JEJU, SOUTH KOREA, February 3, 2026– The season-opener APT Jeju Classic 2026 has reached its halfway point.
Lots of action today as several side events have seen triple digit participation from festival attendees, building up significant prize pools unheard of for side events, with some even life-changing for some of our winners today.
One of those events is the record-breaking High Roller - Ultra Stack event, with the winner walking out with KRW 243,236,000 (~USD 170,692), a hefty sum for sure.

Zhou Caps Stellar Run with Victory in Event #31: High Roller - Ultra Stack

Zhou made more than seven times his lifetime earnings with this victory
The record-breaking Event #31: High Roller – Ultra Stack returned for its final day with the spotlight firmly on a stacked remaining field following Day 1. The concluding Final Day delivered an unprecedented result, as Guanglei Zhou claimed his first APT title, closing out the two-day contest in emphatic fashion.
Zhou secured the biggest payday of his poker career, banking KRW 243,236,000 (~USD 170,692) for the win. The Chinese player, who has posted multiple cashes over the past year at APT events, made his long-awaited breakthrough by multiplying his lifetime earnings sevenfold with a single victory and leading an all-Chinese podium finish.
Second place went to Yuzhu Wang of China, who took home KRW 161,700,000 (~USD 113,473). Carrying over USD 1.4 million in lifetime earnings, Wang was chasing his second APT title but had to settle for runner-up honours. Chang Liu completed the podium in third place, earning KRW 118,270,000 (~USD 83,001) as he narrowly missed out on a maiden APT title but still recorded a career-best cash.

Kui Lands First Win in Event #42: NL Hold’em – Bounty

Kui's makes a massive payday with first live cash and APT title
Junkai Kui delivered a remarkable performance by capturing his first APT title in Event #42: NL Hold’em – Bounty, topping a huge 255-entry field. The Chinese amateur, who entered the event with no recorded live cashes, secured KRW 29,140,000 (~USD 20,449) in prize money to mark both his maiden APT victory and first live tournament score.
Second place went to Siwei Yang of Hong Kong, who earned KRW 20,210,000 (~USD 14,182) along with KRW 600,000 in bounties after a strong run through the large field. Si Qi Li of China completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 14,130,000 (~USD 9,915) and KRW 300,000 in bounties.

Akihide Shimizu continued his strong mixed-game run by capturing his second APT title in Event #43: Masters Mixed Games – 9-Game. The Japanese grinder topped a 44-entry field to secure the KRW 17,394,000 (~USD 12,206) first-place prize.
Second place went to Daiki Aoki of Japan, who earned KRW 15,400,000 (~USD 10,807). John Charles Caridad of Australia completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 8,550,000 (~USD 6,000) as he came close once again but had to settle for another near-miss at the final table.

The Chinese pro, who carries over USD 600,000 in live tournament earnings, outlasted a formidable 179-entry field to secure the KRW 125,836,000 (~USD 88,305) first-place prize in one of the festival’s largest single-day high roller events.
Second place went to Hao Zhu of China, who earned KRW 85,250,000 (~USD 59,824). William Li of Canada completed the podium in third place, collecting KRW 56,840,000 (~USD 39,887) to round out a highly competitive top three.

The Chinese amateur topped a 65-entry field to secure the KRW 12,590,832 (~USD 8,835) top prize, prevailing in event that served as the highlight of the women’s schedule.
