Action was picked up on a completed board 7 Q K 7 5 and Somasekhar Sanampuri's, at risk, and Ming Tsai's chips and cards on the middle of the table.

Somasekhar Sanampuri: A J

Ming Tsai: A K

Tsai had Sanampuri dominated, his lead strengthened by hitting a pair on the flop. But Sanampuri had straight draw and flush draw outs that could turn the tide to his favor. The river completed his flush doubling him up at the last level of the day and giving him the chance to move to Day 2.

Chung Ching Cheung limped in from early position, and Cheung Sin Chiu raised to 3,500 from middle position. Seung Yong Yi on the button, Steve Ng in the big blind, and Cheung all called.

The action checked to Yi who fired out 5,500 on the flop of T 4 K , which only Chiu called.

When the 6 was shown on the turn, Chiu checked over and Yi bet 10,000. Chiu called.

As the river revealed a 9 , it went check-check.

Chiu tabled A T for the flopped pair of tens, however, it wasn’t enough facing off against Yi’s superior pair of kings with K Q .

With 20,000 chips in the middle and a board of T 2 J 5 , Changhyun Kim fired 9,500 sending Eugene Lim into the tank.

Lim took his time to consider his options as he shuffled some chips in his hand. He eventually called to see the last card.

Kim fired another 15,000 when the K dropped on the river. Lim, once again, went into the tank, this time a bit longer considering the texture of the board.

Visibly unsure, he called and somehow expecting the result, mucked his hand when Kim tabled A J for the nut flush.

With the day nearing its end, short-stacked players felt the pressure to double up and bag a healthier stack for Day 2.

Such was the case with Paul Ho and Ren Zong. Action was picked up with both players already all-in, Zong at risk, on a completed board.

Ren Zong: J T

Paul Ho: A K

Board: Q K A 6 6

Ho had flopped top two pair, but it was no match for Zong’s flopped straight. The runout didn’t change anything, leaving Ho facing an uphill battle to rebuild his stack as the day winds down. Zong, on the other hand, happily raked in the pot, giving himself more breathing room heading into the last few hands.

The trio checked through the flop of T 7 A to the 3 turn, where Lin checked to Sirisachtham who fired out 3,000. Only Lin made the call.

When the river came 8 , it went check-check for a showdown.

Sirisachtham tabled Q T for a flopped pair of tens to collect the pot as Yi tossed his cards into the muck.

The two checked through the flop of 9 5 3 to see the J turn. It went check-check again.

When the river brought a T , Maeda fired out 1,900 and Kossonogi cranked it up to 6,900, sending his opponent into the tank. After some deliberation, Maeda made the call.

Kossonnogi tabled A T for a rivered pair of tens, raking in the pot as Maeda mucked his hand.
