USD 1,220).

Leung shuts the rest out for his second APT title
Hong Kong's Siu Ki Leung secured the second APT title of his career after conquering Event #98: Hyper Turbo Home Games - NL - Hold'em - Bomb Pot - Double Board, earning KRW 3,390,985 (~USD 2,405) for the victory.
The event brought an added dose of chaos to the Home Games schedule with its all-in-or-fold format, leaving players with little room for hesitation as they battled across double-board bomb pots. Leung successfully navigated the action to emerge with another piece of APT silverware.
Japan's Shintaro Matsumoto came closest to stopping Leung, eventually finishing runner-up for KRW 2,410,000 (~USD 1,709). Sri Lanka's Mapitiyage Chanushika Lakshendri Peiris rounded out the top three, taking home KRW 1,580,000 (~USD 1,121).

Liu Makes It Three in Event #99: Hyper Turbo - NL - Dealer's Choice 7 Card Stud
Liu takes down his third APT title of the festival
China's Qing Liu continued a superb APT Incheon 2026 campaign by topping the 25-entry Event #99: Hyper Turbo - NL - Dealer's Choice 7 Card Stud, collecting KRW 3,360,640 (~USD 2,383) for the victory.
The win marks Liu's third APT title of the festival, having already tasted victory in Event #55: Hyper Turbo - No Limit - 7 Card Super Stud. The Chinese player has been a consistent presence across the mixed-game tables in Incheon and added another trophy to his growing collection late in the series.
The United Kingdom's Qibang Cheung once again came agonisingly close to adding to his APT trophy collection, finishing runner-up for KRW 2,240,000 (~USD 1,589). Remarkably, this was Cheung's fourth runner-up finish of APT Incheon 2026, having also taken second in Events #12, #23 and #40. The Netherlands' Martijn Johannes Gerrits added yet another deep run to his festival with third place and KRW 1,440,000 (~USD 1,021).

Mochimaru crosses the finish line for his first APT title
Japanese amateur Yasutaka Mochimaru came out on top of the 157-entry Event #100: Super Hyper Turbo – NLH, taking home KRW 10,223,516 (~USD 7,251) and his first APT title.
With the Super Hyper Turbo format leaving little time for hesitation, Mochimaru successfully navigated a large field of competitors before closing out the tournament to secure his maiden piece of APT silverware.
China's Yifeng Dong came closest to denying Mochimaru the title, finishing runner-up for KRW 6,920,000 (~USD 4,908). Japan's Mai Omori completed the top three, collecting KRW 4,620,000 (~USD 3,277).
