Shiina Okamoto
Shiina Okamoto didn’t take long to reset after her 19th-place finish in the Natural8 Cup Championship, where she secured TWD 335,900 (~USD 10,835). Within minutes, she walked across the room at the Red Space Events Centre and took a seat in Day 1 of the APT Women’s Championship – Sponsored by LIPS.
Her entry adds a notable presence to the field. Okamoto has put together an exceptional run in the WSOP Ladies Championship over the last three years. After battling through 1,295 players in 2023, she finished second for USD 118,768 — by far her biggest score to date. Her poker career is still in its early stages, with her first recorded cash coming from a 6-Max event in the Japan Open Poker Tour just a few years ago, in 2021.
That was only the beginning of her momentum. She went on to take on the massive 2024 and 2025 WSOP Ladies fields, claiming her first WSOP bracelet in 2024. That victory catapulted her into stardom and established her as an ambassador for women in poker.
All eyes were on her in 2025, and the poker community watched in awe as she made the final table of the same event once again. When play reached the final three, Okamoto dominated, eliminating multiple opponents and ultimately claiming back-to-back titles — a rare feat in WSOP history.
Following her journey from the WSOP to APTC, Shiina Okamoto has already made a strong impact on this championship series, securing six cashes across the first week alone. Live coverage will continue to bring all the key action from Okamoto and her fellow players over the two days of the Women’s Championship event.
