TAIPEI, TAIWAN, October 7, 2024 – Hon Cheong Lee from Hong Kong finally takes home his first APT title after emerging victorious in Event #109: Last Chance High Roller. Lee outlasted a field of 103 high-roller entrants (82 unique) looking for a share of the TWD 5,339,520 (~USD 165,952) prize pool.
Lee, who has over USD 2 million in live earnings, beat Malaysian young gun Sean Ooi head’s up. The battle only lasted one hand as Ooi went all-in with pocket Jacks against Lee’s King-Queen off. Lee turned the winner and walks away with TWD 1,364,520 (~USD 42,409) to his name. Ooi returns home with TWD 940,000 (~USD 29,215) while Japan’s Kyosuke Nagami pockets TWD 617,000 (~USD 19,176).
Aussie Jennifer Cassell narrowly missed out on a podium finish, but takes home TWD 499,000 (~USD 15,508) for her efforts. The event paid out 15 runners, with the final table paid out as follows:

Munakata Claims Event #102: 8 Game After Deal Cut
Munakata takes home first APT title after ICM deal.
Japan’s Takemi Munakata secured the trophy in Event #102: 8 Game after an ICM deal was made between the top two players. Munakata, who shared the prize pool with fellow countryman Hirotoshi Nakabo, took home TWD 108,779 (~USD 3,325) and the trophy after navigating through a competitive field of 72 entries (61 unique).
Nakabo, finishing as the runner-up, earned TWD 105,000 (~USD 3,211) following the deal. Australia's Andrew John Shanahan rounded out the top three, taking home TWD 58,000 (~USD 1,774).

Local Li Ta Hsu, a regular on the Asia poker circuit with over USD 600,000 in live earnings, captured his first APT trophy in Event #106: Hyper Turbo - NL Single Draw Mix. Hsu outlasted a competitive field of 65 entries (55 unique) to claim the top prize of TWD 79,440 (~USD 2,432), adding an APT title to his impressive poker résumé.
Ka Yue Colin Tsang from Hong Kong finished as the runner-up, taking home TWD 57,000 (~USD 1,746), while Japan’s Tomohiro Totoki secured third place with TWD 37,000 (~USD 1,133).

After securing a win in Event #46: Limit Triple Draw - Dealer's Choice and making several final table appearances, Yam continued his excellent run by outlasting a field of 61 entries (49 unique) to take home TWD 382,600 (~USD 11,709).
Kiyoung Kim from South Korea finished as the runner-up, earning TWD 277,000 (~USD 8,478), while Malaysia’s Yan Wen Yee secured third place with TWD 180,000 (~USD 5,508).
