INCHEON, SOUTH KOREA, August 14, 2026 – Just 47 players from the record-breaking 1,393-entry APT Incheon 2026 Main Event returned to the tournament tables of the palatial Paradise City Casino Resort for the penultimate day of the festival’s flagship event.

After eight 60-minute levels of high-octane tournament action only nine remain in contention for the lion’s share of the KRW 3,008,540,000 (~USD 2,148,960) prize pool.

All nine finalists are guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 38,580,000 (~USD 27,560), earning themselves USD 6,890 for each of the four days played so far—not a bad return for four days of tournament grinding.

However, none of them will be looking for a final table min-cash and all will have their sights set on the KRW 523,720,000 (~USD 374,085) top prize, the award-winning Gold Lion APT Main Event Trophy, title and all the accolades that come with it, with the top three also earning a USD 10,000 (~KRW 14M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

APT INCHEON 2026 MAIN EVENT FINAL TABLE

The Chipleader & The Chasers

Banker and Hong Kong Poker Players’ Association (HKPPA) regular San Hon “Stephen” Pang leads the final nine into the deciding day with a commanding 13,550,000 stack (85 big blinds) after putting on a masterclass performance on Day 4.

Already holding an APT title to his credit, Pang is in prime position to shatter his career-best live score (USD 29,081)—an achievement guaranteed if he simply manages an 8th-place finish or better.

“Walter Lau's main event win in Taipei shows the world how strong HK poker is. I can't wait to take this down and display the Mega Lion at HKPPA! The prize money will allow me to play APT Jeju and the APT Championship, and I've set myself a goal of getting into the top 10 HK players in the GPI rankings,” said Pang when asked if he had any words for his compatriots back home after bagging up the chip lead.

Sitting right on Pang’s heels as the only other eight-figure stack is China’s Shoumin Zhang (10,585,000 / 66 BB), who will be hoping for a second title win of the festival on its biggest stage after taking down Event #18: Hyper Turbo - NL 7 Card Stud (6-Game) a week ago.

Veterans Chasing History

Adding massive firepower to the final table is Thailand’s Phachara Wongwichit (5,610,000 / 35 BB), the most decorated finalist in the field. Boasting eight APT titles, including the Rose Gold Lion APT High Roller trophy, and over USD 2.9 million in tournament winnings—including more than USD 400,000 won in the APT New Era alone—Wongwichit stands on the brink of another major milestone.

Phachara Wongwichit is looking to make APT history with a second Mega Lion trophy victory

A finish in 6th place or better will officially propel the Thai star past the USD 3 million mark in career live earnings. Having previously finished in every single final table position in APT history, the #3 ranked player on Thailand’s All-Time Money List also has a chance to make tour history as the first player to win two APT Mega Lion trophies.

Meanwhile, Japan’s Shinichiro Kano (6,190,000 / 39 BB) returns fourth in chips, continuing a remarkable run of consistency. Kano has managed to cash in every single APT Main Event of the 2026 season so far. This marks his second APT Main Event final table—with both of his career APT final tables occurring in flagship Main Events—putting the Japanese contender within striking distance of his maiden live tournament title.

New Faces & Global Contenders

Adding a wild-card element to the mix is the USA’s Yifu He (3,450,000 / 22 BB). Despite boasting over USD 1.68 million in live earnings and two career titles, He is making his APT series debut in Incheon, with his only prior cash coming earlier in the festival (97th in the Mystery Bounty Hunter).

Masatoshi Minowa Quadruples Career Earnings With Maiden Zodiac Classic Title Win for KRW 155M (~USD 110K)

Japan’s Masatoshi Minowa claimed his maiden live tournament title in the Zodiac Classic

Japan’s Masatoshi Minowa scored the defining victory of his tournament career in the tour’s largest Incheon-based edition of the KRW 3 million (~USD 2,100) Zodiac Classic – Sponsored by Natural8 to capture his maiden APT title.

The marquee event drew a massive field of 403 entries (303 unique) to generate a sizable KRW 1,044,576,000 (~USD 746,125) prize pool.

Entering the tournament with USD 32,748 in total live earnings, Minowa navigated through a star-studded field and a 134-player final day to reach the three-handed climax.

With action down to the final three, chip leader Minowa and Chinese duo Xiao Zhang and Renji Mao struck a three-way ICM deal to lock up substantial paydays. The trio then reduced the remaining blind levels to 10 minutes to play for the trophy, an additional KRW 7 million (~USD 5,000) in cash, and a USD 10,000 (~KRW 14M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

Despite Zhang eliminating Mao in third place to bring the chip lead into heads-up, he was forced to settle for second best and a KRW 144,917,000 (~USD 103,510) consolation prize after Minowa clawed back in front. Mao earned KRW 118,242,000 (~USD 84,460) for his third place finish.

A total of 55 players finished in the money, each securing at least a KRW 5,050,000 (~USD 3,600) min-cash for their efforts, with the final table paying out as follows:

Japan’s Ryuta Nakai Leads Superstar Challenge Day 1; Defending Champ Calvin Lee Stays in the Hunt

Ryuta Nakai is hunting his maiden Black Stealth Lion & second career APT title

The highest-stakes action of the APT Incheon 2026 festival reached fever pitch as Japan’s Ryuta Nakai bagged the overnight chip lead on Day 1 of the KRW 35 million (~USD 24,900) Superstar Challenge.

The event drew 29 entries (25 unique) to generate a KRW 961,350,000 (~USD 686,680) prize pool. After fourteen 40-minute levels, just 11 players survived Day 1. Only five will make the money when the action resumes, with the champion taking home KRW 360,000,000 (~USD 257,140), the Black Stealth Lion trophy, and a USD 10,000 (~KRW 14M) seat to November’s APT Championship Main Event.

Nakai set the pace for the day, bagging up 1,130,000 chips (56 big blinds)—the only player to breach the 1.1 million mark. Closely trailing Nakai is Thailand’s Punnat Punsri with 1,000,000 chips (50 big blinds).

Defending champion Calvin Lee is looking to repeat chance in the Superstar Challenge

Rounding out the top three is USA's Calvin Lee (895,000 chips / 45 big blinds). Lee is no stranger to deep runs in high-roller events, coming in as the defending APT Incheon 2025 Superstar Challenge champion and winner of the prestigious APTC Superstar Championship title. With a top three stack and a stellar track record in this exact event, Lee remains a clear and present danger to the rest of the field.

With heavy hitters like China's Yuan Lei (880,000 / 44 BB) and Malaysia's Yang Siang Ang (615,000 / 31 BB) lurking in the upper half, and newly crowned APT Super High Roller champion Jeremy Chan (395,000 / 20 BB) also still in the running, the battle to reach the five paid spots promises maximum drama when play resumes for the final day.
