INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 14, 2026– Day 8 has arrived at APT Incheon 2026, and with the weekend looming, Paradise City is gearing up for another busy day on the felt. The Mini Main Event steps into the spotlight today, offering players another shot at a major festival score as the action begins to build towards the final weekend.

Beyond that, there is still plenty happening across the poker room, with side-event specialists, familiar faces, and first-time hopefuls all looking to make the most of the time they have left in Incheon.

Ikejiri Leads the Charge Into the Mini Main Event Final Day

The Mini Main Event has taken centre stage on Day 8 of APT Incheon 2026, with the popular tournament attracting 1,427 entries and sending the prize pool soaring to KRW 1,078,812,000 (~USD 770,580), comfortably surpassing the KRW 400 million guarantee. The guarantee was already surpassed when Flight A ended its late registration.

The huge turnout has also set new APT country records for a Mini Main Event in both field size and prize pool. The 1,427-entry field eclipsed the previous record of 1,029 entries, set at APT Incheon 2025, by 398 entries. It is also the second biggest Mini Main Event ever ran in the APT New Era.

With multiple starting flights feeding into the next stage, players have been arriving in numbers for their shot at one of the festival's biggest remaining prizes. Each flight plays down to the top 14% of the field, meaning only those who survive the bubble will advance, already safely in the money with a min cash of (~USD 979). At the end of the night, 199 survivors remain to contend for the KRW 189,982,000 (~USD 134,739) first-place prize when play resumes tomorrow.

There is an additional prize waiting for whoever eventually conquers the field. Alongside the lion's share of the prize pool and the Mini Main Event trophy, the champion will receive a coveted seat to the APT Championship 2026 Main Event in November, giving them the chance to turn their Incheon success into an even bigger result later this year.

Flight A

Japan's Akifumi Ikejiri emerged at the head of the first group of survivors, as well as the overall chip leader going into the Final Day, turning his starting stack into an imposing 1,158,000 chips by the time Flight A reached the end of day’s play.

Thailand's Pannakit Thankarn was not far behind and joined Ikejiri in the seven-figure club, bagging 1,029,000 to advance with the second-largest stack of the flight.

China's Yun Long Jin completed the Flight A top three with 865,000, giving the trio the early advantage as they successfully booked their places in the money and the next stage of the Mini Main Event.

FLIGHT A TOP FIVE CHIP STACKS

Flight B

Japan's Shouta Kawano emerged on top of the counts of Flight B, bagging 854,000 chips and will go into the Final Day amongst the top chip stacks.

There was little separating the leading trio, with Hong Kong pro King Chun Horace Leung finishing just behind Kawano on 830,000. Thailand's Chaiwut Jungpongsakorn was only a fraction further back, advancing with 828,000 to complete the Flight B top three.

FLIGHT B TOP FIVE CHIP STACKS

Flight C

Japan's Ryoya Enomoto set the pace in Flight C of the Mini Main Event, bagging 961,000 chips after the final flight of the event concluded its play late at night.

Enomoto finished comfortably ahead of compatriot Ruki Nishibata, who advanced with 799,000, while Hirohisa Yukawa rounded out an all-Japanese top three with 703,000.

Tsang Takes Down Event #81: Open Face Chinese Poker - Heads Up

Tsang takes down her first APT title

Hong Kong's Sin Yee Tsang secured her maiden APT title after taking down the 11-entry Event #81: Open Face Chinese Poker - Heads Up, earning KRW 9,056,000 (~USD 6,423) for the victory.

The format made its return to the APT schedule in Incheon, having last been contested at APT Incheon 2025. With no recorded live tournament cashes prior to the event, Tsang made her breakthrough appearance a memorable one, turning her first recorded cash into a piece of APT silverware.

Japan's Naruhito Baba was the other player to make it through to the money, finishing runner-up for KRW 5,200,000 (~USD 3,688). Baba had already reached the final table of Event #78: Hyper Turbo - NL 8 Game earlier in the festival, where he finished fifth.

Tang Completes 2D Stealth Lion Set in Event #82: High Roller - 9-Game

Tang becomes the first person to collect every version of the 2D Stealth Lion Trophy

Hong Kong poker pro Daniel Tang added another APT title to his collection after coming out on top of Event #82: High Roller - 9-Game, earning KRW 27,818,000 (~USD 19,729) for the victory.

Tang sits atop Hong Kong's All-Time Money List and brought a wealth of experience to the 29-entry mixed-game contest. The victory saw the decorated pro secure the fifth APT title of his career, but it also came with a unique piece of APT history.

By capturing the Gold 2D Stealth Lion trophy, Tang became the first player to complete the full set of 2D Stealth Lions, having now collected the Silver, Gold, and Black versions of the coveted trophy.

Japan's Yamashiki Takuro came closest to stopping Tang, eventually taking second place for KRW 19,170,000 (~USD 13,596), while Australia's Troy David Mcfarlane Mclean finished third for KRW 12,210,000 (~USD 8,660).

Kevin Choi, who captured his fifth APT title earlier in the festival in Event #53: Turbo - NL Hi-Lo Dealer Button's Choice, finished fourth, while the Netherlands' Martijn Johannes Gerrits took fifth.

