JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, February 2, 2026– The Ultra Stack - High Roller event took the headlines today as the event set new records for entries on South Korean soil and became the richest ever ran in the APT New Era. Meanwhile, the Superstars of the festival took the felt for the start of the Superstar Challenge, the highest buy-in event the festival can offer. Making a run for himself is Tony‘Ren Lin, who had just binked the APT Super HIgh Roller on Day 3, and has poised himself to make a run at the Superstar Challenge.

Ultra Stack Smashes Records as Event #31: High Roller - Ultra Stack Advances to Day 2
Nguyen leads the pack in the record-breaking High Roller Ultra Stack event
Event #31: High Roller – Ultra Stack has established itself as one of the standout side events of the series, with Day 1 drawing a massive 312-entry field and leaving 94 players still in contention. The two-day event has shattered multiple benchmarks, setting new in-country records for entries while also posting new APT highs for both total prize pool and the eventual first-place payout.
With KRW 243,236,000 (~USD 170,700) reserved for the champion, the stage is set for a blockbuster conclusion. Day 2 will see the field play down to the final 39 in-the-money finishers, each guaranteed a minimum cash of KRW 8,370,000.
Quang Huy Nguyen leads the way heading into Day 2, finishing the opening flight with 2,761,000 chips. The Vietnamese pro, who boasts over USD 1.7 million in live tournament earnings, is chasing his third APT title and will once again look to prove his pedigree as a formidable opponent when the stakes are at their highest.
Just behind him sits Changjie Zhang of Singapore, who bagged 2,700,000 chips to place second overall. The Singaporean pro is within striking distance of what would be his second APT title, with a victory here also set to represent the biggest live cash of his career.
Completing the top three is Yiheng Luo of China with 2,012,000 chips. No stranger to high-stakes play, Luo previously captured the Baby Superstar title at APT Jeju 2025 and has once again positioned himself deep in the mix as the Ultra Stack heads into its decisive second day.

Zhang Clinches Maiden Title in JOPT-Backed Event #30: NL Hold’em
Zhang wins his first APT title as well as a ticket to a Japan Open Poker Tour event
Xiao Zhang added a new milestone to his poker career by capturing his first APT title in Event #30: NL Hold’em – Sponsored by JOPT. The Chinese pro, who already boasts over USD 300,000 in live tournament earnings, topped a 123-entry field to secure the KRW 34,743,600 (~USD 24,381) top prize.
Second place went to Yucheng Wang of China, who earned KRW 23,490,000 (~USD 16,484) after a strong run at the final table. Fellow compatriot Zhuorui Wu completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 15,270,000 (~USD 10,715) to round out an all-China top three.
In addition to the prize money, the winner received a NLH Crown ticket worth JPY 250,000 (~USD 1,590) for use at a Japan Open Poker Tour event. Meanwhile, the top 30 finishers, including those outside the money, were awarded NLH Millions tickets valued at JPY 40,000 (~USD 255), redeemable at any JOPT Tokyo event before 8 February 2027.

Zhang Masters Big O to Capture First Title in Event #32
Zhang takes down the Big O Masters event for his first APT title
Xiaochuan Zhang added a significant milestone to his poker career by securing his first APT title in Event #32: Big “O” Masters – PL Omaha Hi-Lo – 5 Card. The Chinese pro, who already boasts over USD 300,000 in live tournament earnings, topped a 50-entry field to claim the KRW 20,410,000 (~USD 14,324) first-place prize.
Second place went to John Charles Caridad of Australia, who earned KRW 14,740,000 (~USD 10,343) following another strong run to make another final table this series. Wei Yi Liang of China completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 9,400,000 (~USD 6,596).

Kubota Converts Near Misses into Maiden Win in Event #34: Women’s Event – Bounty Hunter
Kubota has her first APT Women's Event title
Sae Kubota finally turned promise into silverware with victory in Event #34: Women’s Event – Bounty Hunter, capturing her first APT title after several close calls earlier in previous festivals. The Japanese amateur topped a 36-entry field to claim KRW 5,496,518 (~USD 3,857) in prize money, including KRW 900,000 in bounties.
Second place went to Mayo Morimitsu of Japan, who earned KRW 3,917,000 (~USD 2,748) with KRW 750,000 in bounties. Min Lu of China completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 3,218,000 (~USD 2,258) including a tournament-high KRW 1,200,000 in bounties.

Japanese Duo Clinch Top Spot in Event #35: NL Hold’em – Teams Event
Tsuji Shugo and Okuda Kei made the dream work with team work
Event #35: NL Hold’em – Teams Event brought a collaborative twist to the festival, with two-person teams competing across a 74-entry field and five teams paid. In addition, 20% of the total prize pool was reserved as a bonus for the last team standing with both players still in contention.
Tsuji Shugo and Okuda Kei emerged victorious to claim first place, with the all-Japanese pairing securing KRW 11,241,600 (~USD 7,895) for the win after outlasting the field in the unique team format tournament.
Second place went to the Chinese duo of Zhang Zhiqiang and Jin Long, who earned KRW 15,500,000 (~USD 10,877). In addition to their runner-up finish, they were the last team to keep both players alive, allowing them to collect the 20% bonus reserved for the final intact team. Sun Yue and Wang Zhiyi of China completed the podium in third place, taking home KRW 5,000,000 (~USD 3,508) after a strong showing in the team-based contest.

Lo takes home his first APT title in his debut series
Chun Ping David Lo enjoyed a dream introduction to the APT by capturing his first title in Event #36: Fixed Limit – Triple Draw Mix. The United States grinder topped a competitive 21-entry field to secure the KRW 5,087,852 (~USD 3,570) first-place prize.
Second place went to Adam Alfie of the United Kingdom, who earned KRW 3,400,000 (~USD 2,385) after another deep run during the series. Qibang Cheung, also representing the United Kingdom, completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 2,180,000 (~USD 1,529) as the final table featured several familiar faces who had already cashed earlier in the festival.

Qing Liu claimed his first APT title in Event #38: Turbo – PL Omaha High – Stairway to Seven, topping a 30-entry field. The Chinese amateur emerged with the trophy after play concluded with an ICM chop heads-up, taking home KRW 4,080,480 (~USD 2,863) for the victory.
Second place went to Fan Liang of China, who earned KRW 3,600,000 (~USD 2,526) following the agreement. Daiki Aoki of Japan completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 2,000,000 (~USD 1,403) after a solid run.
