Only two players who earned their Main Event seats through previous APT victories remain in contention today, each looking for another major title.

Edmond Chim

Edmond Chim

Edmond Chim is one of the two still standing. He secured his Main Event seat after taking the APT Incheon 2025 High Roller title. This was a near career-high buy-in for Chim (~USD 3,500), that also awarded him a coveted ticket into the ATPC Main Event.

Chim joined the field shortly after play began at 11 a.m. He managed to gain traction, spinning his stack up to just over 90,000 after picking up aces – and getting the max off Jesus Fernandez - to keep his tournament life intact.

Akira Takasugi

Akira Takasugi Taipei 2025 Main Event

Joining him in the chase is Akira Takasugi, who also earned his main event seat through a previous APT event. He took victory in the APT Taipei 2025 Main Event.

Takasugi max late-registered the tournament at around 1:30 p.m. and has since built a stack of 80,500 as he sets his sights on another deep run.

Other previous APTC main event ticket winners came and fell, including Hung Te Lee, Biao Ding, Iat Man Leong, Calvin Lee, Wayne Lam.
