APT High Roller Draws 136 Runners; Vietnam's Dinh Tien Thanh Leads Final 14 Players, Japan's Naoki Yashiro Wins Super Bounty Hunter

DA NANG, VIETNAM, December 16, 2022 – With the main course served, players at the APT Da Nang Vietnam VSOP 2022 – partnered with the Vietnam Series of Poker (VSOP) – have moved onto dessert, with the ₫60,000,000+5,000,000 Event #21 High Roller proving the discerning player's digestif of choice.

Playing out in the ballroom of the five-star Risemount Premier Resort, Day 2 of the ₫6BN guaranteed three-day High Roller saw a further 26 entrants (25 unique) throw their hat into the ring.

This brought the total number of entries up to 136 (92 unique), generating a respectable ₫7,915,200,000 (~$332,438) prize pool.

Combined with the 67 respective Day 1 survivors, that saw 92 high rollers in action, all eyeing up the ₫2,172,700,000 (~$91,253) top prize, with 14 players earning a spot in the cash and Day 2 concluding at the bursting of the bubble.

It was the UK's William Kang the man to depart in poker's most unenviable postion, guaranteeing all 14 remaining players a payout of ₫130,970,000 (~$5,500).

It is Vietnam's Dinh Tien Thanh, who will be returning for the third and final day with the chip lead and a stack of 2,880,000 – valued at 72 big blinds with play resuming at 20,000/40,000 with a 40,000 big blind ante.

Malta's Remi Florent sits second in the counts, bagging a stack of 2,198,000, with Vietnam's Ngo Van Dat (2,154,000) rounding out the top three.

Singapore's Benjamin Sai is keeping his Player of the Series dreams alive, returning fifth in the counts, with the top ten stacks as follows:

In addition to Kang, notables to come up short of a cash included start-of-day chip leader Grant Gardner, Day 1B frontrunner Paul Kiem, Singapore's Alex Lee, the Netherland's Joris Michl, and South Korea's Justin Jae Wook Shin to name but a few.

Japan's Naoki Yashiro Claims Gold in Super Bounty Hunter

Just eight players out of the initial 80-strong (61 unique) starting field of the two-day ₫8,000,000+800,000 Event #25 Super Bounty Hunter returned to action for the second and final day in an attempt to claim the title.

While Pham Song Hau returned as the chip leader, the Vietnamese player was unable to convert his overnight chip lead into a win, and it was Japan's Naoki Yashiro the man to take it down.

Yashiro defeated Vietnam's Nguyen Van Bao heads-up to claim his maiden APT title, with the pair cutting a two-way deal that saw both receive ₫86,200,000 (~$3,620) apiece for first and second place.

A total of 14 players cashed for a share of the ₫620,800,000 (~$26,073) prize pool – including ₫240,000,000 in bounties – with the official eight-handed final table paying out as follows:

Thailand's Kiwanont Sukhum Wins No Limit Hold'em Single Day Event

Proving to be another popular draw, the ₫7,000,000+700,000 Event #27 No Limit Hold'em Single Day saw 105 runners (80 unique) compete, generating a ₫712,950,000 (~$29,943) prize pool.

It was Thailand's Kiwanont Sukhum the man to take it down, defeating Vietnam's Nguyen Manh Hao heads-up to claim the ₫181,730,000 (~$7,632) top prize, in addition to his maiden APT title.

Hao collected ₫121,160,000 (~$5,088) for his runner-up finish, with 18 players making the money and the official eight-handed final table paying out as follows:

Vietnam's Ngoc Dai Nguyen claimed his second APT title in the High Roller Single Day

Vietnam's Ngoc Dai Nguyen Tops High Roller Single Day Playing out concurrently with the High Roller, with a slightly later start time of 3pm, the ₫50,000,000+4,000,000 Event #28 High Roller Single Day drew 12 entries, generating a ₫582,000,000 (~$24,444) prize pool.

It was Vietnam's Ngoc Dai Nguyen the man to top the tournament, receiving ₫298,480,000 (~$12,536) for his first-place victory after the final three players cut a deal.

Nguyen claimed his second APT title after defeating fellow countryman Ngo Khoa Anh, who banked ₫298,480,000 for his runner-up finish.

Singapore's Alex Lee was the only other player to cash, taking ₫54,000,000 for third place.
