Michel Molenaar

Michel Molenaar opened to 4,500 from the hijack and was called by Nevan Chang in the small blind and Yaoyu He in the big blind.

Action checked to Molenaar, who continued for 7,000 on the J 5 Q flop. Chang called, but He folded.

Both players checked on the 9 turn and Chang checked a final time on the 9 river. Molenaar announced a bet of 20,000 and Chang check-raised enough to put Molenaar all-in for his last 185,000 total.

Molenaar used up a couple of time extensions contemplating his decision, but he eventually stuck in a call.

Chang showed A J , which was no good against Molenaar's A Q to award Molenaar the double-up.

Yaoyu He opened to 4,500 from under the gun and found calls from all around the table.

The dealer rolled off the T Q 2 flop, and He checked as did Mingming Ma, sat in the next seat. Yee Wen bet out for 5,000 from the button. Scott Margerson and Nevan Chang folded from the blinds. He flat-called, and Ma raised to 25,000 and found two calls.

The 6 came on the turn, and He checked to Ma, who fired off a second bullet of 75,000. Wen thought for a short while and folded, as did He, sending the healthy pot to Ma uncontested.

Wouter Beltz

Three-way to the flop of 6 T 8 with about 10,000 in the pot and it was checked around to Scott Margereson on the button, who fired out for 8,000. Mingming Ma called from under the gun, as did Wouter Beltz in the small blind.

The turn brought the 2 and the action was checked around for the K to peel off on the river.

Ma checked and Beltz bet out for 27,000. Margereson got out of the way and after a short tank, Ma made the call, tabling 8 7 for a rivered flush and was shipped the pot - crushing Beltz's third pair with A 8 .

Yita Choong

Yita Choong opened on the button and was three-bet to 20,000 by Sho Homma in the small blind. Choong responded with a four-bet to 63,000 and Homma tanked a bit before raising enough to put Choong all-in for 253,000 total. Choong quickly called and a showdown was held.

Choong had Homma's pair pipped, and the K T 8 7 4 runout kept Choong's ladies best for the early double-up.

At another table, Stanley Weng was the first player eliminated.

Joseph Cheong

Action folded around to Joseph Cheong in the cutoff who raised to 3,000 and was looked up by Chun Kit Kwan in the big blind.

The flop came T A 5 and the action went check-check as it did on the 2 turn. It was rinse and repeat on the 4 river, and Cheong was pushed the pot with his K J , crushing Kwan's J 7 .

Heads-up on a flop of Q 6 9 with over 30,000 already in the middle, Sho Homma bet 12,000 from the small blind and Yita Choong called in the big blind.

Homma slowed down and checked on the 8 turn, prompting a hefty 50,000 bet from Yoong. Homma wanted nothing to do with it and laid his hand down, conceding the pot to Choong.

Sean Ooi opened to 2,500 on the button and was called by Chun Kit Kwan in the big blind for a heads-up pot.

Kwan check-called a 3,000 bet from Ooi on the J 6 7 flop and then led out for 4,000 after the 7 paired the board on the turn. Ooi responded by raising to 10,000 and Kwan called.

The J double-paired the board on the river and both players checked. Chun revealed J 9 for a full house and Ooi flung his cards into the muck.

Action folded to Stanley Weng in the cutoff who made it 3,000 to play, only for Sho Homma sat in the big blind, to three-bet to 15,000.

Weng made the call and the dealer flipped over a flop of 6 2 6 . Homma continued for 15,000, and Weng called for the players to see the 9 peel off on the turn.

Homma fired off a second bullet of 30,000 and Weng undeterred, made the call again.

The river brought the 9 to complete the board, and after tanking for a while, Homma moved all-in and had Weng covered. Weng thought for a while and mucked his cards to send the pot to Homma with no showdown.

Sean Ooi

Haruhiki Shinohara opened to 2,000 on the button and Sean Ooi defended his big blind.

Ooi check-called a 2,000 bet from Shinohara on the 2 A 5 flop and then both players checked on the 9 turn.

The 3 completed the board and Ooi cut out of an overbet of 13,000 and placed it into the middle. Shinohara tanked a bit, but eventually decided to lay his hand down.
