MANILA, PHILIPPINES, February 12, 2025– Thailand’s Yotaka Phutiya defied the odds in Event #51: Women's Championship, staging an unbelievable comeback from less than one big blind to claim her first-ever APT title. Her resilience saw her outlast a 44-entry (31 unique) field, securing the largest cash of her career with PHP 387,480 (~USD 6,587). Phutiya, who earlier in the series cashed in a Women's Event, had less than one year of poker experience coming into the Women's Championship.
The Philippines’ Kristine Flores fell just short of the title, finishing as the runner-up for PHP 268,000 (~USD 4,556). Meanwhile, fellow Thai Wisinee Tanpichai rounded out the podium with a third-place payout of PHP 171,000 (~USD 2,907).
Another notable performance came from Linda Nguyen, who had already won one of the Women’s Events earlier in the series. She added another deep run to her series, finishing fifth in the Women's Championship event.

David Wortham Wins First APT Title in Event #49: Dealer's Choice (22 Games)
Wortham has his first APT title in a mixed game
After multiple deep runs in mixed-game events, David Wortham finally secured his first APT title, triumphing in Event #49: Dealer's Choice (22 Games). The American grinder, who had previously cashed in three mixed-game events in this series, proved his versatility in multiple formats of poker by outlasting a field of 34 entries (26 unique) and walking away with PHP 272,400 (~USD 4,630).
Australia’s Joan Kathleen Allen put up a strong challenge but fell short in second place, earning PHP 187,000 (~USD 3,179), while China’s Yao Liu secured third place for PHP 119,000 (~USD 2,023).

Belcher Claims Second APT Title in Event #50: Flip 'N Go Hyper
Belcher is on a roll with his second APT title this series
Just two days after winning Event #38: Hyper Turbo - Super Hold'em, the United Kingdom’s Matthew Belcher struck gold again, capturing his second APT title in the thrilling Event #50: Flip 'N Go Hyper. Belcher conquered a 49-entry (30 unique) field in this fast and fun format, where players go all-in preflop in the early stage before transitioning to regular play in the money. His victory earned him PHP 76,548 (~USD 1,301).
Thailand’s Natee Theppot fought hard but had to settle for the runner-up spot, collecting PHP 56,000 (~USD 952). Mirko Stojkov from Australia rounded out the top three with a PHP 36,000 (~USD 612) payday.

Chen finally takes home his first APT title
Taiwan’s Yi Hung Chen can celebrate a good start to the year by securing his first-ever APT title in Event #52: NL Hold'em. Chen navigated through a competitive 114-entry field (95 unique) to seize the PHP 1,239,800 (~USD 21,076) top prize. The event broke APT records for prize pool and first place prize for the event.
Japan’s Kei Takazawa fought hard but had to settle for second place, earning PHP 837,000 (~USD 14,229). Gene Jin-I Chan from Canada rounded out the podium, pocketing PHP 544,000 (~USD 9,248) for his deep run.
A notable mention goes to Kunal Patni, who added another final table finish to his strong series. The Indian pro, who claimed victory in Event #9: Mystery Bounty Hunter continues to put up an impressive series.

American Nick Roscoe Blackburn put up a strong fight but ultimately settled for second place, earning PHP 169,000 (~USD 2,873). The Philippines’ John Tech, who has had multiple cashes in this series, secured a third-place payout of PHP 108,000 (~USD 1,836).

Ho's sixth APT title comes in a high roller event
Singapore’s Bao Qiang Ho added his sixth APT title to his list of APT achievements in Event #54: Single Day High Roller. A seasoned pro with over USD 600,000 in live tournament earnings, Ho beat out a 75-entry (63 unique) field, capturing the PHP 1,783,000 (~USD 30,311) top prize.
Thailand’s Thanisorn Saelor put up a tough fight but had to settle for second place, walking away with PHP 1,267,000 (~USD 21,539). Meanwhile, Nicholas Gregory Bond from the United States rounded out the podium, claiming PHP 829,000 (~USD 14,093) for third place.

Phanishsarn Wins First APT Title in Event #55: Turbo - Double Stack
Phanishsarn takes home his first APT title after an ICM chop deal
Thailand’s Tanapatr Phanishsarn, a regular on the APT circuit, finally secured his first APT title in Event #55: Turbo - Double Stack. He battled through a 106-entry (95 unique) field to seize the PHP 493,600 (~USD 8,391) top prize.
A deal was struck between the top two players at heads up between Phanishsarn and fellow Thai Kiwanont Sukhum. The duo ICM chopped 80% of the remaining prize pool and played for the trophy and the remaining 20% of the prize pool. In the end, Sukhum took home the larger payout at PHP 495,000 (~USD 8,415) for second place due to the ICM chop, while South Korea’s Min Sung Lee rounded out the podium, pocketing PHP 264,000 (~USD 4,488).

The former APT Main Event beat out a 42-entry (32 unique) field, walking away with PHP 183,552 (~USD 3,120). In this event, players receive five hole cards and discard one after each betting round preflop, on the flop, and on the turn.
Hong Kong’s Kelvin Leung fell just short of the title, securing PHP 126,000 (~USD 2,142) in second place, while fellow Natural8 ambassador Neven Chang from Taiwan rounded out the podium with a third-place finish worth PHP 81,000 (~USD 1,377).
