JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, October 4, 2025 – For the second festival in a row, all three of the APT’s flagship signature Lion Trophy tournaments have set new records.
The record-breaking Main Event set an international record for field size, while the 97-entry KRW 15M (~USD 10,640) APT Super High Roller set a new tour country record for field size, prize pool, and top prize.
Now the KRW 5M (~USD 3,570) **APT High Roller **has continued the trend, drawing the tour’s largest-ever Korean-based field to eclipse the record set just six weeks ago at the APT Incheon 2025.
Playing out at the tournament tables of the LES A Casino—located at the luxurious Jeju Shinhwa World resort—the two day APT High Roller got underway at 11:15am (KST) on Saturday, October 4 with the tournament attracting an impressive 305 entries (192 unique).
This generated a hefty KRW 1,317,600,000 (~USD 941,140) prize pool—also a new tour country record—with the Day 1 action playing out over sixteen 40-minute levels.
The eventual champion will walk away with the third-largest top prize this tournament has ever awarded, with an impressive KRW 261,400,000 (~USD 186,715) in the winner’s purse, in addition to an APT Championship Main Event seat valued at KRW 14 million (USD 10,000) for the tour’s largest-ever USD 5M GTD tournament running November 24-28 in Taipei, Taiwan.
It is Hong Kong’s Chi Ngong Tang who will be returning in the tournament top spot with a stack of 1,398,000.
Natural8 Ambassador Yu Chung “Nevan” Chang sits a close second in the counts after concluding the action with a stack of 1,267,500.
Mingcong Chen continued the run of form that saw him tame the Pewter Lion APT Super High Roller Trophy and finish runner-up in the Baby Superstar Challenge, with the Chinese player bagging up a top three stack of 1,203,000, with the top ten as follows:

Other notables in contention looking to etch their place in tour history include the Netherland’s Tom Verbruggen (521,000), Germany’s Fabian Schmidt (519,800), Australia’s Dylan Foster (501,000), APT Taipei 2023 Main Event champion Punnat Punsri (413,000), former APT High Roller champion Martin Sedlak (293,000), and bracelet winners Martin Finger (259,000), and Arthur Conan (194,000) to name but a few.

China’s Wei Hang Chen Wins Mini Main Event for KRW 86.7M (~USD 62K)
China’s Wei Hang claimed a second career APT title with his Mini Main event win
The Final Day of the KRW 1M (~USD 715) Mini Main Event saw 87 players out of an initial field of 618 entries return to fight it out at the felt for a share of the KRW 519,120,000 (~USD 370,800) prize pool – the second richest the event has generated in the country.
All returning players were already guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 1,610,000 (~USD 1,150), but it was the KRW 99,410,000 (~USD 71,000) top prize that all were aiming for.
It was China’s Xixiang Luo returning with the start-of-day chip lead, and while the former APT Jeju Main Event champion managed to make a fourth final table showing of the series, it was compatriot Wei Hang Chen who claimed the accolades.
Chen cut an ICM deal with opponent Iat Man Leong of Macau when play reached heads-up, with the duo leaving KRW 10,000,000 (~USD 7,140), the title and the trophy on the table to play for.
Chen emerged as champion, earning his second career APT title with the KRW 86,790,000 (~USD 61,990) top prize representing the second largest cash of his playing career.
Leong, who finished runner-up in the APT Taipei 2025 Main Event, collected KRW 74,500,000 (~USD 53,215) for his runner-up finish – a career third best score.
China’s Lin Zhou was another to cash for a career top three score, banking KRW 44,280,000 (~USD 31,630) for his third-place podium finish.
Other notables to make the final nine included US bracelet winner Michael Wang (6th), and the aforementioned Luo (9th) with the final table paying out as follows:

Other notables to cash but come up short of a place on the final table included Flight B frontrunner Ka Chuen Yip (11th for KRW 6.9M), US bracelet winner Peter Park (13th for KRW 5.8M), India’s Kunal Patni (17th for KRW 4.7M), and Siddharth Karia (33rd for KRW 2.3M), and French bracelet winner Arthur Conan (68th for KRW 1.8M).
