Bao Qiang Ho

Bao Qiang Ho leads the way in Flight B of the Mystery Bounty Hunter - Sponsored by Natural8 with a stack of 694,000 chips. A total of 289 entries (240 unique) were recorded meaning that just 41 players would advance into Day 2 and join the 54 qualifiers from Flight A.

Ho had a big stack from the mid-way stage and kept applying pressure to his opponents to finish on top of the Flight and also come through as overall chip leader. The Singaporean player already has an APT title to his name, emerging victorious in a High Roller event in Taipei four years ago.

Jae Wook Shin bagged up 514,000 chips as he works his way toward another APT final table. Shin's stack skyrocketed after getting a double up when his jack-ten rivered a straight against the ace-king of Po-Yu Chan during level seventeen. Shin would also go on to eliminate Chen Yu Sung when his ace-five held against the queen-nine of Sung.

William Lam also bagged up a decent-sized stack of 319,000. Lam won the Turbo event last night and was the first-ever player to receive one of the new-look APT trophies, which he proudly displayed next to his stack during the latter stages of play today.

Other notables to make it through were Anthony Cierco (272,000), Ryo Kotake (233,000), Masafumi Shimizu (157,000), Nanami Okana (147,000), and Deepak Bothra (138,000).

Hsuan Yao Chen

Well that didn't take long.

Two players. Two tables. Two chances at popping this bubble.

The first player at risk is Hsuan Yao Chen who shoved with his A K and was called by the 8 8 of Wai Lun William Lam.

Chen needed to connect with the board in some way otherwise he would be our bubble boy, or at least one of them.

As usual on the bubble, the table is swarmed with players, camera, and spectators all trying to catch a glimpse of the hand that could send the remaining players into the money.

The dealer blasted through the flop, turn and river at lightning speed dealing a 9 5 T 3 5 board which gave Lam the pot and meant Chen was the unfortunate bubble boy.

There was still another hand to play out as Deepak Bothra got his stack in with A Q against the K 8 of Kuan Yu Chen.

Bothra didn't have much of a sweat with the board running A 6 7 4 6 and got a double up in the last hand of the night.

Yu Hung Liu

Powen Fang and Yu Hung Liu got their stacks in the middle with Liu being the player at risk.

Liu needed a lot of help and the 6 K T flop gave his opponent top pair but did bring Liu more outs as now any queen would give him broadway.

"Queen" shouted Liu.

As if by magic, a Q fell on the turn giving Liu a huge lead in the hand. Fang now needed a jack to chop or else he would severely short-stacked.

A 5 completed the board and Liu got a huge double up to 340,000, leaving Fang with just 35,000 chips.

Sin-Ren Chen stuck his last 21,000 in the middle and was called by Masafumi Shimizu.

Chen J 2 Shimizu Q Q

No help would come for Chen as the board ran 2 A 3 9 5 .

Chen would finish in 43rd place meaning we are now hand-for-hand.

Just 43 players remain but only 41 spots are available in Day 2.

Players are on a break before they come back to burst this bubble.

Wai Lun William Lam, who earlier won the turbo event here at APT Taiwan, has just eliminated Taiwan's Chen.

Chen shoved all in and was called by Lam.

The board ran 3 6 Q 4 2 and despite Chen flopping a flush draw and turning a pair, he couldn't find the outs he needed and was sent home.

Lam has a stack of 230,000 now.

Just 50 players remain and after confirmation, 41 players will make it into Day 2.

Jae Wook Shin

Jae Wook Shin called the shove of Chen Yu Sung to put the Taiwanese player at risk.

The board ran clean for Shin coming J J 3 J T which sent Sung home.

Shin now sits with 460,000 chips.

We didn't see the action but just saw a pile of chips being pushed in the direction of South Korea's Jae Wook Shin.

On a board reading 8 A T K Q Shin had the nuts with J T against Po-Yu Chan's A K .

The money went in somewhere but what matter is Shin is stacking up 400,000.

Chan wants the chips recounted as he doesn't believe that Shin has him covered - but he does. Chan out.

Hsuan Yao Chen got his stack all in against America's Francisco Sanchez.

Chen A 8 Sanchez K Q

Chen was at risk and in trouble on the J Q 6 flop.

Sanchez improved to two pair when the K fell on the turn but that actually gave Chen more outs as now he needed one of the four remaining tens to scoop the pot.

Lady luck would be on the side of Chen as the T completed the board giving him an unbeatable straight and the pot.
