Omaha 21

Omaha 21 is a split-pot Omaha variant where the action and betting remain the same as regular Omaha - the only difference in gameplay with this game comes at showdown.

The Showdown:

As with regular Omaha, players must make their best possible 5-card hand using exactly 2 cards from their hand for half of the pot. With this variant, the 3 remaining cards in a player's hand will be used to make a Blackjack (21) hand. Player(s) closest to a combined total of 21 without going over will win half the pot. Face cards = 10.

Example:

Board:
A K 9 5 2

Player A: A A Q 6 6
(Using two Aces for high. Q (10)+6+6 = 22 - does not qualify for 21)

Player B: K K 5 3 2
(Using two Kings for high. 5+3+2 = 10)

Player C: A K 8 7 6
(Using Ace and King for high. 8+7+6 = 21 - the nuts for 21)

Player A would win the high with 3 Aces, however they would not qualify for the low half of the pot because their other 3 cards add up to over 22.

Player B would not win the high with 3 Kings, but they do have a qualifying '21' hand with a total of 10.

Player C would not win the high with their two pair (Aces and Kings), but they have the nuts for the 21 half of the pot.
