TAIPEI, TAIWAN, MAY 1, 2025– Hong Kong’s Chung Lam Allan Kong secured the biggest payout of his poker career by triumphing in Event #85: NL Hold’em – Freezeout. The tournament drew a staggering 501 entries, making it one of the largest side events of the festival.
Kong, who prior to the event had yet to win a major title delivered an inspired performance from start to finish. In securing his first APT title, he also walked away with a personal-best payout of TWD 1,199,055 (~USD 37,005) — nearly nine times more than his previous largest score, and more than doubling his total live earnings in the process.
Taiwan’s Yu Hao Huang came up just short in the heads-up duel but secured a healthy runner-up payout of TWD 754,000 (~USD 23,271), while Japan’s Hiroaki Terasaka rounded out the podium in third place with TWD 540,000 (~USD 16,667).

Shen Takes Home First APT Title in Event #78: Limit Hold’em
Shen has shown consistent play in the limit format
Taiwan’s Po Chun Shen emerged victorious in Event #78: Limit Hold’em, topping a field of 84 entries to earn his first APT title. The local grinder showed consistent play throughout the limit format and walked away with TWD 147,126 (~USD 4,541) after outlasting a strong final table.
Chen Kai Yeh made it a one-two finish for Taiwan, securing second place and TWD 105,000 (~USD 3,240), while South Korea’s Ha Ram Joo rounded out the podium with TWD 69,000 (~USD 2,129) in third place.

Chen Scores First APT Title in Event #80: Women’s Event
Chen has shown consistent results since last year
Taiwan’s Sin Lan Chen emerged victorious in Event #80: Women’s Event, defeating a 78-entry field to secure her first APT title and a payday of TWD 282,600 (~USD 8,726). Having started to post regular results since early 2024, Chen has already amassed over USD 36,000 in live earnings, and this win follows two earlier cashes at APT Taipei 2025.
Hong Kong’s Wing Yin Lee finished in second place, earning TWD 201,500 (~USD 6,219), while fellow countrywoman Wong Wai Lam rounded out the podium with TWD 132,000 (~USD 4,074) for third.

Cheung Wins Third Title of the Series in Event #81: 7 Card Stud Masters
Cheung makes it three for the series
Qibang Cheung’s sensational run at APT Taipei 2025 continued as the British mixed games specialist secured his third title of the series with a win in Event #81: 7 Card Stud Masters. The victory follows his earlier triumphs in Event #40: Big "O" Masters – PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card and Event #54: Dealer’s Choice Masters, firmly establishing Cheung as one to look out for in the mixed game formats this festival.
Cheung topped a compact but competitive 23-entry field to claim TWD 292,520 (~USD 9,028), defeating Hong Kong’s Yun Lam Kevin Choi heads-up. Choi earned TWD 194,500 (~USD 6,006), while Aussie veteran Gary Steven Benson rounded out the podium with TWD 125,000 (~USD 3,858).

Chainani Claims Fourth APT Title in Event #83: PL Omaha High
Chainani adds a fourth APT title to his illustrious poker career
Singapore’s Dhanesh Chainani added yet another trophy to his decorated poker career, clinching his fourth career title in Event #83: PL Omaha High. A seasoned pro with over USD 700,000 in live earnings, he outlasted a 117-entry field to claim the top prize of TWD 276,973 (~USD 8,550). The win also marks his second cash of the series.
The top three made a three-way chop when play went down to the top three. Taiwan’s Kuan Ying Chen and Hong Kong’s Chi Keung Cheung both finished with matching runner-up payouts of TWD 246,972 (~USD 7,624).

Gui pockets his first APT title
Singapore’s Toh Shun Gui emerged victorious in Event #86: PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card (Big O) – Win the Button, topping a field of 91 entries to clinch his first-ever APT title. The Singaporean amateur, who had already picked up one cash earlier in the series,takes home a handsome payday of TWD 195,229 (~USD 6,026).
Russia’s Alexander Firsov took home TWD 137,500 (~USD 4,244) for his runner-up finish, while Japan’s Kazumasa Higuma rounded out the podium in third place with TWD 90,500 (~USD 2,793).

Already boasting three other final table appearances this series, the seasoned pro with over USD 800,000 in live earnings added another APT title to his growing trophy collection, banking TWD 72,808 (~USD 2,247) in the process.
American Winston Zhou Wright secured the runner-up spot and TWD 48,500 (~USD 1,497), while Japan’s Takuro Matsumoto rounded out the podium in third, earning TWD 31,000 (~USD 957).

Oh adds an APT title to his list of poker achievements
South Korea’s Junseok Oh finally secures his first APT title with a commanding victory in Event #90: Hyper Turbo – High Roller. The seasoned pro, who finished runner-up in the Main Event at APT Phu Quoc 2024 and is fast approaching USD 1 million in live earnings, added his first APT trophy to an impressive poker résumé. He outlasted a tough 52-entry field to take home TWD 495,980 (~USD 15,303), marking his second cash of the series.
Japan’s Shunta Sakamoto settled for second and TWD 357,500 (~USD 11,037), while compatriot Tamao Kobayashi took third, rounding out the podium with TWD 228,000 (~USD 7,037).
