TAIPEI, TAIWAN, May 3, 2026– It is the final day of APT Taipei 2026, and what a festival it has been! For the seventh time in a row, the Asian Poker Tour has run a record-breaking festival in terms of entries and unique entries, with APT Taipei bringing in 26,009 total tournament entries and 3,890 unique entries, while paying out over TWD 598,932,533 (~USD 19,135,225) in prize pools.

The last day of the festival still saw lots of action as players take their final chances in getting their hands on a lion trophy. In addition, Main Event Seats to the Tour’s return to Taipei at the APT Championship 2026 were also given away today in the Final Days of the Ultra Stack and the APT High Roller.

Three-Way Deal at Monster Stack Finale; Local Hsuan Takes it Down

Event #171: Labour Day Monster Stack reached its conclusion at APT Taipei 2026 after drawing a massive 2,135 entries and building a prize pool of TWD 6,000,000 (~USD 191,693). A total of 109 players returned for the Final Day.

As play progressed deep into the finale, the final three players agreed to an ICM deal, leaving TWD 65,200 (~USD 2,083) and the title still up for grabs. It was Taiwan’s Huang Chi Hsuan who ultimately emerged victorious, capturing his first APT title and first recorded cash for TWD 692,000 (~USD 22,108). From a buy-in of TWD 3,500, Huang turned his entry into nearly 198 times his investment, marking a remarkable breakthrough performance for the local newcomer.

Japan’s Momoi Kazusa also enjoyed a standout run, securing his first career cash with a runner-up finish worth TWD 471,200 (~USD 15,054). Meanwhile, Taiwan’s Wu Yung-Kuei rounded out the podium with TWD 632,300 (~USD 20,201), recording his first APT cash in the process after a deep and consistent showing.

Micro Main Event Crowns Champion; Amateur Chien Takes it Hom

Event #159: Micro Main Event delivered strong value and a competitive field at APT Taipei 2026, drawing 370 entries to generate a prize pool of TWD 4,526,400 (~USD 144,600), comfortably surpassing its TWD 2,000,000 guarantee. A total of 63 players made the money for the one-day event.

It was Taiwan’s Yunghan Chien who emerged victorious, capturing TWD 874,100 (USD 27,927) and more than doubling his lifetime tournament earnings with the win. Japan’s Seiru Nomura delivered an impressive showing of his own, recording his first career cash with a runner-up finish worth TWD 552,200 (USD 17,642). South Korea’s Sung Sik Eum, a regular on the circuit who primarily competes in the United States, rounded out the podium with TWD 396,100 (USD 12,655), marking his first result on Asian soil.

Mateo Doubles Up in Ultra Stack to Secure Ninth APT Title

Mateo strikes twice at Taipei

Event #146: Ultra Stack reached its conclusion, drawing 732 entries with 103 survivors returned for the Final Day to compete for a total prize pool of TWD 12,912,480 (~USD 412,539). With a minimum cash of TWD 34,000 (~USD 1,086) already secured, the remaining field battled not only for a share of the prize pool but also for a coveted seat into the APT Championship 2026 Main Event.

It was the Philippines’ Christopher Mateo who emerged victorious, claiming TWD 2,388,180 (USD 76,299) and his ninth APT title overall. Already enjoying a great run this series with a victory in Event #58: High Roller Mystery Bounty Single Day and one other cash, Mateo adds a second title in Taipei to his tally. The win also secures him a seat at the APT Championship 2026 Main Event.

India’s Amit Kaushik crossed a career milestone with his performance, finishing runner-up for TWD 1,460,300 (USD 46,654), crossing the USD 1 million mark in live tournament earnings in the process.

Japan’s Ryo Matsuoka, a relative newcomer to the tour rounded out the podium with a third-place finish worth TWD 1,043,200 (USD 33,328), recording a great result that sees him earn nearly ten times his previous lifetime earnings.
