Flight D of the APT Main Event is a wrap and it's the well-known local player Pham Duy Anh who tops the counts after bagging up 207,000 chips. China's Yuanning Wu brings through 171,500 after finishing second in the flight with Nguyen Van Phuong rounding out the podium places with 149,400. A total of 60 entries (54 unique) were recorded with 32 survivors making it through the ten levels of play.

This brings the total amount of entries to 541 after all four flights have played out but with registration still open until the start of Day 2, this number is sure to rise. This means the current prize pool sits at VND 16,530,255,000 (~USD $705,500).

Koangho Lee bagged up 113,700 which was the eighth biggest stack of the flight. Lee cashed in three events at APT Taipei with the pick of the bunch being a fourth-place finish in a Single Day High Roller for TWD 676,00 (~$22,000).

Jinglong Hu

Jinlong Hu also found a bag and takes through 80,500 chips as he searches for his fourth APT title. Hu took down two events in Hanoi earlier this year for a combined score of ~$13,500 with his third also coming in Vietnam when he took gold in a Shot Clock event in Ho Chi Minh four years ago.

APT regular Junichi Nakagiri finished the day with 56,700 chips with slight thanks to his countrymate Satoshi Kuriga. Nakagiri shoved the turn holding ace-king on an ace-high board and was looked up by an ambitious Kuriga who was holding pocket deuces. Nakagiri is a final table specialist in the APT with fourteen appearances which include one victory which came in Cebu eight years ago.

Hsiao-Chin "Elfin" Lin had a rollercoaster of a day with her stack going up and down in waves before she bagged up 30,800. Lin has three APT cashes, including two final table appearances, under her belt which all came at APT Da Nang at the back end of last year.

Other notables to make it through were Ichiyo Niwa (65,300), Sangbeom Lim (62,600), Satoshi Kuriga (55,900), Keng Tan (47,900), and Sumit Sapra (20,100).

Martijn Geritts, Terry Gonzaga, and Huu Minh Tri Phan all registered for the flight at the end of the day to secure their place in the Day 2 seat draw.

With 15 minutes left on the clock in Flight D, the tournament director has announced that more five hands will be played before all remaining players bag up their chips.

Hu Jin Long of China was in dire need of a double-up and who better to get it from than from the erstwhile chip leader, Gia Lam Nguyen?

The two were all in on the flop that read: 9 5 5 .

Nguyen covered Hu and tabled J 9 for top pair while Hu was holding A J for the nut flush draw.

The turn immediately answered Hu's Hail Mary as the 3 appeared and the 2 added to the overkill.

Hu now climbs to just under 100,000 in chips and is only slightly behind Nguyen's stack.

Yasuyuki Tsuji

Minh Tu Nguyen got his stack all in pre-flop against that of Yasuyuki Tsuji.

Tsuji would flop a set and leave Nguyen dead on the turn when the board ran K 7 5 : 9s: 5 to earn the pot and give his stack a boost in the final level.

We are into the last level of play here on Flight D of the APT Main Event.

From the 59 entries so far, 36 remain with under thirty minutes of play left.

Satoshi Kuriga

Junichi Nakagiri shoved all in on the turn with the board reading 4 Q A 9 for 26,900. The decision was on his countrymate Satoshi Kuriga who thought for around a minute before making the call.

A big hero call for Kuriga that didn't look like it was going to pay off.

The river brought a 4 which secured the double-up for Nakagiri and left Kuriga wondering why he called.

The action was folded around to Vietnam's Luu Danh Tuan in the cutoff and made a raise, but India's Sumit Sapra shoved his remaining stack of about 12,000 on a 3-bet jam. Tuan smiled as he was thinking about what to do, but eventually called the small stack that shoved as he was sitting on about 90,000.

Sapra tabled A K while Tuan sheepishly turned over A 3 .

The board ran Q 9 6 5 K as Sapra doubles-up but is still shy of the starting stack.

Sangbeom Lim opened to 2,400 and Luu Danh Tuan made the call. Sumit Sapra was next to act and he put in a squeeze to 7,300, which only Tuan called.

Both players checked on the J 2 4 flop.

The action heated up a bit on the A turn as Tuan checked, with Sapra firing 6,500. Tuan responded with a shove for around 40,000, which covered the stack of Sapra. The Indian player checked his cards once more before releasing them into the muck.

Pham Duy Anh

Tak Chung Yan shoved his last 7,200 into the pot and got called by Duy Thuc Nguyen and Pham Duy Anh.

On the flop of 8 T 9 Anh led for 10,000 with Nguyen making the call.

The turn brought a 3 and Anh bet again, this time for all of his chips. Nguyen shrugged his shoulders and dropped in a stack of chips to signify a call.

Yan K Q Nguyen K J Anh 8 5

We're not sure how Anh is in this pot but he's managed to get it in good against two opponents and is one card away from almost tripling up.

The river was an 8 which gave Anh trips and the pot, eliminating Yan in the process. Anh boosts his stack up to 75,000 while Nguyen drops to 50,000.
