TAIPEI, TAIWAN, April 27, 2026– With the first Mega Lion given away yesterday, the journey to the Rose Gold Mega Lion in the APT Main Event is now underway. The first flight saw 514 hopefuls try and build a Day 2 stack, with 199 succeeding in doing so. How many will join them today?
The high rollers are also battling out on two stages today; in the Superstar Challenge and the two-day High Roller - Ultra Stack event. Both tournaments will offer one APT Championship 2026 ticket. Who will emerge victorious?
Main Event Momentum Builds as Mixed Games and Mind Sports Take Centre Stage
Day 6 of APT Taipei 2026 saw attention shift firmly onto the Main Event, which is already shaping up to be another record-chasing headline tournament. After surpassing the 1,000-entry mark following Flight A yesterday, an additional 372 entries joined the field today, keeping the event on pace to potentially challenge, and even surpass the benchmark numbers set at APT Taipei 2025.
With two more flights still to come, anticipation continues to build as players from across the region and beyond look to position themselves for a deep run in the Main Event.

Over at the Asia Poker Arena (APA), Event #72: Masters Dealer’s Choice delivered a strong showing for the mixed games community, drawing 42 entries. Australia’s Jarryd Godena emerged victorious, capturing his eighth APT title in the process. Notably, Godena had also taken down the Dealer’s Choice Masters at the APT Championship 2025.

The day also marked the start of Mind Sports Week at APT Taipei 2026, adding another dimension to the festival experience. Chinese Chess opened the schedule with 19 participants taking part in the inaugural event. Attention now turns to tomorrow’s Chess competition, which is set to take centre stage at the Asia Poker Arena.

With Chess experiencing a significant surge in popularity across online streaming platforms in recent years, all eyes will be on whether that momentum translates into strong participation on the ground. Players and enthusiasts alike can join the action at 11:00 AM on April 28 at the APA.
Zhang Leads Stacked Field into Final Day of High Roller – Ultra Stack

Event #73: High Roller – Ultra Stack has set the stage for another high-stakes finish at APT Taipei 2026, with the two-day event drawing a massive 399 entries to build a prize pool of TWD 25,543,200 (~USD 816,716). In addition to the prize money, the eventual champion will also secure a coveted seat into the APT Championship Main Event, adding further incentive as the field heads into the Final Day.
China’s Mingchen Zhang sits atop the leaderboard after Day 1, bagging 1,797,000 in chips to take the overall lead. With over USD 200,000 in live tournament earnings, Zhang is now in prime position to capture his first APT title and record the biggest score of his career if he can carry this momentum through to the finish.
Hot on his heels is Japan’s Yuki Ozaki with 1,573,000 chips, who brings prior winning experience into the Final Day with one APT title already to his name. Close behind as well is the United States’ Ethan ‘Rampage’ Yau with 1,539,000 chips, who continues his strong run in Taipei after a third-place finish in the APT Super High Roller, and has once again put himself in contention for another deep run.
The top ten is packed with familiar names and proven performers. Kitty Kuo, a former APT Main Event champion and Natural8 ambassador, sits comfortably with a sizeable stack (1,294,000 chips) and will be eyeing her second APT title. Meanwhile, the Philippines’ Lester Edoc, one of the most decorated players in APT history with 20 titles, has also found his way into the top ten with 1,188,000 chips, positioning himself for a potential run at an incredible 21st trophy.
