Deuces Wild - Texas Hold’em

Deuces Wild is a variation of Texas Hold’em where all four of the deuces (2’s) in the deck are treated as “wild” cards and can be used by the player as any other card in the deck.

For example, a player with an Ace and Deuce (A2) in their hand can use the “wild” deuce as another ace, thus giving them a pair of aces. Players with ten, jack, queen, deuce, deuce would have a straight from ten to ace using the “wilds” as a king and ace. Players with nine, nine, deuce, deuce would have four nines.

Note: If a player is dealt a pair of deuces (22) at the start of the hand, they are required to immediately turn over their hand and the hand is declared over. That player will win the blinds and any available antes, plus the dealer button for the next hand. The reason is that two “wild” deuces are an unbeatable hand. Players who do not turn over their pocket deuces and have it exposed during a showdown situation will have their hand mucked and they will lose any claim on the pot for that hand.

Hand Rankings:
The only difference in hand rankings is that Five of a Kind is greater than a straight flush, but is less than a Royal Flush.

All other rules remain unchanged from Texas Hold’em.
