JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, October 6, 2026 – The penultimate day of the APT Jeju 2026 (#APTJeju2026) saw the conclusion of the last of the guaranteed marquee events with the Micro Main Event crowning a champion and Ethiopia's Berhanu Kassa writing his way into the tour history books.

That’s not the last of the top flight tournament action for the festival though, with the two-day KRW 1.8M (~USD 1,300) Trip Saver giving players the chance to claim the last silver lion silhouette trophy of the series.

There was more high stakes action to be had with 41 players out of an initial 141-entry field returning to battle for a share of the KRW 523.8M (~USD 393.8K) prize pool in the final day of the High Roller – Ultra Stack. You can catch up on that in the APT Blog, or watch the action as it played out via the High Roller Ultra Stack Final Day live stream.

Other side event action playing out at the tournament tables of LES A Casino inside the Jeju Shinhwa World resort included the KRW 1M (~USD 740) NL Hold’em Freezeout, the KRW 7.5M (~USD 5,500) Single Day High Roller, and an eclectic mix of Omaha, seven card stud, Courchevel, triple draw, and Turbo and Hyper Turbo offerings. Demonstrating the Asian Poker Tour’s global appeal, players from over 43 different countries and regions have flown into Jeju to take part in the APT Jeju 2026 festival, with one of them making tour history in the process.

Ethiopia’s Berhanu Kassa etched his name into APT history by capturing the Micro Main Event title, becoming the tour’s first Ethiopian champion in its 20-year history.

Kassa outlasted a 173-entry field to take the lion’s share of the KRW 125,000,000 (~USD 93,985) prize pool. After advancing through 26 Day 2 survivors, he entered the nine-handed final table with a chip lead he would not relinquish. Kassa then defeated Main Event third-place finisher Kwang Chung Tan heads-up to secure his maiden live title, the silver lion silhouette trophy, and a KRW 27,980,000 (~USD 21,040) top prize.

This win marks the second-largest score of Kassa’s career, trailing only his sixth-place finish in the festival’s Mini Main Event.

Kassa enjoyed a standout series overall, also cashing in the Main Event, Korea National Cup, and NL Hold’em - Single Re-Entry to bring his total festival earnings to over KRW 71 million (~USD 53,000).

Tan collected KRW 18,880,000 (~USD 14,195) for his runner-up finish—his fourth final table appearance of the festival—pushing his total APT Jeju 2026 haul past KRW 251 million (~USD 188,000).

China’s Ziyang Wang rounded out the podium, earning a career-best KRW 12,990,000 (~USD 9,765) for third place. The final table payouts were as follows:

Colombia’s Sebastian Henao Bags Commanding Lead in Trip Saver with KRW 21M (USD 16.4K) Up Top

01 CHIP LEADER.JPG Colombia’s Sebastian Henao is the best position to save his trip

With the last of the festival’s silver lion silhouette trophies on the line, and a significant KRW 1.8M (~USD 1,300) buy-in, the two-day Trip Saver drew a high calibre 38-entry field (31 unique) featuring multiple APT Big Three champions.

The Day 1 action played out over over ten 40-minute levels, and close to a further five 30-minute levels, with the clock stopped 16-minutes into level 15 with the elimination of China’s Yingjie Chen on the money bubble with five players remaining.

These five final contenders are playing for a KRW 59,097,600 (~USD 44,435) prize pool and are already guaranteed a payout of at least KRW 5,610,000 (~USD 4,220).

It is Colombia’s Sebastian Henao leading the charge with a substantial 152 big blind stack of 609,000 – over 75 big blinds more than next closest rival Jieming Xu of China.

These two players are sitting on just over 80 percent of the total chips in play with China’s Xinze Li returning with just over 9 percent. That leaves Singapore’s Chun Kit Kwan and China’s Keer Lin returning a combined total of 12 percent between them, giving the duo a sizable mountain to climb should they wish to leave with some silverware.

This being tournament poker, it’s anyone's game, but the two will definitely need the rub of the green on the final day should they wish to taste victory,