Song Secures Second APT Title in Event #84: Fixed Limit - Octo Razz

Song locks down his second APT title for the festival

China's Lei Song added a second APT title to his résumé after coming out on top of the 34-entry Event #84: Fixed Limit - Octo Razz, collecting KRW 3,010,652 (~USD 2,135) for the victory.

Song has been a regular presence across the tables at APT Incheon 2026, recording several cashes over the course of the festival. His latest run saw him go all the way in the mixed-game contest, adding another piece of APT silverware to his collection.

It proved to be a clean sweep for China in the top three, with Anqi Luo finishing runner-up for KRW 2,080,000 (~USD 1,475). Event #76: Turbo - NL Omaha Hi-Lo - 5 Card (Big O) champion Yang Lu came close to securing his second title of the festival, but ultimately took third for KRW 1,330,000 (~USD 943).

Kojima Makes Breakthrough in Event #85: Hyper Turbo - Women's Event

Kojima celebrates her first APT title and live cash

Japan's Yuika Kojima made her first recorded live tournament cash a winning one after topping the 48-entry Event #85: Hyper Turbo - Women's Event, earning KRW 4,831,228 (~USD 3,426) and her maiden APT title.

With no recorded live cashes prior to the tournament, Kojima enjoyed a memorable breakthrough at Paradise City. The Japanese player navigated the fast-paced field all the way to victory, leaving with both her first recorded live tournament payday and her first piece of APT silverware.

It was an all-Japanese top four, with Sumire Hori finishing runner-up for KRW 3,490,000 (~USD 2,475). Yuko Mizuno took third place and KRW 2,230,000 (~USD 1,582), while Hijiri Iwanaga followed in fourth for KRW 1,690,000 (~USD 1,199).

Hayami Takes Down Event #86: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Double Board Bomb Pot - Red River

Hayami victorious with his first APT title

Japan's Ryo Hayami emerged victorious from the 63-entry Event #86: Turbo - NL Omaha High - Double Board Bomb Pot - Red River, taking home KRW 5,881,612 (~USD 4,171) for his best finish so far in his poker career.

APT commentator Kyle Ivanich made a serious run at adding a second APT title to his résumé. The Canadian successfully navigated his way to heads-up play, but ultimately fell one spot short, collecting KRW 4,230,000 (~USD 3,000) as runner-up.

Taiwanese mixed-games specialist Li Ta Hsu was also in the hunt for more silverware after winning his tenth APT title earlier in the festival. Hsu's latest challenge ended in third place, adding KRW 2,750,000 (~USD 1,950) to his Incheon haul.

Arai Lands Career-Best Score in Event #87: Turbo - High Roller

Arai comes up with the goods for his first APT title

Japan's Yuta Arai enjoyed the biggest victory of his poker career after taking down Event #87: Turbo - High Roller, pocketing KRW 36,028,000 (~USD 25,552) and his maiden APT title.

Arai had recorded several live tournament results before arriving in Incheon, but none matched his latest performance. The Japanese player made a great run here, eventually closing out the tournament to secure his first piece of APT silverware and comfortably set a new career-best live score.

Taiwan's Yen Han Chen pushed Arai all the way before ultimately finishing runner-up for KRW 25,970,000 (~USD 18,418), while Japan's Fumito Murayama rounded out the top three with a KRW 16,880,000 (~USD 11,972) payday.

Toshiki Comes Up Trumps in Event #88: Hyper Turbo Home Games - Red River Hold'em

Toshiki comes out on top for his first APT title and live cash

Japan's Tanaka Toshiki marked his arrival at the APT in style, taking down Event #88: Hyper Turbo Home Games - Red River Hold'em for KRW 2,890,793 (~USD 2,050).

With no recorded live tournament cashes prior to the event, Toshiki made his first one count. The Japanese player conquered the Red River Hold'em format to go all the way at Paradise City, securing both his maiden APT title and first recorded live payday in the process.

The United Kingdom's** Ho Yiu Chung** came closest to denying Toshiki the breakthrough victory, finishing runner-up for KRW 2,080,000 (~USD 1,475). Japan's Yuto Hasegawa claimed third place and KRW 1,350,000 (~USD 957).

Aoki Adds Fifth APT Title in Event #89: Hyper Turbo - NL Triple Draw Mix

Aoki goes up to five APT titles

Japanese pro Daiki Aoki added another trophy to his collection after taking down Event #89: Hyper Turbo - NL Triple Draw Mix, earning KRW 4,610,998 (~USD 3,270) and the fifth APT title of his career.

Aoki had already come close to victory earlier at APT Incheon 2026, finishing runner-up in Event #72: Masters Fixed Limit Seven Card Stud and fourth in Event #64: Turbo - NL Drawmaha Mix. His latest trip to the final table ended differently, with the Japanese pro going all the way to secure another piece of APT silverware.

Hong Kong's Tsz Fung Wong finished runner-up for KRW 3,180,000 (~USD 2,255), while compatriot Chi Shing Man took third place for KRW 2,030,000 (~USD 1,440).
